  1. I played in Event #39 this year ($1,500 NLHE) and did well...but did not cash. My play is not the topic of this post.Upon sitting down to play level 1, my table was being bombarded by the table next to us. This woman would not SHUT UP!!!! I finally asked the dealer if bounties were ok? He laughed...and I asked the table to post $50 each to put a bounty on her head. We all agreed. One of the guys at our table went over to announce the bounty...and kindly asked her to tone it down.A combo of her non-stop chatter and her annoying voice was enough for anyone...plus she was not hot. Then, what

  3. Yeah...he had a team match. Watch his video blog...he talks about teaming with his caddie.
  4. LMFAOI am surprised she lets them change the cards during the 6 weeks of the WSOP.Or maybe she is on the take at UB
  5. Shove and dance...Only two hands that really matter, AA and KK. What are the chances you are facing them.In a larger buy in, I want more post-flop action.
  6. Do we really want to be AIPF with 44? We have plenty of chips to find a better place to shove.
  7. I guess I need more info on the min raise guy. Here are the issues:1. Is he likely to continuation bet...and if so, how strong?2. Has he been tight or loose?3. Will the blinds likely call?4. What is my image? This one is tricky...if I have a tight image and raise and get shoved, then I am against a monster.I do NOT want a three way pot with me AIPF. A raise here should get rid of any medium hands. If I was the BB and only one other person in the pot, I shove.
  8. Your point about committing too much is a valid point.I would consider my moves in this order:1. Standard Raise2. Fold3. ShoveMy table image could change the order...but a shove would not be consistent with a tight table image. BTW, 1,300 left would not be too short a stack. If you flopped bottom pair, would you shove?I know that is not a clear comparison, but it is consistent with the mentality. In short, I do not like to shove less than 3/4 handed with low pairs (under 99). I would rather coin flip with KQ suited than 44.
  9. Re-raise...if he shoves, fold...if he calls, you have narrowed his hands.
  10. Given the BB is the big stack...and 44 is = to bottom pair, I would make a standard raise. A standard raise is likely to get a marginal hand to fold out of position. Shoving broadcasts the marginal value of your hand.
  11. Sounds like quite an event! When is your next birthday?
  12. I am on my way to Zurich next week...does anyone know if there are poker rooms there? If yes, where should I go?Thanks in advance!
  13. I agree with the previous posts...call and see a flop.I am not sure it is relevant, but what did you do and what was the outcome?
  14. Thanks for the feedback. While the odds are correct to the river, I looked at the odds on the flop that results in a 10 - 1 odds (if I did my math right). At that point I figured I would be priced out given prior hand action (assuming a $100+ bet on the flop). As for the show...it paid off. I knew what I was doing. I had been stealing pots and bought a ticket to continue with that show.
  15. I will now finish the story:I did decide to fold and the flop came KJX. Both guys got all in and turned over AA and JJ. I would have won the pot.I had the dealer hold my cards and flip them after the flop. The table then decided to tell me how wrong my move was. I suspect if I have avoided disaster they would have praised me. My math tells me it was a marginal call assuming a K and a J is unlikely to flop (in other words both stacks are unlikely to be in play).I am and was happy with my decision. In hindsight I would be about $800 richer had I called. Thanks for the insight and comments.
  16. I am interested in feedback on the following situation:$2/$5 NLH Cash GameIn middle position you find KK with two limpers. You raise to $35.The Rock two from the button makes it $85 total and the person to your right makes the call for an additional $80. You are positive that the Rock has AA given his play over the past several hours. You are also positive the person to your right has a top pair. Each of them have about $350 remaining and you have them covered. What do you do?
  17. Husker...making my annual trek next weekend.
  18. I hear you can sell a baby for a tank of gas.
  19. Can't complain about God service!A lot of good ideas. I had been deciding between Del Friscos and Lawrys. I have been to the Del Frisco's in Dallas and it is outstanding!I am not sure I can stomach going to Circus Circus or Binions...maybe I am missing out.One place that I like that nobody mentioned is the Range at Harrah's. I recommend the crab artichoke appetizer. Thanks again for all of the ideas and entertainment!Nice picture dna
  20. I love how TV editing has such a big impact on the public opinion.I listened to the Jamie Gold interview on the Circuit from 1/26/2007 (look it up on iTunes for free). Prior to listening to this I thought he was a jerk.
  21. Every year a group of us (guys) go to Vegas for the NCAA tournament. I am in charge of the steak house each year and thought I might take some suggestions.Price is not an issue, but quality meat is.Please provide both places you like and places you suggest I avoid (please refrain from the obvious comments like Outback). Thanks!
  22. I walked in...played 3 hands of blackjack...and could not get out fast enough.
  23. Come on...give me more credit than that. My Avatar has a poker reference to it...it is a picture of Gretchen Mol (actress in Rounders). And she is not naked.
