  1. I don't understand the guy's river push either, not with a straight flush and a full house board staring him in the face.  If he was determined to push no matter what (which he obviously was) it would've made more sense to push on the turn when he still had a bunch of outs against a made straight or flush, and even had a handful of outs against a turned full house.  He still would've lost, but that's my take on his push.
That in itself begs another question about the hand....If BB pushes all in on the turn, for his last$125,do you call that bet with the straight and open ended straight flush draws, with the board showing a boat AND flush???
  2. Just thought I would post a hand that I played a few weeks ago at the Windsor Casino in the $1-2 (100 max buy-in) No Limit game. I'm on the button with J :D K :D Table has been playing fairly tight, not many raises most of the night. 5 people before me limp in, as do I, and the blinds call and check. Flop comes 9 :D 10 :) Q :) Perfect flop for my hand, sort of.... Second position bets $10, two players fold, one calls and I raise it to $30 to go. BB calls, as does the original bettor. Turn brings Q :) Uh oh.... BB bets out $20, second player calls, I call. (question 1 - should I have raised here, or gone all in? I had about $325 in front of me at this point, way more than either player still left in the hand, who both had around $100-$150 left) River Card comes K :) BB checks, P2 checks, I bet out $20. BB asks the dealer "How much can I raise?" and pushes all in. P2 folds, and with my Nut straight flush, it's an easy call. BB flips over A :) Q :club: for the Ace high flush. (question 2 - What can the big blind possibly think I have at this point? With only the Ace high flush, any bet I would make here would probably have him beaten. The board is paired, with a 4 card straight flush) (question 3 - The session fee at Windsor is $6 per 1/2 hour at the $100 max NL table. Am I the only one that thinks that is way too high?? That's 6 BB per hour---Tough to beat the house in that game) Any input is appreciated.

  4. The thing I like about his call pre-flopis that the guy who made the raise wasalso the guy acting all c0cky after probablytaking down the previous pot on some drawagainst a player likely superior to him.Paying a dollar to see a flop with suitedconnectors isn't a terrible idea, just in case the flophits you perfect, like it did in this case. If it doesn't,then it only cost you a dollar, but if it does, it's evensweeter to take out a player like that. Kinda like Hellmuthsays in his book "invest a toothpick to win a lumberyard" :club:

  5. This is from 2+2 written by Barry Greenstein:5. I made the mistake of getting involved in a thread regarding Daniel’s integrity. I think Daniel is an honest person. The case can be made that Daniel is too honest with his frank opinions about other players and telling insights regarding his own psychological issues.
Is it just me, or is Barry not being "too honest with his frank opinionsabout other players" ???
  6. Chuck, are you a cop? The point is not that its illegal its that it is a victimless crime. This doesen't hurt anyone, its not like this is some big drug cartel or terrorist organization. The only bad thing to say about it is that it is illegal, and you probably cant even give me a good reason as to why it is illegal. Why dont you and your cop friends go catch some real criminals, or would you rather shake down unarmed suburbanites with assault rifles, when you could of accomplished the same thing with just a hand ful of cops, no one needed to be treated like a terrorist or a violent criminal in this situation.
Although I see your point Aces, take it easy on Chuck.Gambling, in any form, is not ALWAYS a victimless crime. It has its evils, the same way alcohol or drug addiction does.Just because YOU are not being victimized, doesn't mean thatthere are NO victims. I don't think Chuck was incinuating that you were part of a violent or criminal organization, he was just stating factual informationon what the nature of the law is.
