  1. I wasn't going to post about this but I can't stop laughing. This is awesome.
  2. Be careful my friend. The power of the Krablar is infinite. To harness it would be to rip a hole in space time with a force not seen since the decision to cross the streams in the original Ghostbusters. It is not a hand to be toyed with. You must learn to respect its power if you are to attempt to use it.
  3. I think they're equally important. Most of the math is based on feeling. You're doing a lot of guessing about the variables which are based on feel. The difference is that almost anyone can learn the math. I don't think everyone can develop the "feeling".
  4. The hand played out in about 5 seconds. I raised, he reraised, I went all-in. There wasn't more than two seconds between each of those actions. I have no doubt in my mind that it was intentional. If you saw it play out, you would know. As for the people that would use the tactic, more power to you. I'm not comfortable doing it and I think it's bad etiquette. If it isn't ok to do it in a live casino, why is it ok to do it online? I'm not so uptight that I don't see the humour in his response, but I think you should give your opponents some respect. I'd rather put someone on tilt with
  5. Not even at all? Even a little bit. An irk? A slight annoyance?
  6. Whatever you want to call it, wouldn't it p-ss you off? And an even better question.. would any of you use this tactic yourself?
  7. u may be right but a strong argument can be made for chip reese.I didn't know Chip Reese played hockey.
  8. Which hockey player would make the best poker player?I bet Messier could be good. Imagine him after his hockey career... sitting at the poker table, fat and out of shape, chip crumbs all over him, Lay's bags everwhere. I think he'd be a player.
  9. I was watching him and he was not a good player. I really doubt he was sophisticated enough to do it strictly to try and put me on tilt. Anyway, I realized that I was fuming and took a break.
  10. I have pocket Kings before the flop in an online ring game today. I raise before the flop and get reraised. I'm a huge stack and I'm really running good so I move him all-in right there (he's a low stack and a calling station). He thinks for a good twenty seconds before calling and showing me pocket aces. Are you sh-ting on my face? I don't care that I lost or that he had aces when I had kings, that's poker. But taking 20 seconds before calling is absolutely ridiculous. I nearly snapped. I asked him why he took so long to call and he said... "to make you think you had the best hand."Le
  11. Come to think of it, there is no Wayne Gretzky of poker. There is no Wayne Gretzky of any sport. No has ever dominated a sport the way he did. His numbers are absolutely insane compared to anyone else. You can debate who the greatest poker player of all time is, but (apologies to Lemieux and Bobby Orr) you can't debate who is the greatest hockey player.
  12. How about Daniel Negreanu?I thought about Doyle but he seems more like the Gordie Howe of Poker. And Stu Ungar is more like the Mario Lemieux of Poker- Maybe the greatest ever, but his heart just wasn't there.

  14. Ok, not a complete crapshoot. All I meant is that there's huge amounts of luck involved in SNG's. Of course you'll win over the long term if you play better, but give me a ring game any day.
  15. Stupid? Not sure if that was a question or a statement. Either way... thanks for your brilliant insight. And by the way... F--k you
  16. Maybe I give people too much credit. I guess it depends on the opponent. You've changed my mind. Move in baby! Sounds like the rake was maxed anyway.
  17. SNG's are a crap shoot. The blinds increase so fast you have to gamble a lot more than you'd like. I think if you're winning you're doing well. As for heads up, I watched how Phil Hellmuth played and won the recent Heads Up Championship. He almost never raised preflop, and almost never raised after the flop. It was all checking and calling until he could trap you with a big hand. I've used this strategy lately and it seems to work well. It really frustrates the other player and he'll start raising you more often. If you can pick up a hand or two and can trap him a few times, he'll stop
  18. Daniel had some good advice about how to keep your emotions in check, winning or losing. He was speaking about his time playing in Toronto when he was winning about $40 an hour. If someone asked him how he was doing for the day, he'd calculate his earnings based on his hourly wage. If he'd been there 3 hours, he'd tell them he's won $120 whether he was up a 1000 or down a 1000. He knew that as long as he made the right decisions he could expect to win that much over a longer period of time. I've taken to thinking along these lines and I am much less prone to going on tilt than I was befor
  19. There's a part in Super System that addresses a similar situation. There's four parts of a straight on the turn, say J,Q,K,A, and a ten will give you the nuts. Your opponent bets and you reraise. He reraises. You have the ten and you're pretty sure he does too. An unsophisticated player will move in right there. Brunson suggests doing some acting. Think about it for a while and shake your head like you have a tough decision to make. Move to fold your hand and then reconsider and call. Your opponent will hopefully give you credit for a set with all of your thinking. If the board pairs
  20. Hmmm.... Maybe "it" does know.
  21. In low limits online the "top 10" stategy works pretty well. Obviously you've read Hellmuth's book. Re-read the section on internet poker. He recommends taking advantage of the biggest weakness of online players... they play too many hands. But beware, playing that strategy is boring and takes a ton of discipline. Sometimes it takes a lot of time and a lot of frustration before you see results. Good luck.
  22. Agreed. Neteller is the best. Never heard any complaints. Fast and secure.
  23. My roommate was being trash talked after a hand once and the guy made a comment about his wife. He replied, "I'm not married. In fact, I'm only 16 and I just kicked your ass!"Pokerstars banned him until he could verify his age. I laughed at him for a week.
  24. Most people don't get it. They don't want to get it. They think gambling is gambling and that you will lose if you keep it up. Luckily for people like us, people like them play poker in abundance. Let's just keep the secret.
  25. Ahh, the daily Krabler thread. I hate it, but I can't help but read it every single time.
