  1. you said it would be much larger than that, no? even more smoking of a deal.
  2. ding ding! correct... not 70 something like some people have said, but still a good bet.
  3. ya, but the most common form of the question would be "what are the odds that I and some other player at the table flop a flush?"nobody cares about anyone else.
  4. really, the number of players doesnt matter? wouldnt my calculation be for 2 specific players getting the same suited cards? im pretty sure that the odds of 2 players flopping a flush are a lot greater if at a 9 player table than at a heads up table.
  5. ya because 1/2 NL live is EXACTLY the same skill level as 1/2 NL online, its not more +EV, the only reason to go to casino and pay more rake is for the "fun" of playing with chips and getting hit on by the gay dealer.
  6. dont all the major tournaments pull extra cash for dealers now? i know WSOP does, i guess i just assumed. tipping $50 is a pretty ******* move, like leaving a nickel on the table, better to leave nothing.
  7. 'smallball' doesnt work for everyone, some people prefer bigger pots, and at these kind of limits, 5x doesnt mean much anway.
  8. maybe he's used to playing nittier players?
  9. i think daniel is used to playing better players than us.
  10. he wont? why not, because you wont? lots of players raise w/wide varieties of hands for reasons just like this, the OP states that these hands are within his range, do you have some other info that OP doesn't?this is a tough spot between rr and call, obv fold is no option. sometimes check-raising the river will confuse players and they may think you are trying to take it away, so this may make it slightly more possible for the flush... man, i would take a while with this if i were in the spot. i'd prob. play it safe and flat call, but sometimes im a wuss in spots like this, so i could be wrong
  11. ? what does pushing the turn gain.... what better hand will fold/what worse hand will call? if he thinks 77 is best, check/calling river is obv best play.whether 77 is best is the question, im not too sure, flat call flop, minraise turn is usually pretty strong and i cant see any hand worse than 77 doing it, only way 77 is good if its against FD or air, which must've been your read
  12. cost you .10 more to call in a .90 pot and you are folding? seriously, would you fold it if it was limped to you since you dont want to play it out of position?
  13. 12/51 * 11/50 * 10/49 * 9/48 * 8/47 * 7/46 = 665280/12966811200 =~ .00005 or 1.026127/20000 or 1/19490.75 which is 19489.75 to 1your headsup calculation looks pretty close, i did it a little different, but close to same answer.
  14. hey, for the record, the milton beat me 2-1, not 2-0, i won the first match!
  15. sorry, ya i lost last 2 in a row. didnt want to pay the extra .25 in rake for a private and got caught in another match, chose to play both despite milton willing to wait, didnt play well in 3rd match at all, Milton FTW!
  16. the guy DID say he was having logon problems..... might've just been bad timing.
  17. you can watch it on nbc.com too, prob. better resolution, its not bad.
  18. where was the piece selling this time?? :Pgl bro.
  19. like i said, i dont care either way, nobody can have a huge edge on anyone else HU anyway. I can see the point that the best players should end up at the end most of the time, but i also think its unfair for new players to put against the most successful ones, therefore, either way fine by me, we should prob. put it to some kind of poll/vote.
  20. lol @ people saying blackjack tournaments are -EV. this one might be for you if you are inexperienced, but poker is the same thing. goldenpalace has a tournament blackjack site: goldenpalaceblackjack.com
  21. uhoh, im on FWP's side... please guys, don't hold it against me. j/k
  22. i dont have any serious issues with doing seeding, i think it's a good idea and would make things more interesting, but i don't think it's necessary to be "fair", either way is fine by me, just more work for someone.
  23. the other people in this bracket JOKINGLY complained about being in it, because this is supposed to be fun, it's not like we are playing for thousands of dollars here, at least i thought it was supposed to be for fun. He is the only one seriously whining about being put up against good players.
