  1. I would tell them to eat me. Where does it say that everything you do in life has to benefit someone else? Contribute to society, my ***! I don't come to work to better society, I come here to earn a paycheck. I certainly wouldn't be here if they weren't paying me. And my company's products benefit other companies who use them to improve their products to gain market share over their competitors so that they can make more money. So, OP, are you going to accuse me of not contributing to society the same way you're accusing DN? Why not? Ultimately my work doesn't benefit anyone other than
  2. If this is true, I want to start playing rich guys EXCLUSIVELY!
  3. Here's the problem in a nutshell...There are a lot of Christian Conservatives in the USA. Many of them believe that science if completely off the mark about evolution, and because of that they completely deny anything else that science says because they believe it's all anti-god propoganda. So, when climatologists step up and provide evidence that the human race is causing global warming they all just dismiss it like they do with anything else science tells them.Funny story... I was playing poker a few nights back, and one of the "rednecks" that play at this club was sitting there talking t
  4. Stan's call with K-5 has to be logged in the donk Hall of Fame. What in the hell was he thinking? I thought he played his cards well up to that point, with the exception of giving up on the previous hand and letting HD win it with his K. Of course, all the other plays were no brainers. After that call he went downhill and got lucky as hell to win. I feel bad as Hd absolutely deserved that win.
  5. So making it so that only the rich can play in the main event is going to somehow better determine who the best player in the world is? You'll still have guys like Jerry Buss playing in it, because HE can afford it. How is the buy-in amount relative to who the best player in the world is?With the amount of luck involved in poker, the "best" will probably only win 5% of the time anyway. The ME is just another tournament where they slap the title "World Champion" onto it. It means nothing and everyone knows it. If a pro won the title this year would it then again have this prestige that app
  6. It'll end up getting banned. The US Gov will prosecute the owners for promoting illegal activity, and once again all of our lives will be better because we have GWB and the moral majority looking out for our best interests. I'm so glad they are there to protect me from me.
  7. According to you he was "wondering" around. He must have some big ideas for them.
  8. K9MALONEY?It sounds like some guy MALONEY is letting his dog play. That might explain how he's earned $1 over what, 30 tournaments?
  9. Daniel,With all due respect, I can understand your point of view as someone who enjoys American Idol, but I think you may be overestimating the effect of the "haters" in the competition. Honestly, if they were able to get Sanjaya to the finals and even get him enough support to win, what damage has been done? He's only 1 contestant, and history has shown that the winner isn't always the one who prospers in the music industry. Look at Clay Aiken (a runner up). And many other Idol contestants have done well because someone in the recording industry realized they had talent and gave them a de
  10. I know it was only a $1.50 sit&go, but why would you push all-in like that with garbage? I guess the better question is, why do you play $1.50 sit&go's when you obviously don't care about winning them? And don't get me wrong, you have the right to do whatever you want with your money, but I'm just curious why people make terrible moves like that when they have money invested, albeit a very small amount.
  11. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070330/ap_on_...AUwe_EmtM_MWM0FThis is one battle between countries that I hope the US loses.
  12. Of course they do. The casino lobby was behind Frist pushing that stupid bill through. And now that they stopped the bleeding (sort of) of American dollars going to the overseas companies, they'll redirect their lobbying money into getting on-line gambling legalized in America. Then they'll steal all of the customers that those overseas companies served in good faith. It's absolutely disgusting how this BS goes on in our government, and yet people still vote for Democrats and Republicans in the false hopes that any of them will ever make a difference. It's almost laughable how lobbyists and
  13. You're playing to make money, right? You're doing that, right? So what if it's boring. How many people are bored with their jobs? Just about all of them. So stop complaining and be greatful you can make enough to live on playing poker.
  14. If you're legit then I'm truly sorry for your situation man. All I can say is if you have them, run your credit cards to the max. You can always file for bankruptcy later if you have to. Help your kid first and screw the financial impact.Anyway, I didn't read every post between page 1 and here, so if this was already suggested then I'm sorry to waste your time. Anyway, being this is a poker forum, have you thought about fundraising tournaments? If you're a member of a local organization (Elks, Owls, etc.) Im sure you could have one a week to try to raise money for your son. Go to the nex
  15. I watch HSP, WSOP, and occasionally WPT with my kids. My daughter is 8 and my son is 4. My daughter doesn't like it much, she'd rather watch Disney, but she knows that I get my TV time too. My son knows I play poker and so he likes watching it with me. My daughter is starting to understand the hands a bit too. She knows when someone has a pair of Q's that it's a good starting hand.I don't think anything related to gambling is bad for kids to see. Like the guy said before, it's all about teaching your kids properly. Keep them isolated from the poker shows and when they become teenagers a
  16. It's ok to keep her, just don't marry her. (P.S. I'm not kidding.)
  17. The only players I ever hear actually talking about pot odds are horrible players who really don't understand what pot odds are.
  18. Run man! Run for your life! Trust me, you don't want to do it. I don't care if she's the "coolest chick I've ever known". Call it off before it's too late!!!!!!OK, that's my first helpful post for today. Now, to the OP, I've been there man. I solved a problem for my company that actually put me out of a job. Talk about a slap in the face. Anyway, me and my wife were just about to settle on a brand new house, and with me being the bigger earner it was scary as hell. We found a way to make it work, even though it took me 7 months to find a new job. When my unemployment ran out I got a te
  19. 100% of the risk. MAYBE 50% of the profits? WOW! Sounds like a great deal to me.
  20. He did. I don't know the guy, but he comes across as one of the players with a real celebrity attitude. Wouldn't it have been much more appropriate to ask the dealer for change for the $100, then toss her a tip (be it a buck or 10) afterwards instead of asking for $99 back? It just sounded completely insulting to me. Maybe it was a joke.
  21. Oh, I almost forgot...You said that show is rigged (or at least the poker is). I don't know about the poker scenes, but that hand could have come from any time during their filming and it was just edited in after the Daniel lesson because it would be appropriate. But lets face the true idiocy of that scene... Here's Rob, an aspiring pro poker player and he doesn't know to slow play his flopped monsters without Daniel telling him to? I mean, come on. The poker instruction from Daniel had to be scripted, because nobody with even a short poker resume would need some of that advice. It was o
  22. Boston Rob actually played in a local tourney I played in about 2 weeks ago. He was in town with Amber and came to play with his father-in-law (I think his name is Val) who is a semi-regular at this place. Everyone was whispering around "Hey, that's Boston Rob". I didn't even realize it but I was sitting right next to his father-in-law for most of the tourney.Funnily, I had just watched about 3 episodes of that horrible reality show myself earlier that week. I was flipping channels and saw Daniel so I stopped to see what it was. As bad as it was, it was about poker, so I watched a few epi
  23. It's on Thursday at either 8 or 9PM.
  24. If you think heads up poker doesn't involve an intense amount of luck then you're the one who's dumber than a piece of wood, jerkoff.
