  1. Really unfortunate that this year they not only have changed locations of the tournament but the attitude as well. Benny Binion started the tournament so his friends could get together and name a champion, it was about the poker, not the money. It sickens me how large money hungry corporations suck the life out of great traditions like the WSOP. It wouldn't set them back much to transfer the buy-in and maintain an ounce of intregrity. Truly an unfortunate scenario.
  2. The "newbies" aren't the ones who are wrong here, its the OP and the "regulars". Some of the people with hundreds or thousands of post act like this is their forum, and new posters are invading. This is DN website, and his forum. He puts up the prize pool not you, and he wants to attract people to his website. He didn't create the forum for only those who post 75 times a week, he created it for all fans of him and of poker, or anyone who is interested in stopping in. No one can sign up and automatically have 2176 posts, so everyone here was a newbie at one point. I know that well respected mem
  3. ....and i do know about toogood. He is on my ever growing list of people who i should ignore, but sometimes simply can't.
  4. Oh, I most definitely didn't mean to imply that DN is on the level with Doyle and Chip, but those two should almost be left out of the conversation of poker greats. Its like Michael Jordan... you just assume everyone knows he's the best, you don't even have to say it.However, as of today DN is one of the best players in the world, and comparing him to anyone is not "hysterical".
  5. it's the truth --ehe is a good player wh o had a great run and it came at the right time--so i will leaveit at that---congrats on that---to compare him to chip reese or phil ivey or doyle brunson that is hystericalWhat is really hysterical is that you act like you know so damn much about the exact talent and skill level of these players. How many times have you made it to day 2 of a WPT event? Do you know Ivey and Brunsons talent level because you play with them in the big game? All you know is what you see on TV and hear people talk about. You do not play with these guys, and you certainly don'
  6. I don't think anyone has mentioned this, or told RayAllen, but Bleu329 is one of the better players on FTP. The guy/girl regularly plays the $25/50 NL and other high limit games and has a very strong tournament record. I am pretty sure that he/she is an online pro. Just to let you know.
  7. This isn't serious is it?Even in the Big Game 500k is a good night and Ivey plays in multi day tournaments where only first gets over 500k. You think he plays three or four days in a tournament to win a million but he doesn't care about the prospect of making a half million in a couple hours? your crazy.
  8. Hey DN Just wondering if anyone else has expressed interest in the HU matches?Anyone up for a NL game? And curious how you and Barry decided this schedule for the WSOP... did you two talk or was there an intermediary?GL with the matches.
  9. Anyone heard anything further about the Cardplayer reports of either Wisconson or Montana legalizing online poker to try to bring some of these companies there? I remember reading this and the state was trying to do it to attract the companies for the massive tax revenue it would generate. It also may be great for a site that does open in the U.S. as people would trust it much more, and be more willing to keep real money or substanial amounts of money in the account.Personally I love the idea and really hope it happens.
  10. New post from ProjectSix saying a conclusion to the chop mishap:"Hey everybodyI was surprised to see today that my UB account was credited with $2050. UB told me in an email that champking had sent me this money (since there is no account history, I was not sure if champking had sent it or UB took it from his account). They told me they had discussed the matter with champking through email. They asked me to transfer my original share ($675) of the 3 way chop to AtticusAA and they would have champking do the same. I have already sent UB an email asking them to transfer the $ to Atticus and he s
  11. I'm assuming that the "Aruba prize package" could be waived for a cash payout? If not, how could you chop this? Someone had to win the tourney, didn't they? What he meant was he was playing heads-up for the Aruba prize package on one table (which he won) and was down to the final three where the chop took place at another table. He said he was paying more attention to the Aruba table because it was worth more and that is why he was confused by what was happeniing with the chop.
  12. In this case UB refuses to deal with chops. The winner seems to have been the shady one, because ProjectSix, the 2nd place finish is a regular poster over at pocketfives.com and started a thread to clear up the confusion. This is what he said:"HelloFirst I apologize for all the confusion. I'd like to explain myself here. I was playing a heads up match for the Aruba prize package and playing close attention to it as first prize got the prize package and second just $750. On the owns tournament, I was playing my cards not paying attention. They were talking about a chop, and I agreed upon a $140
  13. Nice first post!Introduce yourself to everyone as an ignorant rasict. Just to let you know, this is a poker forum, you may be better served at a Klan rally or something...
  14. You guys are crazy. That article was so 1.4. You are just a bunch of Budget Boys who are never on point because you can't turbo shop or ever pull any pluckworthy honeys. Antonio is Rocks and Rings! Oh, I gotta go I got a bite on the line and think I'm gonna hotwire.
  15. You might not like the way he wears his hat or his clothes, but to say he isn't that good is just ridiculous. He has had an amazing year so far, and took two horrible beats at final tables in big money tournies (one of them to DN). He is one of the best online players in the world and is showing that he is a top tier live tournament player as well.
  16. I slept for 8 hours and woke up and flopjunkie and FAR are stil ****KING playing. It has been over 30 hours!!!!
  17. FLOPJUNKIE IS BACK! He is back with ANOTHER 30k.This FAR guy just said to someone that he is Keyser. Anyone know who that is?
  18. Wow. I think its finally over. Flopjunkie was busted at both tables and just left.Final tally: Far has $235667 at one table and $74550 at the other. (He also pocketed abot 35k earlier). What a session.
  19. i feel like I'm watching a car crash. This guy might kill himself. You gotta hand it to him though, he is not a quitter!
  20. I am pretty sure FAR bought in for 30k at each table. One thing to consider, at the table were he currently has 70k, flopjunkie left and so did FAR, then they both came back and started over. Someone on pocketfives.com said the match has been over 20 hours, and I have been checking in on it for about 12. FAR is up about 230k just from this one guy! Unbelieveable.
  21. The difference between DN and Oppeniems match was it was a freezeout w/ only 50BB, this game has been 10 hours of pure domination. They are still going and FAR has over 200k at one table and 60k at the other. It has been absoloting amazing. At one point he said "1 more rebuy" then lost it and re-bought at both tables. Then he left one table for a while, got beat playing a single table, so he rebought for two tables again and got cleaned out. This guy must be crazy. He has been getting dominated all damn day.Hell of a day for Far though. I'm pretty sure he won't be sleeping until flopjunkie is de
  22. over 180k and keeps rebuying. Its unbelieveable.
  23. This guy flopjunkie has been playing HU 300/600 with a guy named Far for like 6 or 7 hours and is down well over 100k. Anyone know who either of these two are?
  24. Not only do I not see anything wrong with what DN is doing, I love it. These guys want to make comments about the challenges and the when Daniel even gives the a discount they can't because of book commitments or the odds aren't right. Well Oppenhiem didn't ask for any odds, and I'm sure many other players will show up not asking for odds.DN is offering to play anyone at their game and their price. IMO he is already laying enough, and if these two won't accept his direct challenge they should just flat out say no.
  25. This is the reply from Slansky:"It is important to understand that the terms I said I would agree to were not actually made as a challenge to Daniel. Rather they were to counter any perception that I consider myself a substantial underdog to the ultra high players and would avoid them at any cost. Keep in mind I would not take 11-10 on a 100K as a 52% shot. But again for the record, if Daniel is that anxious to play me in a way that the Bellagio won't particularly mind, I will go on record as saying that I will risk my own money in the following three ways:Hi Lo Regular getting 33,000 to 30,000
