lol @ tsn and the "too many men toteboard"...another one in Bos/Buf tonight
-
Can Markov play ANY fking worse?? I'm close to Serge-ing my remote control every time he fks up another play
-
Probably the best call I've seen all playoffs....and made by the guy in the neutral zone no less.
-
subban has looked great out there.massive effort in the first period, lets keep it going instead of playing not to lose like in the earlier games this series
-
holy christ these refs are brutal...on both sides
-
lol now it's back to Halak?? This team is ridiculous.
-
as Zach put it so succinctly one night while we were playing chinese poker "F*ck the guy that invented non-hd tv"
-
OMG my wife and I have had this conversation more times than I can count. We PAY for goddamn HD, it's a million times better than SD...PUT ON THE HD!
-
Really? The same guy who keeps the league out of cities like Hamilton, yet keeps teams in Phoenix, Nashville, Atlanta, Carolina, etc etc etc??I hate what he's done to hockey.
-
Did Serge lend you his rose coloured glasses that he uses during the regular season or something? They played like shit in the 2nd and 3rd periods of both games 2 and 3.
-
One would think...somehow this team never has.
-
I think it's more of a wakeup call to the team than anything. As I posted though right after game 2, Halak was done - through no fault of his own with anything that happened in game 3, this team just loses confidence in their goaltending at the first sign of any inconsistency. Great teams rally around their goalies in those times, this team is the opposite for some reason.

per tsn, Carey's in tonight.
-
hem, not even a question anymore
-
funny thing is, when you type something backwards, it kinda makes it look french...lol

nah none of what's happened tonight can be blamed on Halak. They're just a team that loses confidence in their goaltending at the drop of a hat. Price is really not a bad goalie, they've just played like shit in front of him 90% of the time and hung him out to dry. Same deal tonight with Jaro. It's too bad.

i'm also offering 7-1 on the habs winning this series (to extend the sergeisms) if anyone's interested
-
sigh. nice effort boys.

I really don't think the league sits them down to say the rules are changing - I think it's more a case of old school vs new school. Either way, none of these guys want to be "the difference" in any of these games...they just have different ways of showing that. Some let more go than they normally would - others call it a little tighter than normal...who knows why, it's just too bad they aren't all on the same page.

Sure, in slow motion and from 6 different angles it probably did look inadvertant - but moving at warp speed up the ice, the ref has less than 2 seconds to interpret what's going on and what the intentions of the player are and if an advantage has been gained or taken away by the action (all while having to skate himself to keep up with the play). I'll admit, I've been critical of the refs in these playoffs too, but certainly not in the spots where most people seem to be jumping on them (namely the vancouver too many men which was called in a split second by the linesman that was standing rig
-
If I recall though (I've watched too much freakin hockey in the past 5 days to be 100% sure) didn't McCreary basically go to both benches early on and tell them it was going to be zero tolerance for stick fouls and any shit after the whistle? I didn't see a problem with the call on Clarkson, especially given how tight they had called the rest of the game.
-
Knowing the NHL refs, it's probably part of the code. The ones that should be charging they call elbowing, and the ones that should be roughing are called charging to complete the circle. I think Bob Cole had something to do with coming up with this system.
-
man I can't stand that guy, but nice pickins Bob

The reffing in these playoffs has been horrid (and no, I'm NOT talking specifically about the habs game last night OR the canucks too many men call, just speaking in general terms)
