  1. It's always frustrating to lose because you slowplayed a hand that was otherwise yours, but I agree that sometimes you need to take some risks to try to win a much bigger pot. Towards the end of a tournament you can't sit back and wait for huge hands because it's so rare when they come - you're often forced to gamble - so when you get one and you're confident you have the best hand straight through, there's something to be said for maximizing the opportunity and really cashing in. Of course you have to mix up your play and there's so firm set of rules but the idea of getting involved in a b
  2. Seems easy in theory - just never seems that easy in practice. If I'm at the computer then I'm gonna look at the emails. And if the phone rings it's rare I won't answer it. Even if I don't, if the message is important, it's hard to not call back for hours. It just seems to difficult to KNOW that nothing at all is going to come up at any point in the next 4 hours unless it's like 1 am.
  3. Serious question lol. How do you guys normally find large enough blocks of time to play multi-table tournaments online when you know you are free, won't be bothered, won't get any phone calls etc? It seems so rare that I can actually block aside a bunch of *consecutive* hours to play a MTT. I work during the day of course and except on rare occasions, there's no 3-5 hour block of time at night or on weekends where I can be sure that I won't get phone calls or want to watch the end of a game or something like that except really late at night which obviously requires getting no sleep for the
  4. Follow-up question:What method do you guys most use to make deposits and withdrawls from your accounts? Party Poker offers the ability to go directly into your bank account but most others don't seem to have this. I've used Firepay before for Stars and PP but they charge a small fee. Looks like Neteller charges a bigger fee...
  5. I'm sure this has been done in the past and I apologize if it was done recently, but I was just wondering which sites people here trust and recommend the most - particularly for tournaments. My primary experiences are with Party, Stars & Paradise so I was curous about Ultimate Bet, Full Tilt, Poker Room, Royal Vegas etc in terms of: # and range of tournaments offered, fair blind strucutre, ability to win (ie - quality of players), and overall trustworthiness of the site. Which is most recommended around here? Thanks...Also, which site are people using to try to win their WSOP seat and
  6. On Party the blinds go up very quickly so you have to make moves. Plus, Party is famous for people making small raises to try to steal blinds. It's very rare on Party that the button or cutoff *doesn't* try to steal blinds. If it appears to be a weak raise just to steal a blind, I will sometimes come over the top and move in with a halfway respectable hand - not just to pick up the chips, but to also take a stand and try to prevent against that in the next couple levels when not automatically losing your blinds is very significant. In addition, since people love to make those plays with Ac
  7. My new favorite thing from Sexton is that the last 2 weeks he seems to be misinterpreting or misreading cards a lot and getting all enthusiastic about nothing. One guy will have aces and another will have an inside straight draw on 4th street and need a 9 or something to hit it and he'll be like "<enthusiastically> Look at that!!! Well it's the 2 of diamonds <now suddenly lowers voice realizing the card had no effect on the hand whatsoever>...that means he'll need a 9 or he's out (which is exactly what he needed before since 4th street was a blank)." Good stuff!
  8. They are going public in London, but this is completely incorrect if you are talking about the US. Audited financials are a REQUIREMENT to be listed on any major exchange (ie - non pink-sheets) in the US. A registration statement must contain audited financials and they must be from within 135 days I believe from the date of the filing as well as each subsequent amendement. A registration statement absent current financial statements won't be declared effective by the SEC.
