Yes I know for a fact it's difficult for atheïsts in recovery. But the word "God" is usually explained in meetings in a much broader context than just religious. When you think of something bigger than yourself that can be anything from nature to the meetings & people there. The whole idea behind it is so addicts realise they alone cannot save themselves, they often have tried to quit on their own, and have failed in the end.

It works for addicts, I've been to rehab & meetings aswell, and even though I know this could be a reason to get wildly sarcastic about them, they actually did help for me & for alot of other people aswell. The God they speak about in the 12 steps is individually different for everyone, they basically say anything that's bigger than you can be considered your God (for me that could be you or Buddha for instance ).Anyway I think like me, you would seriously benefit from going to meetings. I seriously hope you cash out the remainder of your bankroll aswell, just for the time being.

True that, Jung has done some pretty interesting research about different cultures developing similar systems & sets of believes independantly from each other. It doesn't really bare much relevance to virgin birth being a just a myth or not, but it's pretty interesting nonetheless.
