Sounds like you're simply better at No-Limit than Limit. I say play your best game. Play patiently and try to build an adequate bankroll. I started with way less than what would be considered adequate and I've been lucky enough to build my bankroll to where it should be.

I've noticed the play on pokerroom getting better as well. Maybe I'm just playing worse. I don't know. I'm winning less than I was.

I don't know, but if Arnold Shwartznegger ever became president... it would definitely be him. My vote is to change the rules to allow for an action hero president.

Everyone trashes on them for being lucky, but it takes a ton skill to win the WSOP.... and a ton of luck. I think it's great to see "amateurs" winning. It gives us low stakes players something to dream about.

I've been playing poker online for about 10 months, as well as in some home games for about the same length of time. This weekend I finally got up the courage to try playing in a live casino. I've won a few grand in low stakes games and online, and I've read all the books and figured I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I sit down at a 1-2$, $100 buy-in NL ring game and size up my competition. There are people from all walks of life. Old people, young people, men, women, white people, black people, asian people, most wearing shades and looking like they've been here before. I picture the scene

Just go with it. Give the impression that you're a maniac. Get up from the table, dance, let out a howl that would make Mike Caro proud, and play tight for the next hour. Then repeat it.

I like that you refer to this as the "magic hand".

The experts will say to never slow play with any kind of draw on the board. You should definitely bet.Betting a small amount and hoping for a call would be ok, but I would probably make a big raise and hope someone thinks I'm bluffing. Worst case scenerio is you take down a small pot and you're still alive. If you let someone take a free card and make a flush, you're a gone goose. Best case scenerio is that someone with top pair or something like that thinks you're bluffing and calls, or even reraises you. If no one has anything they'll fold either way, and giving a free card is just too

Casue we all know... If you don't raise with the Krabler, you can't win with the Krabler, and if you can't win with the Krabler... then you can't dance. -
I have 15 icons on my desktop... which by my calculations would place me squarely in the realm of genius.

I was once dealt pocket Queens five out of eight hands. Three straight at one point. It was insane. It was online and I thought there was some kind of glitch for a minute.

Doyle already has too many hands named after him. And you have to admit, the Kevin is way better than the Columbia River.
-
Well when I play it, it's called the Kevin.
-
What do mean no? It's too late. It's been announced. K-7 is the Kevin. Do you have a better name for it?
-
I hereby declare that K-7 is now known as...The Kevin

This is a bad way to be. Mike Caro talks about this problem quite a bit. You never want to manufacture a win. If you win a bunch of money at a table and then leave, you're not getting full value out of a good situation. Presumably the table is good if you are winning. You should milk it for all it's worth!! It's the opposite when you're losing. The table is more likely to be hard to beat if you're already losing. That's a big problem. You're always leaving under good conditions and staying too long under bad ones.Caro suggests trying to play every hand as if you are even. Your bankro

Sometimes you get bad luck. Just keep trying to make the right decisions and count your winnings at the end of the month. Don't worry if you win or lose for the day. Ups and downs are part of poker and being able to handle a bad streak is part of being a good player. If you lose more than 5 or 6 straight times, your game probably has a leak and you should examine your play. As far as online play goes, take advantage of the biggest weakness of online players have... they play too many hands. Play a solid game and don't get too fancy. And when you have a hand, step on the gas. That wil

Most of the players at my home game have a nickname that has sprung up spontaneously and stuck. Here's a fewThe French Pheasant- my personal favoritePocket 2's PetersThe Black WidowThe DoctorFancy PantsThe SharkOld Spice- due to the overwhelming stench of cologne that is always present along with this playerTeflon- this guy will always draw out on youRound EyeThe DanimalMy brothers and I are also known as the "3 Count", as in there's three of us and whenever one of us breaks a player we tap off a three count on the table wrestling style.

There's one guy in my home game that looks at the card he is dealing before showing it to anyone else on the turn and river, especially when it's a big pot or important situation. Then he rolls it over slowly. Drives me absolutely ballistic.

I agree. I've had no problems with neteller. I personally know a number of other people who also have an account with them and have never heard any complaints. It's secure and easy. As for cheques, one of my friends does it (pokerroom.com) and hasn't had any problems. Takes a couple of weeks to get your money I think.

I am the best NHL '93 player to ever walk the face of the earth.

How about Gus Hansen lately on the WPT? Not as big an accomplishment as some of the others, but that's the most impressive thing in a while.

Other players have a right to know how many chips you have. Some people consider it bad ettiquette to "Barber Pole" your chips. Personally I don't really care one way or the other how you stack your chips, as long as they're easy to count if someone asks.
