  1. hes getting 7:1 on the call on the flophe needs a Q or an A to improve. thats 7 outs or 6.7:1 to improve.
The reason I folded is because I'm not sure all my outs are good. There is a chance that someone has a J, taking away the Aces, and a smaller chance that the Q could fill someone up, or that someone already has a boat.
  2. $1/$2 FullTiltecon_timPreflop - UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls, econ_tim, MP3 folds, CO calls, Button folds, SB folds, BB calls, MP1 calls.Pot: 8.5 SBFlop - [Kh Jc Js]BB checks, MP1 bets, econ_tim folds.

  3. $1/$2 Full Tiltecon_timPreflop - 2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, econ_tim calls.Pot: 20.5 SBStrange preflop action. First, MP2's limp/raise screams AA or KK, but maybe he has AK. I don't know what to make of the BB's cap. I have seen MP2 call raises with A5os and call to the river with bottom pair. BB is also a calling station who overplays his hands.Flop - [3 :diamond: 4 :diamond: J  ]BB checks, MP1 checks, MP2 bets, MP3 folds ?!?, BB calls, MP1 folds, MP2 calls.Pot: 26.5 SBI raise to find out where I stand and no one pushes back, so maybe I'm good.Turn - [7  ]BB checks, MP1 checks, econ_tim, BB calls, MP1 calls.Pot: 16 BBNo one bet out, but they didn't fold either, so I'm getting worried.River - [4  ]BB checks, MP1 checks, econ_tim checks.Final pot: 16 BB

  4. You're right that you often don't have pot odds to draw to a nine out flush in NL. That is exactly why people make such large bets: to drive out drawing hands. The suited cards you play will often have more than 9 outs, though. For example, if you have an overcard and a flush draw, that adds three outs. A pair and a flush draw could add 5 outs, etc. Also remember that if you have four to a flush on the flop, you are 2 to 1 to make your flush by the river. Sometimes the pot will be large enough that you are getting odds to push all in on a flush draw (although you should only do this with high flush draws). For example, if the pot has $50 in it already and you have $40 left in front of you, you can push because if anyone calls the total pot will be $180 and you will get to see the turn and river. Hope this helps.

  5. In June FullTilt is having a guaranteed tournament for 30 WSOP main event seats, and a freeroll for 10 seats. They have also been having weekly freefrolls for new players for one seat since the beginning of April. Also there are other touranments, so there should be 60ish from FullTilt. The WSOP final event will be huge this year. The pros should be happy about all the dead money.

  6. $1/$2 FullTilt (8 handed)econ_timPreflop - UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 3 folds, Button calls, SB folds, econ_tim checks.Pot: 4.5 SBFlop - [7 :diamond: 9  4 :spade: ]econ_tim raises, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.Pot: 10.5 SBI don't think this flop would help early position limpers, and since the Button is out, I'm probably ahead.Turn - [8 :diamond: ]econ_tim bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 folds.Pot: 7 BBGuess I could worry about JT, but the 8 is unlikely to have hit anyone, and I get OESD.River - [A :diamond: ]econ_tim checks, UTG checks.Final pot: 7BB

  7. You should bet more on the flop, maybe $75. It's already a large pot so you should be happy to take it down here, and a large bet will make it harder for draws to stick around. You should also bet the turn. It is hard to know what to do on the river since you didn't bet the turn. You're probably good because it doesn't look like the bettor wants a call, but you would know better where you stand if you had bet the turn.

  8. $1/$2 HE FullTiltecon_timPreflop - UTG folds, UTG+1 raises, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, econ_tim calls.Pot: 17.5 SBFlop - [6 :spade: 9 :spade: 7  ]UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, econ_tim bets, Button calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls.Pot: 21.5 SBGood flop for me. With everyone putting in all those bets before the flop, wondering why no one raises me.Turn - [ 7 :club: ]UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, econ_tim calls.Pot: 19 BBI should have three bet here, but I was a little worried about the Button's stop-and-go and everyone else cold calling the raise.River - [ 4 :spade: ]UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, econ_tim calls.Final pot: 23 BBSince the third spade drops, I'm check/calling the river. Results in white: UTG+1 shows pocket fives, MP2 shows pocket jacks, econ_tim shows pocket queens, Button shows AK. econ_tim wins 23 BB.

  9. I think Vade has the right idea. Quit playing when the quality of your play deteriorates, not when you are ahead. If you are going to play online for a living, you are going to have to put in a lot of hours and probably play a regular schedule. As long as you are playing well, you should expect to win whether you are up or down, so only quit when you have made you hours for the day or you can't play your best.

  10. He folded to my river bet. I know this is unusual, and I'm pretty sure he had a better hand. Since there are 4.5 BB in the pot, my river bet only has to work 1 time out of 4. Even so, people might not fold often enough. My opponent seemed like a solid player, and I wouldn't try this move on most people. I prefer check/folding the river to check/calling as I don't think I would be the best hand often enough to call. I like betting out better than check calling because it has higher EV if there is any chance the opponent will fold. I don't make plays like this often, so it could also get people to pay me off more on the river. Thanks for your feedback.

  11. I bet the river because I don't see any hand that the CO could have that I could beat. I know this sounds perverse, but it is the only way I can win. I read his check on the turn as weak, possibly worried that I am trying to CR again. So I bet out to represent a failed CR. His flop 3-bet seems like he was just testing me, but being in the big blind I could have a wide range of hands that could beat him and he might fold on the river if he has just a pair with a weak kicker.

  12. $1/$2I have [Js 4h]Folds to CO, CO calls, Button calls, SB folds, I check.Flop [Ad 5s Jh]I check, CO checks, Button bets, I raise, CO folds, Button 3 bets, I call.Turn [3h]I check, CO checks.River [6s]I bet ...

  13. I find KJo difficult too. Here are two hands from a recent session that I probably misplayed. All are $2/$4 at FullTilt.Hand 1econ_timPreflop - UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, econ_tim calls.Pot: 11 SBLots of bets in already.Flop - [ 9 :club: T :spade: 4  ]SB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, econ_tim bets, MP2 folds, SB calls, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls.Pot: 14 SBI bet here to try and buy the button, and to pump the pot for my overcard and gutshot draws.Turn - [ 7 :spade: ]SB checks, UTG+1 checks, econ_tim checks.Pot: 7 BBHere I decide to take a free card, although maybe betting is better with a double gutshot and overcards.River - [8  ]SB bets, UTG+1 calls, econ_tim raises, SB calls, UTG+1 folds.Pot: 12 BBI've made my straight and I'm not too worried about lurking KQ.Results in white: econ_tim shows J high straight, SB shows [J 9] for J high straight.Hand 2econ_timPreflop - UTG calls, econ_tim calls, SB calls.Pot: 8 SBNormally I don't like to play KJo from early position, but this table was very passive. Unfortunately, the BB had a hand.Flop - [ Q  9 :club: J :diamond: ]SB checks, BB bets, UTG folds, econ_tim calls, SB calls.Pot: 11 SBIs raising the flop better? I've certainly got odds to call.Turn - [T  ]BB bets, econ_tim raises, SB folds, BB calls.Pot: 9 BBDoesn't look like BB has AK.River - [ 6  ]BB checks, econ_tim bets, BB calls.Final Pot: 11 BBNot afraid of backdoor flush either. Results in white: econ_tim shows K high straight, BB shows [A Q] for a pair of queens.

  14. Thought this hand was amusing.$2/$4 HE FullTiltecon_timPreflop - 5 folds, CO calls, 2 folds, econ_tim checks.Pot: 2.5 SBIf I hadn't already been playing with the BB for 100 hands, seeing him limp in from the CO would still tell me two things. First, he is weak. Second, he is a choad.Flop - [9  A :spade: 8  ]econ_tim checks, BB checks.Pot: 1 BBEven though I know he is weak, I don't want to bet into him with my ten high. But his check tells me he caught none of the flop.Turn - [9 :club: ]econ_tim bets, CO calls.Pot: 3 BBThe turn couldn't have helped him, so I'll try to win it.River - [4  ]econ_tim bets, CO calls.Final Pot: 5 BBNow I've improved and I think CO might call with nothing. Results in white:econ_tim shows two pairs, CO mucks [Ks Qc].

  15. Yeah, this is a pretty good survival play. If you care a lot more about winning big (i.e. 1st-3rd) than making the money then you should call here. Sounds like you did all right with 7 big blinds left in your stack. After player 13 is eliminate, of course, it is time to go all in with many hands.

When I was scanning this, I thought "Christian" was one of the things you were looking for in a site. I thought, what the hell? How does this guy expect to find a religious poker site?!? I did think of some good names, though: Pentecostal Poker, Catholic Carribean Stud, Holy Hold'em.
