  1. Alright, I get what you're saying there. Thanks for the clarification. That doesn't make sense to me. So you're saying, if I start the first $100 million buy-in tournament but have a release that prevents some players from playing, they can sue me for it? I'm obviously not saying the WPT will ever choose to edit people out of the final table. I'm just saying that it's possible, so that TV/non-TV shouldn't be a factor in regards to the profitability of a tournament. The players have no control over their TV exposure. For example, instead of cutting a player out of the final table, the WP
  2. Sorry, I know little, if any, about law. How are the WPT exclusive deals with casinos different from, say, soft drink companies having exclusive deals with fast food chains, restaurants, and schools? 1) It shouldn't matter if there aren't any 10k events at shitty casinos because any casino/company can easily start one there. The WPT is not preventing those other 95% of the casinos from starting their own large buy-in / TV events. Nor is the WPT purposefully preventing the high-stakes players from playing in their events (why would they even want to?). They simply have incompatible terms.2)
  3. Then, don't the players need to prove that the WPT exclusivity deals do have a negative impact on competition? From what I can tell from here, there are approximately 1,650 casinos in the US. The WPT probably has deals with less than 5% of that number. I don't see how barring under 5% of the casinos in America is preventing other TV-poker-tournament companies from starting up. True, the remaining 95% might not be "high-profile", but do viewers and players actually care in what casino a tournament is held? Also, how can only preventing the players from playing in televised events hurt them fin

  13. i'll take that as a compliment, considering the game.
  14. that's what i thought -- just wanted to confirm. my finger had a spewgasm before my brain could tell it to stop.
  15. 1) do all the players who profit actually tip?2) that still doesn't refute my point in that the tip structure is not conducive to producing better dealers. if a mediocre dealer gets payed the same amount in tip as a great dealer, then there's no incentive for that mediocre dealer to be better.
  16. if the individual dealer who is doing a good job gets tipped the same amount as some dipshit who botches every hand, that eliminates the incentive for doing a better job. therefore, if our tips have no effect on the performance of the dealers, what's the point of tipping? to be a nice guy? psh.btw, i heard raymer tipped a bundle in 2004. i also heard the dealers got worse in 2005. what happened there, bud?
  17. if you don't tip when you lose, why do you tip when you win?better yet, if you don't tip when you get 2nd, why do you tip if you get 1st?2nd prize winner experiences the same amount of service from the dealers as 1st prize winner. seems like an unfair burden that the amount the dealers get screwed depends on the winner.
  18. oops, disregard my post. i thought it was 3-handed.
  19. i don't see how either calling two cold or 3-betting with second pair (against two opponents) on a scary board are correct moves. you're either drawing to two outs or gonna have to dodge a buncha others... all for a mediocre sized pot.where am i wrong here?
