  1. i listen to music when i play online...stuff like the cure, the smiths, depechemode, stuff i can relax to ...i dont listen to music during live play, i like to hear as well as see the other players..sometimes you can hear in a persons voice if they have it or not..
  2. in my opinion, if you need a little "something extra" to keep you intrested in poker i.e loudmouths running around the poker room looking for ppl to give high fives to... then you need to be watching sports more codusive to that level...pro wrestling, nascaar, monster truck pulls...leave the poker to ppl that walk upright and dont drag their knuckles
  3. seems like this debate has become more of an issue because these are the types of cards that daniel was speaking of in his last journal entry..amazing how ppl will just rip off his comments as their own..
  4. I've got to agree with this one. I've heard from several pro's that he's not really a bad guy. One who pops to mind is Paul Phillips, he says he's played with him enough to know that it was just bad editing. And if you want some ammo for ESPN's editing issues, Paul is the guy to ask about that one too. Definitely has a bit of a bone to pick about that whole thing. I didn't like Arieh at all after I saw the show either, but after hearing from some first hand account, I've gone to undecided now. I'm just going to have to wait and see what happens in the future from him.if arieh didnt say a
  5. a few people doubted daniel and i guess it was somewhat well deserved<i disagree > lol...he proved the doubters wrong in a big way...goes to show you what kind of player daniel is , and more importantly it goes to show us what kind of PERSON daniel is...never give up..always fighting...we all could learn from this guy's attitude...im really impressed with daniel , and im impreseed that he stuck by the formula that has made him who he is today, even when his back was against the wall...i wasnt a big daniel fan at first, i thought he played too many mediocre hands and called alot of pref
  6. mine is iveyfan05 with a pic of phil of course
  7. when you are used to playing for a certaain amount of money, its crazy to think you could be just as motovated playing for 1/4 of that amount..its just not the same...we wouldnt expect alex rodriguez to play baseball for 1/4 of his salary and the same goes for shaq...why do we expect that from daniel?? hes a pro player...thats what he does TO MAKE MONEY ...i usnderstand the love of the game stuff and yes im sure he does love the game, but business is business..lets not be naive here, at the end of the day , we all play poker for the same reason......to make money...i have been playing for 7 y
  8. i like to drink , but at the table i do it sparringly...like somebody else said , you are there to make money...bottom line...ill order a grey goose rocks and nurse it..i like the taste ,but i dont drink more than 2 in a 4-6 hr session...usaully i drink a soft drink..but now and then i will take a drink..beiong drunk at the table, while working for others wouldnt work for me...i tend to get impatient and my attention span turns into that of a 12 yr old while drinking...so i save the partying till after i rake in the chips of the tourists on vacation getting bombed at the tables
  9. well first of all, im a big fan of daniel's..not only is he one of the best pleyrs in the world, hes one of the nicest ,and one of the bigest ambassadors for poker...i dont think what daniel said is a big deal..all of the players on his level feel the same way, they just dont have the stones to say what he said...thats like asking derrick jeter to play baseball for the minor league minimum..or asking kobe bryant to play one on one with gary coleman ..players that are on a diffrent level as 99% of others in their field need a bigger boost to get up for the competition...at least daniel had the
  10. i have played thousands of hands in live play , and yes you do see more bad beats online due to the law of averages..you see way more hands online that vs. live play so therefoer you tend to have more bad beats..its that simple...maybe you havent seen enough hands in live play to understand that...
  11. while playing online i always have music on...mostly stuff like the smiths, the cure,depechemode...relaxing stuff that helps me focus..
  12. to say that you can use real strategy online is so untrue...you can try , but im most cases whatever you know about poker has to be somewhat forgotten in online play..live play is the true measure of a player..if you win an online tourney its pretty good, but if you win a live play tourney, its widly more respected...because most ppl do regard winning live as way more difficult than onlince...as far as getting outdran by gamblers in live play , sure it happens, but not with the frequency as it does online,,and like i said in my other post i know you see way more hands online...when ppl can cli
  13. in the pros defense we dont get to see every hand they play on tv..we only see the ones the network deem intresting...they show the qurestionable calls and such as a rattings booster...its also important to change your style up as to not get pigeonholed...sometimes we pick a bad time to try to buy a pot, but i dontt hink the tv cameras are a big factor as to when a pro trys to buy a pot
  14. i have seen a trend in players behaving badly even when winning hands..belittling a player for a call or talking smack when winning a big pot..with the popularity of poker skyrocketing,we are gonna get ppl intp the game that now think its the "hip.cool." thing to do...the good part is getting there money wont be hard the bad part is their poker etiquette...i only hope they pick up the right way to behave from more seasoned and well mannered players..i only hope these newbies to the game will give the game and its players the respect it truly deserves...
  15. i prefer live play by far...online is not "real" poker..when you cant look in the eyes of the guy that came back over the top of your raise then at that point its pretty much a guessing game..live play you can look at him and maybe pick something up ..not so online...lot of bad beats online , and yes i agree that you see more hands so you get more bad beats, but i also feel that ppl never fold online..i say that meaning in tourney situations with low buy ins<under $100.00> its basically river poker...i play online ,but its rare for real money...i do play with play money, for the sake of
  16. well first of all i agree emotion is important ..it makes us do some things we wouldnt do spur of the momment..but in terrel owens case his endzone antics are choreographed,,,he plans his dances before the game even starts...id like to see matias anderson try his wildabeast mating ritual yell at the taj poker room in atlantic city...i gurantee he wouldnt last 10 minutes...josh arieh walking around the poker room mumbling "was there ever a doubt"" ont hat hand he made a bad play and got lucky...john murphy played that tourney with more class that these seasoned vets like matusow and arieh..i
  17. i will handle it like a gentleman.....on the outside lol..on the inside im dying ....i know all the pros say to maintain your composure, and i agree thats the right way to be..thats one of the things that seperates them from players like me,,they can keep cool and get over a bad beat while i stew over it for a few hands...i dont get mad or say anything rude i say nice hand and fry on the inside...i hate when i make the right play and get beat by a fish making a stupid call or hitting a miracle on the river... but thats poker,. we live by the card we die by the card...important thing is to no
  18. giving info about your hands toa friend at the table is not only shady but wrong....when you sit at a poker table its you against the other players , when cheating comes into play that eliminates the stratgedy and cheapens the game..players like you give a bad name to the game and make it hard for real players to enjoy the game cause we are worried about cheaters with no game like you and your friends...
  19. i dont say much at the table usaully, if i am engaged in a conversation i will answer but i dont typically start and convos..i try to study the players interacting with each other rather then have them focus on me..but to each his own...
  20. well first of all john murphy played great poker 99.99% of the time..like alot of people i really hated seeing him make that big bet on the river to josh...if he checks there im pretty sure he knocks out josh or seriously cripples him..either way, if murphy plays the hand correctly josh never makes the final table ...as far as josh's antics they are horrendous...in a world where people like terrel owens ans ron artest are stars people like josh and mattias anderson are bringint that into the poker world..people try tosay that josh and hellmuth behave similarily ..i disagree when phil wins a
