  1. Why raise? You want to get it heads up with K high and only runner draws? Call and re-evaluate the turn. If it bricks i'd check/fold.
  2. Man, I don't get these shorthanded plays at all. Tim would probably own me at 6-max because I'd be one weak/tight mofo compared to him.
  3. Vince Van Patten once told me that I couldn't win here by checking.Sometimes a pot is just not yours to win, no matter how you played it. The turn isn't too bad, since you might as well bet if you plan on calling one, and betting here could get the sb to fold AK or a lower PP. River is spew in my opinion, since the only thing you are getting to fold here that beats you is the nut flush draw.I feel your pain though, it is really hard to slow down after you've been pushing your semibluff all throughout the hand. I always feel like an idiot after I check-fold the river when my overcards+nut flu
  4. It will never happen. Not only are there the obvious legal ramifications, there is no secure network for money to be exchanged/cashed out via the connection that game consoles offer. Finally, no console would even voluntarily allow a gambling game to be developed for thier operation system. Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo would never risk the PR suicide of being labelled as the multimedia giant that is trying to addict kids to gambling. Finally, who would buy this? Are you going to buy the console version of Party Poker for $50, or are you going to keep playing the PC version, which is free, has a pr
  5. Aki most likely meant shorthanded limit. There is not that much variance in full ring limit games unless your play style is super aggressive.
  6. I think this is a fold. The sb wasn't too afraid of your raise and bet with a paired board and then leads into you on the river. Unless your image is really horrible, I don't see the aces being ahead enough times here to call.
  7. Sometimes a player just runs well over a period of time. DN tore up the tournaments last year but couldn't get anything going this year. Ivey's performance is a combination of skill, which nobody denies, but also a good amount of luck. Nobody can keep up this kind of performance.
  8. Did Bluff magazine just admit to using an internet poker forum as a source for its articles?
  9. I like how none of these stories are never about the person posting. Following that trend, one of my friends dated a guy who not only lost his own roll on Party Poker, but took $500 out of her bank account for another deposit and proceeded to lose that as well. She couldn't pay her credit card bill that month because she only had around $700 total. The saddest part is that she is still with him.
  10. At the casino on Thxgiving Day? Degenerates!I'm not going until tomorrow. Most likely at the Caeser's new room doing 3/6 or 1/2.
  11. I read that one. I'm still reeling over the story of him turning something like $60 into 100k the first time he stepped into a California cardroom.
  12. Congrats on all the success dude. Wasn't it just a couple of months ago that Jayson was talking about you and him playing the 30/60 someday? Look like that came early. Speak of which what is going on with JW anyway?
  13. The AC Caeser's room is already open if that is what you are referring to.
  14. Do you think the pros pop wood when these two take thier winnings and sit down at a cash game?
  15. Ok, I see the hand and I have to ask you: How the hell do you not reraise him all in after he reraised you on the river?? I mean, wow.Read the hand man, it's a limit game. I bet he was wishing it was NL though.
  16. Hellmuth: I called an all-in with AQ against AA and lost. No one in the world can know how bad of a suckout that is and how unlucky I got. Everybody else is a chump, and I'm Phil Hellmuth.
  17. What do you mean? As in from one player to another player like you can do on Party? I'm pretty sure Bodog does not have a features like that.
  18. Aki didn't cap the flop, and unless he has been getting way out of hand previously the guy has no reason to label him as a serious LAG. You only win this half the time if you assume both of your overcards are good, which is an assumption that I don't think he can make here. If there a couple more people in the hand maybe, but heads up capping here for value doesn't make sense to me. This cap is to take control of the hand and try to get a free turn card. If the turn is an A, and villain bets, you are raising?
  19. Mmm I love the White House too. Can't wait to get one of thier cheesesteaks again. Yea I guess I'll try the Borgata, and then back to the Trop which is my regular room.
  20. Most of the online players are losers. How is this news? I don't think anyone here has the illusion that it is easy to make a living playing online poker.A lot of the winners are winners only in the sense that they do every monthly reload and get rakeback. If you take these things away the winners circle would go way down. I know tons of people in college who claim to be live/online winners, yet can't answer a question about thier bb/hr win rate or specific profits. When all your financial records on detailed on a site's cashier history and you'd rather guess that you're a winner instead of c
  21. I'm meeting up with a bunch of college buddies and will be in AC friday night til Saturday night. It's not a serious poker trip but many hours of poker will be played. I'm looking for any good bars or places to eat, hopefully not gimmicky casino buffets but good local stuff that's a short cab ride away from the Boardwalk. We are getting there 9-10 PM on a Friday and the plan is to just have a drunken all nighter session in the poker room. What's a comfortable room for low limit poker and 1/2NL that will go all night? I've played the big three (Borg, Trop, Taj) but figured I might try a sma
  22. Play more hands in position, play more suited and connected cards. This is one of the easiest types of games to beat, although the swings will tend to be larger. Don't worry about throwing away the best hand on a semi scary board when there is little money in the pot. The pots you will take down will more than compensate for this,
  23. Poker to make a living = grind.Poker as a nice 2nd income = win.
