  1. I made the mistake of letting my sister talk me into teaching our family members how to play poker. I used to be preschool teacher, so I would have the patience to do it, but after having to explain what the "little blind" was to my Mom for the 100th time, I never wanted to look at a deck of cards again. I have quite a few friends who have also asked me to teach them how to play, but I am now seriously having second thoughts about putting together a game to show them how. Does anybody have suggestions on the easiest way to go about teaching other people?
tell them to watch it on t.v
I learned the basics from a friend and then learned how to really play by watching the pros on TV. Maybe I'll make a "poker tape" will be mandatory viewing before I'll teach anyone.Does anyone have any book suggestions that are good for beginners?

  3. I've keep seeing these Krablar threads and ignoring them because I didn't know what a Krablar was. Now that I have finally read one and found out it is K3, I have to tell you how shocked I am am that the Krablar happens to be my favorite hand. I always play it. I win with it so much, my friends get nervous everytime they see a K or 3 on the flop. I've never done the Krablar dance although I have been known to do the occasional victory lap around the table during home games. It's official now ... I definitely belong here.

  4. Holy!....1 49 7 Alan Boston 493,300That guy was at your table? Ouchie, he's chipleader now
Yeah... He's got all my chips. He's the one who called with the A9.Then I was told he went on to tear up most of the rest of the table after I left also.
If he makes it to the final table and wins, you'll know that your chips helped get him there. Won't that be nice.
  5. 2005-04-19 15:45:00 Title: CardPlayer.com's Feature Table- Updates on Negreanu and Fischman Log: At one of our featured tables on CardPlayer.com, table 42, Daniel Negreanu has just doubled up. Once down to about $30,000, Negreanu has just over $71,000 and is looking very healthy. By far the most active table today is featured table 43 . With Erick Lindgren, Tony Ma, Scott Fischman and Danny Nguyen, the action has not been lacking. Lindgren at one point was all in, and the WPT Bay 101 champion Danny Nguyen was eliminated earlier today. Scott Fischman has been right in the middle of this action and was a little suprised by it, "so far so good today, the table's kind of crazy and there is a lot of action. I am trying to stay out of the way and pick up a few pots here and there. I'm up to $63,000 by the second break so I'm happy." I wish they would give us more info on how DN doubled up.

  6. Daniel Negreanu (seat 1) raised to $700 from the button, Matt Russell (seat 2) called from the small blind, and Leonardo Fernandez (seat 4), who had limped under the gun, raised to $1,700. Negreanu and Russell both called. The flop came Ac-7h-6h, Russell checked, Fernandez bet $3,000, Negreanu called, and Russell called. The turn card was the 4d, Russell checked, Fernandez bet $15,000, Negreanu folded instantly, and Russell called. The river was the 9d, Russell checked, and Fernandez pushed all in for about $26,000 more, and Russell finally folded. Fernandez increased his chip stack to about $76,000.
