  1. I ponied up for the $50 on WorldSeriesofPoker.com and watched Phil put on an absolute clinic tonight. He was in such command of the table, it was awesome. Only one guy would play back at him as most were happy to sit back and move up a couple spots in the money. Great work, Phil. Congrats on #11

  3. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this information... Last year at the WSOP a group of us all played a winner-take-all tourney where the winner was to take the money and play in an event at the WSOP. 70% of any winnings went to the player and 30% was to be split evenly for the group. Our player ended up cashing and ended up with a check for a bit over $20,000. Unfortunately, he got some really bad advise from his personal tax guy and the payout to each person ended up being a few hundred bucks smaller than expected. This, of course, did not sit well with the players and ended up turning in t
  4. While I am 100% in agreement that if he turns his cards face up and lays them on the table, even if he says "you win, I missed my straight", he should have been pushed the pot. The dealer made a mistake, missed the fact that there was a straight and pushed you the pot. My question is this, since the money had been pushed to you, the cards had now ALL been put in the muck, and then in to the shuffeler and the next hand is already underway before anybody notices that there is an issue and says something, shouldn't the initial call by the dealer stand? I'm just a little surprised that the floor w
  5. The buy in is $12 instead of the normal $11 - the extra buck goes towards the prize pool.
  6. That's because Daniel hasn't flopped a straight yet. Give it time. The cooler is coming. (usually on the turn)
  7. When I first started running my home tourney, there was $0 money pulled from the pot. When we all ordered pizza there was always an issue with who was chipping in and how much each person was going to throw in and nobody EVER has change. Plus, some people always expected there to be beer & snacks provided because I was hosting... I then switched to taking $5 per person out of the pot. I supplied a couple 12 packs and enough pizza for the group. Nobody is ever upset about throwing in 5 bucks and it ends up saving time and effort. With that said, I personally think that $10 per person is a bi
  8. I've never done it myself, but the mis-clicks that I find the funniest are when you are playing in a Limit HE SNG and some dude raises every time it's his action and then, when somebody calls him on it he says, "I didn't know this was limit HE".
  9. Did they make him post every hand since he's blind?Seriously though, I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to the dealer, but I'm certain I'd be paying attention to the dealer's lips when he's whispering to the guy. It's not my fault the guy can't see his cards. But, I want his chips as bad as I want the rest of the chips at the table.
  10. Bought in at the cage and walked over to the 3/6 table and took the only open seat. My seat is UTG. The dealer sees me about to take the seat and deals my cards before I'm even seated. I set my rack down, sit down and pick up my cards, set them down in front of my rack and say, "Check". I had 3 people trying to explain to me that I can't check, blah blah blah...It actually worked out nicely. They all thought I had never played before and I wasn't about to correct them.
  11. 35 people at my work each threw in $20. We bought 700 tix. After tax we're looking at about 2.2 mil each.
  12. It's currently 10:33 (Pacific) and Panella is currently playing in 4 $5,000 head's up SNGs...He's at 2:1 chip DIS-advantage at all 4 tables...At this rate, he should be broke by morning!
  13. I think I'm gonna have to remove the google maps. They seem to slow things down to a crawl. I think I'll make a separate link that will pop up the map in a separate window instead. Thanks for the input.
  14. Hey! I just finished putting together a site that lists live poker tournaments in Las Vegas. The site is 100% free to use. If you wouldn't mind taking a couple minutes and checking it out, I'd like to know what you think of the site.GotJacks.comAlso, if there are any features you think I should add to the site that would be useful information, please let me know! Thanks for your time.
