  1. Yeah, I mean, its not a bad call for sure but its close. Here is what I think is probably closer to your range than the first one I posted and if he is getting 1.67 to 1, its a call (I was going by Cop's calcs from earlier). Still sucks.Text results appended to pokerstove.txt 219,174,912 games 0.005 secs 43,834,982,400 games/secBoard: Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 36.190% 34.44% 01.75% 75477791 3842179.50 { Ac6c }Hand 1: 63.810% 62.06% 01.75% 136012762 3842179.50 { 55+, A8s+, KJs+, ATo+, KQo }
    your missing quite a few handsbut Im done!Grinder Bizzle what do you think
  2. I donno if it was already mentioned in this thread, but what did you have in that hand vs Kyle Kloeckner where you cbet, he raised, and then you looked like you were about to snap shove, but decided to muck after some thought? Were you just trying to get a read?
    Just a gutter/pair/I think 2 bd flush draws but one for sure. Actually almost did ship but pussied out :club: Thats such a dry flop he will cr that with air so frequently and I don't have terrible equity if called. He admitted to me after he would bluff a ton there but actually had it that time.
  3. Giving Jon a pretty fricking wide resteal range (I honestly don't think it is anywhere close to this wide given the situation and the fact that there are no antes).....Text results appended to pokerstove.txt 327,050,064 games 0.005 secs 65,410,012,800 games/secBoard: Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 39.096% 34.60% 04.50% 113158247 14705638.50 { Ac6c }Hand 1: 60.904% 56.41% 04.50% 184480540 14705638.50 { 22+, A2s+, KJs+, A7o+, KQo }
    prob not that far off if I'm shoving for value and Allen is potting/committing a v wide range like he was. I would fold dueces and 3s not sure if thats bad but if I had no f.e. I would. (pretty sure sticking it in w dueces is bad there but im not great at math)
  4. I agree with both of these but honestly JDep, without antes are you EVER, EVER restealing light there? 3 to 2 against your restealing range is never going to be good enough. Let me see if I can stove it.
    I already said, if he pots it I'm never restealing light bc he put in 25% of his stack and he aint folding. But if he min raises things can def change. I actually think he was getting better than 3:2, i dont want to do the math now but the stack sizes were: He had 280 to start I had him slightly covered. In the hand he opened to 70, and my reshove essentially puts him ai so I think he would be getting 1.67:1. My 280shove+his 70 in middle=350 he has to call 210. I doubt you will convince me a fold will be correct at that price given the hands I will shove for value. Maybe if he min raises things might change, but again so does the dynamic of the hand.
  5. Although I agree in theory with the bolded, once you put in a 3 bet in this spot because of items 1 and 2 that you outlined.......even much more so because in PL you aren't stealing as light so you would be giving him more credit than normal (he also hadn't been pounding his button much at all)..........so even though theory might say you can't raise/fold much at all there, he is crushed pretty much always.
    Well if hes going to raise/fold he has to min raise bc potting/folding is real bad you just put in too much of your stack. Iguess min raise folding mayyyyybe could be acceptable just bc in pot limit you need less chips to have a successful resteal stack. I could easily be wrong. I've played very few pot limit holdem tournaments in my life so maybe min-raise folding is ok. (but then you have to go into the whole theory of "oh he min raised so now I have f.e. and can resteal light" which in turn would make his fold bad etc etc)
  6. His play isn't horrible like alot of people are making it out to be...its actually a meh spot for him. He has 12ish bbs (280k at 12 24) , I'm obv not a fan of raise/folding w that stack,and not a fan of folding a suited ace on the btn there w his stack size/situation. Obviously it sucks for him once I 3 bet bc a)I'm never going to 3 bet light bc w that pot size open Allen is effectively committing himself and he knows that I know I have no f.e., so my shove is going to be purely for value 2) I'm playing very solid and not getting out of line since I was hurt badly by that blind battle w Max.Essentially he is shoving 12bbs in the middle with that pot raise, it would be pretty bad if he potted to 70 then folded and left himself with 210. Not really sure what you guys think is a better play?

  7. I think these were the only 2 biggish showdown hands I played that weren't reported: I think blinds 10k 20k Max limps I check Q3dd flop KQ8 w 2 spades he checks I check. Turn red 2 he bets almost min like 22k I call river 3 clubs he bets 35k I make it 80k he calls and mucks.I think blinds were 8k 16:Max open limps sb, I had raised his limps the last 2 times and 3 out of 5 overall between plo and holdem, and we had been going at it in blind battles so I check Q10 half suspecting a limp rr. Flop AQ10 r he checks I bet 28kish he calls turn 9 puts bd fd out there he checks I bet 60k he snap calls, I'm almost certain he has a weak ace or maybe KQ QJ. I was going to bet biggish on clean rivers and I'm pretty sure he woulda snapped....river offsuit J, he checks I check back he has QK :club:.thx for the rail everyone. I should have bluffed jammed the river against Max in that big pot early....so I'm kinda upset about that. I had AcKc3d4d and I actually almost called him on the river.. he said he had Kings and eights but not sure if I believe that given the way the hand played out and the river action....its possible tho. Besides that hand I was happy w how I played today even though I was tired as fk going on like 2 hrs of sleep since we played so late the previous night.Anyway, this really sucks considering I don't play that many tourneys and if I win that pot v AC I have the chip lead with direct position on the guy who was 2nd in chips and a table I felt that I could control especially short handed. Would have been nice to have some chips and not have to nit it up like you do in a pot limit ring structure. I really had an unreal shot at a bracelet if that holds......on the other hand I didn't play perfect obviously and made what I feel are mistakes in some spots on day 2. Oh welllll/whine

  8. Thx for the support guys....hopefully I can ship the bracelet tomorrow.Most of us are bunched fairly closely in chips so one double and I'm good. There were a few spots today that I thought were pretty interesting...one hand vs Cunningham that will have me thinking for a long time. If anyone is in Vegas and wants to rail feel free to come out.

  9. I think this guy is obviously a fake and have thought that since the beginning of the thread. I can't believe as many people are taking this as seriously as they have. The point is that it would be a diverting internet prank for someone to string along a bunch of people and get them to shuffle around a really significant amount of money. I don't know whether poker forums are supposed to be more honest or civil, but on any other forum I've ever frequented something like this would be a hoax and it would never have been able to get as far as it has.He's basically asking you guys to bet on a sure thing, how does that not make it immediately obvious?
    dudeIt took like 15 minutes of my time to send him the pms...I estimated that the chance of this bet ever happening was <1%, but what does it hurt to try? No money was "shuffled" around btw
  10. what about hoosier, any word if hes still in?
    Made the $ but busted 92nd or something....grinded a short stack for like 3 and a half hours and never really had any great spots to get chips. But honestly I don't feel like I played my A game today, maybe its tourney depression idk. I'm always ridic hard on myself after sessions/tourneys so I'm sad at the moment.
  11. poopy day. Busted in the first level, heres my bustout hand/only hand I saw past the flop:I have like 5kish at 600/1200 limits so I need to get the money in.co opens, I 3 bet AA9J ss he calls. Flop J 10 4 w fd he bets I raise he calls. Turn Q c, bet, call. River 10 he checks i put the rest in he calls w A1025 no flush draw sighhh.

  12. Here is the contract he accepted (Thanks to Naismith and Acid for writing this up):1) JC Alvarado ("PrtyPSux") will act as escrow for the bet.2) Bjorn Peters will place $25,000.00 in escrow, risking $25,000.00 to win $34,375.00.3) Jonathan Depa will place $34,375.00 in escrow, risking $34,375.00 to win $25,000.00.4) Bjorn Peters is victorious in the bet and shall receive $34,375.00 from escrow if Daniel Negreanu DOES NOT finish in 30th place or better in any 2008 World Series of Poker tournament event outside of the exempted tournaments listed in rule #6.5) Jonathan Depa is victorious in the bet and shall receive $25,000.00 from escrow if Daniel Negreanu DOES finish in 30th place or better in any 2008 World Series of Poker tournament event outside of the exempted tournaments listed in rule #6.6) The bet excludes 2008 World Series of Poker events #1 through 6, event #45 ($50,000.00 buy in World Championship H.O.R.S.E. event) and any World Series of Poker Circuit event or World Series of Poker Europe event. The bet includes 2008 World Series of Poker events #7 through #44 and events #46 through #55.7) Should Daniel Negreanu finish in 30th place or better in any of the non-exempt tournaments, the bet immediately ends and payment is made from escrow to Jonathan Depa in the amount of $25,000.00.8) Daniel Negreanu MUST compete in at least fifteen (15) non-exempt 2008 World Series of Poker events for Bjorn Peters to be determined victorious and receive $34,375.00 from escrow.9) Daniel Negreanu DOES NOT need to compete in at least fifteen non-exempt 2008 World Series of Poker events for Jonathan Depa to be determined victorious and receive $25,000.00 from escrow.10) Money must be placed in escrow with JC Alvarado no later than 12:00PM (noon) PST on June 5, 2008. Should either party fail to do so, the bet is void.11) Either party is permitted to sell any percentage of their interest in the bet, however, the principals shall remain Bjorn Peters and Jonathan Depa.

  13. Haven't heard back from Bjorn and I'm leaving for the Rio now.....won't be able to update until later (hopefully much later).Bjorn,Can you please pm Naismith as well once you accept? He will be around today and will be able to let you guys know the status better than me.edit: He PMed me and said he accepted.....now we just have to wait for him to send the $ to JC. I will make a list of ppls action later.

  14. Contract pmed to Bjorn....waiting on his response and then I will post it and start tallying up the official action.BTW, to everyone that wants in on this: I'm going to try my best to give everyone action who wants 1k+. I might not be able to give everything that you want but should be able to give at least a piece to most. Also, I won't be fronting $, so once he accepts I need the $ asap or your spot will be filled.

  15. Bjorn is going to put up $25k. We agreed upon a 1.375:1 price because it was a middle ground between the 1.25:1 I wanted and the 1.5:1 he wanted. So he is going to risk $25k to win $34,375. So we have to come up with $34,375. I'm willing to put up $15,000 initially and possibly more. Depends on other things but I have to see how much a few others want. If you want action on this bet please post the amt you want in this thread. I can't guarantee anything but I will try to accomodate everyone.I'll talk to everyone tomorrow.

  16. So, just so I'm clear here, you're transferring $25,000 to JC Alvarado tomorrow?At which point, if we talk to Hoosier, we can work out how that $25k will be matched (at the 1.25:1 price), or does that much just cover Hoosier's bet? Or is Hoosier going to be dividing it amongst those who are interested? How do I know my bet has been accepted, and so on.Also, I would want confirmation from JC that he's received your money before I send any of mine.
    Ill pm you tomorrow
