Chief replied to Dubey's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
all the jacks are clean if villain doesnt have AQ.i probably get it in here. -
if villain wants to play a big pot with Axhh he will find a raise easily on the flop--i myself enjoy playing big pots with the nuts from time to time.

hero felt like gambling and pushed. i was not hero this hand but someone not involved in this hand at the table.UTG had KJo, and one of the early callers had 88 and called. hero flushed on the river and won the potsomething i thought i would point out -- if you are pushing here (which is pretty tenuous even if your reads are quite solid) position doesnt play a big role in the hand at all really.

blinds 1/2, 200 max buyinthis game runs once a week and normally it is 2/5, 1000 max.many of the regulars at this game dont adapt and play it like 2/59 handed, everyone has at least 200 going into this handhero just bought in 3 hands agoUTG opens for $45and there are 4 callers of this raise.folded to hero in BB with Ac9c [200 behind]reads:utg - beating him currentlyother villains - anything, excluding AA-JJif we push - utg is definitely coming along. probably a dominating ace, or a pocket pair like 8s will come along w/ UTG. utg has something like KQ.this game plays pretty passively post flo

Most of the time they will not card you.An underage friend of mine will walk into the casino pretending to be deeply engaged in a conversation on his cell phone.Three friends of mine have been carded and were asked to leave immediately, but all of them got to keep their money/chips.If you get caught it depends on the floor and how they are feeling and your reaction.

epilogue of this hand / river play:he turned his hand face up while he thought about the push and in the most comfortable bedside manner i told him "yeah thats exactly what i put you on the entire way dude "after he made the call he was like "wow, you really masked your hand the entire way. but after you made that comment calling seemed appropriate"i really dont know what would have happened if i just acted normal and didnt react / kept quiet, i have a tendency to try to act overly natural when making movesi know opponent folds there a good amount, and probably a bit more if i shut up and don

tapeworm - at no point in the hand did i think i was ahead, and with the flop texture onward i didnt think i needed to be to win this pot.i am not worried about the reverse implied odds because i know i need more than a J to win, and with an A im either winning a small pot or losing a moderate sized onecobalt - this guy had been losing several pots all night long and had not raised preflop once in the span of 4 hours in a 6 max game. he had added onto his stack twice. behind my initial raise i think he would have popped harder with JJ downward or just smooth called. the minraise indicates t

im not completely sure what you are driving at but i think i have an ideaon the flop, villain pots it behind our check because he decides he has the best hand. we call the pot size bet.on the turn, villain fires again behind the check, because he could very well still have the best hand, although he isnt sure what is up with the cold call on the flop.on the river, we push, and villain pukes. but prior to pushing, villain probably thought he was protecting a small pot with the best hand which has now become medium sized and the board is not great.

-we're getting 3:1-we have 200bb stacks, so moderately deep-juicy implied oddsthis is nothing but the most straightforward call in the history of preflop calls

Some Weekly Tourney Strategy Help . . .
Chief replied to Devilkin's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
with a 25BB setup i would raise 88+ or KQs+, and opening with semi-loose raises that are still far and away more reasonable than what your opponents are playing eg: A9o, KJs. in this type of tournament exploit your opponents complete lack of preflop discretion by getting those chips in when you are ahead.in this case, you have no reason to think you are behind at this point and you should have no compunction raising the maximum amount that you think will get called. if you can even push and get 1 caller with something random like A3 or 98s you don't mind, you will take this edge all day.s -
hero's read is strong this hand and he's going with it.villain has a tendency with vulnerable best hands to overbet because he'd rather take down a small pot than jeopardize all his money and be put to the test in a big one. we're calling the flop + turn for some additional scarecards. (AKJ9...)the flop texture is pretty bad for villain's hand and villain knows it.i think a 4 is a better card for hero than a T river.
