  1. I just have a quick question for you all. I am pretty new to poker. I currently play at the $.25/$.50 or $.50/$1 limit tables on various sites. I am curious as to what you would consider a successful day on the tables? I read somewhere that 1 BB/hr. is average. It is going to take a LONG time to build a bankroll if I am making $.25-$.50 an hour. Just wanted to know what any of you make on average at the low limit tables. Also, once I get the bankroll and move up to $5/$10 an up does the formula still hold? Thanks for the input.
  2. You have top pair with a good kicker. I think you have to see it through to the river for a couple of reasons. One is pot odds. You are getting 9-1 on the turn and 11-1 on the river. That means you have to be 90% sure you are beat on the turn to justify folding. On the river it's 93% sure. If he is bluffing just 1 out of 10 times with this you make a profit by calling him down all 10 times. Second reason is you want to see what he check-raised you with. This will be valuable information for future hands. It will be well worth the extra 2 bets in this hand to get a bit of a read on his
  3. I like Full Tilt a lot. Personally I like the cartoonish graphics. However, with the limits that I play it is almost impossible to get the bonuses. I got $20 out of a possible $90 last time and it looks about the same for this deposit. The play at low limits (.10/.25 and .25/.5) is pretty loose and can be beat easily. This doesn't net all that much profit though. Play gets tougher even at the 1/2 level and on up. For beginners I think the low limit games on FTP are excellent. I am moving to Party as I move up in limits though. Right now I need to make a bankroll before I try to get in
  4. QQ, JJ, and 1010 are trouble hands for me. I think it is my attitude after someone calls. I am just waiting to see that overcard hit the board. Then I always seem to read wrong. They bet and I fold and they show 99. Other times I go with it and they are playing A rag and hit. I would rather not have a pocket pair because it makes it easier to get away from later when you flop nothing.
  5. I have to vote for the all-in move. In another post someone said that the UTG limper tends to set off a chain of limpers. I have seen this to be true as well. People will tend to play increasingly weak hands because the price is right to try and hit a flop. We might be getting trapped by the 3rd seat, or even the button (with the button being more likely but also harder to read because he's on the button). That being said, the pot is 50% of your stack and this is a great opportunity to really increase your chip count. Most likely, the all-in bet forces everyone to fold. Possibly, you ar
