This is gonna be some extremely rough guesstimating math but:90%+ fav to win on the flop usually means your opponent is drawing to 2 outs or runner runner. In the case of 2 outs thier chance to catch out of 45 remaining cards in a deck is roughly 0.067. 10 times in a row would be 0.067^10 or 1.8E-12. This is assuming the flop situation is something like you have the opponent's hand dominated and you both catch a pair on the flop.

nl - playing against people who raise to 6 x the bb
Sushiman replied to bascomeb's topic in General Strategy
Find out thier range of hands and play accordingly. At the Atlantic City casinos a standard preflop raise in 1/2 NL is about $15 on weekends. Am I folding Aj to someone who raises 40% of his hands just because he didn't read the "4x bb = standard" rule? Hell no. What I do hate is the guy who plays every hand and makes an absurdly small raise every. damn. time. -
Isn't Phil Hellmuth a notorious loser at limit games?
-
Don't tell him if you like money and won't feel bad about it afterwards. However, one time I was trying to play and eat at the same time and was holding my cards too high. A kind elderly gentleman told me he could see my hands and after that I decided if there was at least one honest player at the tables I would like to be another one. So, I always inform people in this situation....unless they proved themselves to be dicks.

With his billionaire status Mr.Dikshit can buy all the Chesty Larues and Busty St.Clares he can handle. Still a greedy bastard for getting rid of the 5k freerolls though.

I goto Rutgers. Our football team are a bunch of pampered, undeserving, losers who suck up educational funding and are given every academic luxury because the president of our college would rather attend every game than do his real job. Sry, just had to get that in there.

There was a debate on the 2+2 forums on whether live 2/4 is beatable in the long run due to rake structure and (assumed) tipping. I don't know the math behind it but a 10% rake capped at $4 does not seem bad to me, possibly because of the looseness of the games at AC. Does anyone else have an opinion on this?

We are not crazy like you. Multitabling for 4+ hours gives me a major headache. I can go all day and night at B&Ms though, mostly due to drinking.

Yea seriously, having a low bankroll does not mean you have no shot at big money with all the satellites running nowadays. Play some $50 or $100 MTTs if you really think you are that good and if you can cash consistently you should be well on your way to a good roll.

It is 10x. They only give you 3 days to clear it, but still very doable.

haven't done pso's pacific promo? now's the time!

Nevada Jacks and Sands are sweeeeeet chips. Too bad I already did all those promos with the exception of Titan Poker. -
I had 1010 vs AK and got it all in preflop. Flop comes 10 5 5. Turn 5, river 5. Other guy wins with the A kicker against my 10. Basically cost me a spot to cash in an MTT. I was at my friend's dorm and I think 4 people watched me just fall out of the chair to the floor.

Wow, that guy was getting way out of hand with top two pair on the turn. I would have figured someone for the set/straight and slowed it down,

It seems to be some weird promotion they are doing, and everyone is getting the popup. Log into Party and see which one you get offered because they are account specific. Bean obviously got the better one as I got a "USETOWIN" code which only offers 20% max $100. Still, I'll take it!

I'm sure you can find some on google, but some members of FCP have rakeback arrangements with Empire and you can do it through them as well. Try contacting either Jaysonweber (the webmaster for this site) or Custom36 for further information.

That's a lot of hours. I get burned out seeing like 2k hands a day,
-
As far as I know party does not really do rakeback. However, Empire poker takes you to the same tables and does indeed offer rakeback through affiliates.

If you have the BR for it and feel good about the game, then definitely move up and go for it.

What's the most ridiculous or impressive acting you've seen while playing live poker?I remember one time I was playing 2/4 in AC, 4 people in and the flop comes out 5 8 k with two diamonds. Young woman in early positon bets, folded to geezer in seat 4 who calls. Turn is 2, young woman bets and old man calls. River is a 7 of diamonds and the woman bets.......and the old guy goes to town. He leans over the table, puts on his reading glasses, then asks really loud, "what's that last card? Is it a DIAMOND? Oh it is a DIAMOND? In that case I RAISE." Of course, woman calls and flips over 5 10, the

Going to AC this weekend as well, asssuming I don't get dragged to the US Open. I'm going to automatically assume Borgata will be jam packed and stick to playing drunk limit holdem at the Trop.

Gas is now $3.18 in my area of New Jersey, the land of what used to be 1.13 per gallon.

Push all in with AA and KK preflop, limp with any Ax suited and all pocket pairs, fold everything else. If you hit flush/set on the flop, instantly push all in. Otherwise fold.

Don't most live casinos offer a decent chunk of change for just having a royal? I've never been to Vegas, so I dunno about the card houses here, but every casino I play at here in CA does offer a bonus. Not really. I play at AC and most casinos don't offer any chunk of change I would consider "decent." The Tropicana lets you spin a stupid wheel where you can win pointless crap like a tshirt or cheap electronics.

I have real money accounts on both and w hore the monthly reload bonus on both sites. So far all my cashouts have been lightening fast with no problems on either end.

People get 1k PSO points per referral. And PSO is totally awesome. I did 3 promotions over the summer and it worked great for me. I've still got some points left over and I can't decide whether to save it so I can get PP gift certificates later or to just get some free Copegs.
