  1. its been absolutely ages since ive had an all in vs someone who has a flush draw on the flop/turn. this may happen on the lower limits, but its very rare i find at 2-4NL.how does such a scenario happen? the guy with the flush draw either semi bluffs the flop with position on you, and you flat call expecting to check raise on the turn (or least thats the way id most likely play it), or if he doesnt have position then he surely check-calls.i never have all my chips in the middle unless a) i have the nuts by the river vs a tight player. or B) i have have near nuts vs a loose player.other than tha
  2. I've read theory of poker, advanced holdem for tourneys, and some books written by Mcevoy and TJ Cloutier (which I think are garbage). I've never had time to go out and get a copy of SSHM, I guess because I figured all the concepts were explained in one way or another in theory of poker or advanced tourney.I usually play NL .25/5, and I was wondering if SSHM could really help, or is it just for limit?
  3. I don't really know why, but I used to hold some grudge against Phil Gordon. Maybe it's just cause of celebrity poker. Or I guess he's just the player I'll never be.I wonder what DN thinks of Phil Gordon? Seems pretty solid to me, and after the story about the lay down of kings, I've definately given him more respect.
  4. I'd like for someone to correct me if I'm wrong, but I read in a magazine (don't remember which one) that at the WSOP (not sure if it was the main event or not), at the final table there was a very good laydown made by one of my favorite poker players. It went like this....Mike "The Mouth" was first to act with pocket queens. He made a small raise. Then Phil Gordon (holding pocket kings) made an obscene re-raise.Next to act was Good ol' Hellmuth, who had pocket Aces. He moved all-in, and if memory serves me correct he had both of em covered.Matusow shows his hand to the crowd and mucks it....G
  5. I got in some trouble concerning some $$$ I had in my car that the K-9 unit smelled and the cash was seized by the police. I didn't have any drugs on me, just $$$, and when I told my lawyer about it he said that about 70% of all cash has the scent of some sort of drug on itFood 4 thought
  6. Yo, I've been lurking around this site for quite a bit now, and I keep reading about how everyone is expanding their bankroll and racing to 5,000, then to 10,000 and so forth. I was wondering what the best way to expand your bankroll REALLY is... Is it better to go the route of limit, or no limit? I'd really appreciate a reason for whichever answer you give also. I started with 100 dollars in a poker room account, and played nothing but NL. I started at .25/.50, worked my way to .5/1, then magically one day at the .5/1 table I made 500 bucks. To make things eve
