  1. In a nutshell here is what happened...1) I got a referral from a friend so I signed up to see what the fuss was about2) Deposited 100 bucks3) Got a warm welcome from someone whoring out their freerolls, welcoming me, congratulating me on my deposit etc etc4) Get to playing a couple of cash tables, double up on both with an insanely hot run of cards5) Account gets suspended.Literally like 15 minutes in, my account is suspended for absolutely no reason. I call up India to find out what the deal is and once again, the language barrier completely negates the possibility of me getting a straight an
  2. I have one but I have gone from big winner to break even at best over the last six months so either my upswing is over or my downswing sucks balls. Pretty much I just ***** a lot.
  3. Been a while since I saw an acronym I didnt know...Wa/Wb?
  4. I should probably have mentioned that I play short handed (5 or 6 max)...cheers for the responses fellas.
  5. The following scenarios.Lets assume its your average donk-tastic 3/6 limit game on PP with predominantly LP players and maybe someone going LAG from late position...1) Your BB with 33, folded round to the button who makes a standard raise to 6, sb folds you...2) Your in the SB with A3 suited. Button raises to 6, you....3) In the cut off with Q 10 suited, folded utg and mp, you...4) Your BB with 78 suited, folded round to the button who makes another raise to 6, SB folds you... how about if the sb calls?I know these are generic scenarios and as such I wouldnt necessarily create a post like this
  6. I agree, if you bet the flop, you get a much better idea of where your at, I also lead the turn. Im no limit expert, but I look at the hand and figure it to be a pretty standard, if awkwardly played hand... you looking for anything inparticular???I know, supposing you have checked from the sb after flopping an ace, does anyone fold the flop to a bet and a raise?
  7. Hey, I was utg and fairly new to the table. Im interested if the limp utg is "correct", Im just rediscovering limit atm and would have raised 77 in the cutoff or later but utg didnt seem apt. As for reads on the button, I hadnt seen him go to showdown yet and had only been at the table maybe 3 orbits so had nothing concrete to go on.I felt ok about the hand until he raised me when KQ made perfect sense but I thought there was value in the three bet. If it had been him three betting I think I might have just called. In terms of the flop, I did wonder whether I lost the opportunity to raise him
  8. This is where I think your making a mistake, given the level, I can almost guarantee that he has no idea what your range is and probably little idea that your anything like a tag.You played the hand well, have been outflopped and for me, I would want more than 2/1 to make this call as I would expect to be dead to 2 outs. That being said, if you were right, I got nothing but love for ya.
  9. This hand isnt OVERLY interesting, but I am interested in 2 aspects....1) Can I afford to / Should I slow it down on the flop?2) Given the flop action, does anyone not three bet the river?Preflop: Hero is UTG with 7c, 7s. Hero calls, 1 fold, Button calls, SB completes, BB checks.Flop: (4 SB) 5h, Qs, 7d (4 players)SB checks, BB bets, Hero raises, Button calls, SB folds, BB 3-bets, Hero caps, Button calls, BB calls.Turn: (8 BB) Kc (3 players)BB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, BB folds.River: (10 BB) Kh (2 players)Hero bets, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, Button caps, Hero calls.Final Pot: 18 BB

  11. Smells a lot like a block bet... I kinda flit in and out of using PT because it is so cumbersome after 50k hands BUT I gotta ask... 18 / 6 / 9.018% VPIP?6% raise? What is 9.0? If I know that I can start giving more educated responses. I shoulda asked a long time ago lol.
  12. aight cool, appreciate the help man.
  13. Hey man, I tried to do a quick sum to work out my equity while mulling over the offer but then realised I didnt really know what I was thinking... I kinda had a figure I felt was fair given my odds against these 2 and the offer was close enough. What is the ICM you mention? Also, you reckon its normal to feel a little 'deflated' after dealmaking or am I being naive?
  14. Ok, Im pretty new to the tournament scene, have been at it about a month now after playing cash games for a living for a year or so but I wanted to talk about something that is new to me... deal making. The last two times I have made final 2 it has finished through deal making, we went with chip count deals both times so I effectively won on and got higer than second place money on the other one but both times it felt like a slightly hollow victory.I placed "2nd" in one today and again, we made the deal when we hit final three. Let me give you as much detail as possible and you can advise me wh
  15. I never thought I would say this, particularly as poker is my profession but I am so addicted to golf it sick... I choose golf.
  16. I made the call because I had taken away a bunch of raised pots already because when he was weak, he bet really weak. Do other people think this is an automatic fold pre flop?As for the blinds, the final table was crrrrrazy and there were only 100 runners. I think the first 5 in the final table were out within 2 orbits. On the flop, I sensed weakness so I raise. His usual line is to call and fold on the turn so far. When the J hits the turn, I think a big bet carries less 'weight' than a small bet. Surely the 12k looks like im begging for a call? Or am I being naive? The general concensus so fa
  17. PLEASE excuse the format. The hand convertor Iuse doesnt seem to be working with tournament hands !?!Ok, here is the picture. 55 MTT on Party this morning, I made final 2, got heads up with a 2-1 chip lead and was back and forth getting him low, grinding him down then he was getting back through coin flips. Villan was a reasonable player but hadnt shown a great deal of aggression and I was doing pretty good taking pots away from him... 18. Lead for about 20? Your still ahead of a bunch of weaker hands (8s-Js, A7suited, AK? all of which I can see calling this flop), if he plays back at you you can be pretty certain your behind. The other possible line is to keep the pot small, check and try to guage information from his bet however this is a green light to take the pot from you.
  19. This is a real long shot... but it coulda been QQ that went into call down mode when raised. Thats not too uncommon but I am clutching.Definately the right laydown I woulda thought. If you did have him, it wont be too long till you get it in where you can be a damn site more certain you got him.
  20. Agreed, against some players I wont necessarily call the re-raise but as you have position, its all gravy t call. You hit almost as good a flop as you could so now you gotta find out if your hand is good. The best way to do that is raise the flop to around 20 and take it from there. As played, on the turn, I think your crushed now but 26 to win 140ish would suggest a call and hope he is playing something funky.
  21. You right, the hand given isnt a great example.I often find myself on this kinda flop, hitting, raising and if the raise or bet is called I dont know how to proceed. Like, while playing this, I wasnt hapy that I basically went into call down mode. I wondered if people would pop the turn again even though it basically commits me to playing for a buy in. I will find some other examples and re-post.
  22. OK... Something I notice when I am playing cash games is I lose a lot of mid sized pots trying to play position. i tend to give up if my Cbet is called unless I got a great read on my oppo and I sometimes get caught in pots with vulnerable hands. Talk me through this as an example... Ok or weak hand overplayed? Villain is Semi Loose, aggressive in places and is involved in around 40% of pots. We hadnt tangled too much up until now.MP ($244.46)Hero ($592.30)SB ($477.60)BB ($428.90)UTG ($532.59)Preflop: Hero is Button with Qs, 9d. SB posts a blind of $2. 2 folds, Hero raises to $14, 1 fold,
  23. For me, a LAG is someone who plays a wide range of hands, makes good use of the C-bet and continues to put people to tough decisions post flop with a range of hands. The kinda player who plays 30%+ pots, always follows it up with flop bets and usually with the turn and gets good value out of most hands. There are some players that close up after one bet, some who keep going on all three streets, the mroe they probe at you the trickier they are to read. LAG's are also the players who dont just settle for a bet and a call, they are looking for raises and re-raises to take control of the pots they
  24. Tell you what eddie... Your great. You played each of these hands perfectly and are ready to turn pro. Your arrogance will be your downfall though champ. Good luck.
