  1. not necessarilyif i flop the nut straight w/ no redraws, and theres action on a real drawy board, its better to wait for a safe turn to pump it, and sometimes better to just fold it. if theres lots of action, the possibility of someone else having the nuts is pretty big, and if we have no redraws that means either they probably do or someone else is drawing at some big hands. either way were on the bad side of a freeroll. if the best we usually can get is a split and theres a good chance we lose the whole thing, id rather fold even if i have the current nuts. even HU, it wouldnt be awful to so
  2. might also depend on the players. better players wont pay off when the draw hits, unless youve shown you can bluff at bad cards. worse players might pay off some or all of the draws when they hit. worse players are also more likely to stack off here with 66 or JT or AA
  3. did you just make those up?thinking about it i dont think he's bluffing. i was just thinking "crap theres a million cards i have to dodge" then one hit and he insta shoved. i wasnt thinking about all the other hands he could have that i still beat. i was kinda sick after i folded.

  5. ok if you dont think eli manning has won a super bowl, then just stop talking. really.
  6. well he has 1 or 2 mediocre games (but left the field leading in both games, despite bad numbers) and people, especially ESPN analysts start in with the whole "the cowboys are doomed because Romo's psyche is damaged and he cant throw anymore" and then theyre shocked when he rolls off 3 or 4 great games in a row. he does this all the time, i dont understand why they seem to get so surprised. numbers dont lie and he has the best numbers in Cowboys history (yeah, including Staubach and Aikman) over his first x number of games (i dont know how many it is).
  7. fold, he has a set. barring reads, i havent seen anyone c/r any kind of draw ever. only sets. yes, even on extremely drawy boards.
  8. i dont always like 3betting pre with AAxx against decent players because unless he knows we can also 3bet like JT98ds, he pretty much can peg our hand and even out of position put us in some tough spots on flops like these (well, assuming we didnt have the fd to back up our AA). we have position and can somewhat take this away by checking back some flops, though then if he's as aggro as OP says he may just pot turn and river and give us a tough decision. im not saying i would never 3bet, but it does polarize our range a lot and against decent, thinking players this can be really bad.against ra
  9. how many starting QBs in the league are holders for field goals? he shouldnt have been taking the snap. its not his job. and i guess he didnt lead the offense down the field and get in position to even try the field goal in the first place?and i guess he was the one who dropped 2 touchdown passes that hit him in the hands against the Giants, not Patrick Crayton or Anthony Fasano. people who can only spout out what they hear on espn are hilarious.say i have a romo man crush if you want, but aside from Big Ben how many other QBs come in and win huge games in the playoffs their first couple years
  10. i dont come here much but COwboys fan since birth.Romo has had what 2 playoff games? and neither one of those losses were really his fault. in fact, hes the only reason we were in those games to begin with.Critics said Eli couldnt win a big game a month before they took the super bowl. I think its a big advantage for us that nobody believes in us this year. no pressure. i dont expect the world, but the division should be ours this year.
  11. this is just as good as bbfhave you seen the stuff posted in here?and as for shove pf meaning AA KK and QQ LOLi dont play many HU sngs but i know the general mindset of NL poker players today, and 88/AT heads up is the nuts.
  12. nice.im crushing the 100 PLO on FT right now (and up a bit on the 200 PLO but b/c of BR sticking to 100) for like 1300 over about a week and a half (since i started keeping track, more for a couple weeks b4 that) and ive found myself going "I know he has xxxx, but I'm gonna call this pot bet anyway hoping its a bluff" and been wrong almost every time. whether its the nut flush or straight on a paired board or middle set when villains been potting since the flop, I know im beat but call anyway and I would be up like 1700-2k over the same span had i made folds i "knew" i shoulda made on the rive
  13. zero value in raising, maybe really thin value in calling.you have the worst full house possible. if he's tight i could see folding here. barring real reads id just call.
  14. i wasnt asking for strat advice, just bitching. if his 3bet range is JJ+ and Ak then getting it in is bad, but against an unknown im pretty sure im pretty far ahead since its like AJ+, 77+ or something. im guessing. even after he shoves if it's like 88+ and AQ, AK i still have a call. and youre not really playing small ball when over 10% of your chips are in preflop
  15. HU sng. first hand blinds 10/20HERO has JJ, raises to 60villain raises 180HERO raises 500villain pushesHERO callsvillain shows AAflop: J 5 8turn: Ariver: 8maybe its too early to push JJ preflop, but im atleast seeing the flop and getting it in there, so outcome the same anyway. this is how i been running for a month and a half
  16. actually the idea came because i just finished the small ball section in DN's book which I just got. He specifically talks about betting less on the river with the best hand b/c people are afraid of losing all their chips w/o the nuts, but might call off 1/2 of them if they think they have the best hand.obv this is player dependent. but just because you or i would see that as "obviously the nuts" doesnt mean this player would. maybe he thinks you wouldnt bet all your chips on a bluff. but if you bet less maybe he thinks youre saving some chips if the bluff doesnt work. maybe he thinks were thi
  17. this is probably TT with a spade draw. also, dont count out random 2 and thinks he has the straight. last night i got a $45 bet called on the river by QT97 on a 88AJ6 boardbut even if youre beat its good info which should help you make back your money pretty soon. in spots where theres a good chance i have the best hand but villain might have runnered something, i dont mind paying off b/c im often still taking the pot and if not i get some good info to abuse later and get my $$ back plus some. win win.
  18. sure there is. will he fold the 2nd or 3rd nuts for his whole stack if it seems obvious we have the nuts?if not will he call for like 3-4k would he raise a smallish/weak looking bet?really, though, if you raise preflop like you should the river probably doesnt matter b/c were in by the turn
  19. do you just show up to point out mistakes and try to make people feel bad or do you actually have something to contribute?
  20. AND its an easy dump if you get 3bethow many people wanting to raise suited connectors, A-x and suited broadway are folding to 3bets?
  21. thats true, and against most tight players in the blinds i would def. raise.i would raise much worse than Q6s too.but if hes playing 50% of hands and folding a lot i doubt he has a big of a stack as he does. im folding IN THIS SITUATION, but Q6s is perfectly fine for a raise here most of the time.
  22. wait, eddieyou first say we're raising purely as a blind steal, then go on to point out where OP's read says villain is playing every other handand you still want to raise? that doesnt make sense.if we're raising purely as a blind steal, and the big blinds not folding, why are we raising?
