You're right. Complaining here won't change anything. But neither will speaking out against it, no matter how big a group you can get to support you. The blowhards running this country have no intentions of sticking out their political necks to rock the boat and make this country what it was intended to be from the start, FREE. Anyone who believes this country is free when you can't USE drugs in your own home, and you can't gamble with YOUR own money, and where taking money to give someone a massage is legal but massaging a certain body part is not, and all of the other victimless crimes t

I can give you a good reason... Well, a good reason for the government anyway. Because in these home games (which technically this is) the government don't get their cut. If there is money moving around and there is no tax that can be assessed to it, it's made illegal. Yes, they'll tell you it's about the seediness that surrounds it (i.e. loan sharking, drugs, etc.) but it's all BS! It's the same reason the government has to sensor TV, because of the residual effects and the "poor children" who might see a woman's breast on Tv for less than 1 second.Yes, it's illegal, and we're all require

You sure that wasn't Gus Hansen you were playing against?

Daniel,First I just wan't to say you are my favorite player currently. I love your demeanor at the table and your style of play.Anyway, enough ass kising. Here's my question...With the massive surge of popularity and seemingly thousands of non-pro players entering big tourneys by way of sattellites, have you noticed a difference in how you have to approach these things? I hear all the time about how inexperienced (or just downright bad) players frustrate decent players because they don't know when to fold, etc. Also, the fact that there are so many unknowns coming into the game must make i

heads up blind structure - explanation please!
Scanner313 replied to billywestom's topic in Poker Forums
The blind structure almost has to be this way, doens't it? If the BB was on the button then they get to act last the entire hand. Of course, the same would be true for the SB once the next hand hits. I don't know if that would present a real problem, but the only situation I've encountered where this was argued was during the last live tournament I played.I was 3rd at the table, and once I got bumped I offered to deal the rest of the way. I was the dealer on the hand I lost to, so the SB on this hand was to be the dealer on the next hand. But, when I pushed the button in front of them and -
Man, you couldn't have made a better point! This is exactly why underage kids shouldn't be gambling.I can see it now... some kid runs up $20K - $25K on the credit card his parents gave him for "emergencies", and they then claim he was sucked into gambling as a result of all the TV shows and commercials for on-line sites there are now. And they will bring this to the attention of some state representative who will then pass some legislation in their state, and some senator or congressman will catch wind of it and because of their "moral values" stance will press for making all of these overse

Actually, when Worm is talking about how he survived in prison he's moving his arms around alot, thereby I'm pretty sure Mike could have gotten a glimpse of his tattoo.

KGB does not say that line during the final hand. that is when mike flops aces up and folds because teddy eats the cookie, letting mike know he flopped the wheel. after that you see all the chips shift to mike, and then the last hand takes place. You're right. I haven't seen it for about 2 months. BUT... if Mike is supposedly up big on KGB by the final hand, then why is Mike looking so desperate when the Ace comes on the River? He still had the chip lead on him and probably wouldn't have been crippled too badly.Oh, and one other thing that doesn't make sense... When KGB agrees to play Mi

tuan le, luckiest tourney player ever.
Scanner313 replied to PhishForChips's topic in General Poker Forum
I know they edit out the crap on the WPT, but the match where Tuan Le went heads up with Temp Hutter was a good display of how Tuan Le got lucky in another major tournament. Granted, he must have played great to get to that seat, but some of the moves he made heads up were very confusin at best (at least to me). After watching that I said to myself "This guy is making some terrible calls for a Pro". Hell, even Temp was astonished by his all in call with 8-6 or something like that. Then he hits the hand to win the pot. He won the tourny the same way I believe.I'm not saying he's not a good -
I cant' stand watching Matusow play. Yeah, he's a good player, but what a crybaby! I still can't believe his reaction after getting bumped from the WSOP '04 main event. He kept saying he had to win this year or he would kill himself. Can anyone say drama queen? And then he literally cried when he got knocked out.No offense, but if you can't NOT cry when getting eliminated from a poker tournament, no matter how bad the beat may be, then maybe you should seek counseling or give up poker entirely!Just my opinion though. I don't like the guy.

Here's another question that I haven't figured out yet...When Mike gets to KGB's he has Petrovsky's $10K. He plays KGB heads up and wins, so now he has $20K. They goat him back to the table so now the total purse is $40K.Ok, so now it's down to the final hand. KGB had just told Mike "Should have qvit while ahead. Bad judgement." which to me indicates that Mike is down pretty bad. So, he flops the nut straight, and checks/calls all the way to the river, only to play it like he knows he's beat, so KGB goes all in. Mike calls him and wins all of KGB's roll. Then during the commentary at the
