  1. the word you're looking for is indicative. Up $140 now, and trust me some of the play is shocking
  2. Has anyone noticed a change in the level of play since US players stopped playing at Party? I assume US players cannot play because I haven't seen any for days. I play at the pot limit 0.10/0.25 holdem tables (low limits I know), but I'm doing better clearing the 900 hand bonus than I ever have before. I'm up $90 after 650 raked hands and it looks like the standard of play has gone down quite alot.Any thoughts?
  3. I'm considering doing the first time deposit bonus. It says the clearing rate is 9 poker points per dollar. Are these the same as FCP points? If they are, then the deposit bonus is basically giving you all your rake back + 11%. Can someone help me out with this? Thanks
  4. Hi,I have read the thread but I would just like to know: If I was transferring some money into a neteller account then transferring it straight away into party poker, could I run into this problem? Thanks
  5. Hi,Before you answer give them to you, I'll say a bit more! I've got about 7800 points, from just playing out alot of the deposit bonuses. I work 36 hours a week so don't have a great deal of time for poker. I used to play alot of tournies but not any more because of the time. I don't mind playing a few tournies now and again. I play 25 pot limit, I'm alright at it, but I'm very tight by nature, so probably doesn't transfer great into a poker player. So what should I do with my party points???cheers
  6. not if you think your opponents have aces, kings and queens in their hands
  7. PL owns, I'll explain why - fish can't go all in pf with AK, QQ or JJ, and can't go all in with flush or straight draw on flop. Less variance more $$ 8)
  8. By quoting him you're showing his message while his original has been edited. You might want to edit you post?jaffa
  9. from my experience most americans don't know what a jaffa cake is, but it is the most delicious cake ever, hence the forum name.http://homepages.force9.net/swamp/jaffanet/jaffa
  10. excatly.....why raise 7xBBI would raise 7 BB with AA if I thought I would get action. Especially from fish like rwood described.
  11. I see your point. $3 pot and you were the only one with the nut low.jaffa
  12. I agree - that's why my username on stars and party is banana_poker jaffa

    how old are you?

    20. Been playing for about 3 and a half years.jaffa
  14. If you really want to learn about the hand in question you should try and find out as much as possible about the table before playing no limit. If the table is tight and passive (likely), then if you have no chance of beating this guy then fold. If you have AA or KK, then raise about 1.5 x BB. see what the flop is like then betaccprding to that
  15. KidKanuck,I think it means that if you raise on the flop, you think the original raiser will call, and then check the turn. As opposed to you calling on the flop, and the original raiser betting on the turn, because you didn't show any strength on the flop. So sometimes you can save yourself half a big bet, but if the raiser is a maniac or he has a strong hand, it will probably backfire. Hope this helps.jaffa
  16. Thanks alot akishore - I've copied your guide to word so that I could save it on my computer. It looks like very useful advice and not too wordy. I'll probably print it out and keep it for reference. If anyone has SS2 and wants to post some of the omaha hi lo advice, feel free! I don't think SS2 comes out in the UK for a few weeks yet, and I can't wait to get it. You're not the only ones wanting to learn stud / stud hi lo either - I'd like to too, I love to learn different games.Cheersjaffa
  17. Yes I like Poker Pages (Bugsy Club is the cash side) too. This is a great site for people who want to start playing freerolls and build a cash account. You can win bugsy bonus points (BBP's which are essentially pennies) in freeroll tournaments then you can play against others in ring games or tourneys to win more and convert them to cash 1000=10 dollars. You can also use them to play your way into a cash tourneys. There are not as many players at other sites but plenty enough to play with. Also it has the most intuitive easy to understand interface. Simple but great. I suggest you give
  18. Last year I played alot on Bugsysclub - some of you won't have heard of it, maximum I've seen on there is 2500 players. I liked their 3 monthly leagues - tourney league, cash game league, and mini cash game league. You get points for how many raked hands you participate in, and a league is formed based on how many points you have. At the end of the month, you get a cash prize for your position in the league. But the party poker redeposit bonus is much better value, and I've been playing there recently. I'll be trying Pokerstars soon as I want to get back into playing big tournies again.jaffa
  19. I don't understand what''s going on here. I mean, I couldn't be bothered to read the whole thread because I assume it's mostly flaming. If I post a hand history of a play I made that I think was bad, it's because I want people's honest opinions about how I played the hand. I'm not going to get offended if someone says I'm such a bad player - I just want honest opinions. I respect smash's opinion because I think he's a good player - I don't care how many posts he's made. And people should be allowed to vent a bit - when someone says something like stop your whining, it's good for the first play
  20. Yep I'm going to be printing this page to have next to my comp when i'm playing. Cheers for the great info - feel free to keep more coming (especially anything interesting from SS2, which I hope to get soon). jaffa
  21. Electronic Fund Transfer - you almost had it jaffa
  22. Well I should have made money at the 0.50/1 hilo at party while I was playing 800 hands to work off my bonus, but I was up $30 and kind of got frustrated (lol) with all the fish winning, and blew it all off. The bonus made up for it though. I don't have real money in my account at stars yet - I guess I should because it's a good site. I might transfer some in time for the negreanu open on sunday. I don't really know what stars is like for low limit hilo, but I assume players are slightly better than at party. Good luck.jaffa
  23. Greetings from the other Cambridge across the pond. I found the 0.50/1 tables on party good as well. Basically if you can learn how to play the game and know what starting hands are good, you can make alot of money off these tables. What I think happens is holdem players get a bit bored, and try out omaha hilo at the lowest limits while they are still learning the game. They end up playing 3/4 of their hands preflop and you could class them as omaha fish. Unless they had played alot, fish would have no idea of the how valuable a hand like A23K double suited is. How much did you end up winning?
  24. I don't think I'll be using "too nice" or "stick man" any time soon. I prefer "the rock", as I'm known in my uni poker society
