i don't disagree with betting strongly on the turn.i don't think i said anything to illustrate that i did. -

it does, but the bottom line is that the competition is drawing. they don't care how strong you are because they foolishly draw to a hand that they think will be best. -

quick note:the third player in the hand was essentially all in by the river. he made as much as he possibly could have off him, aside from like 15 dollars. -
was down tonight (the sequel), took 335 to 10/20
jayistheman replied to Dynon07's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
Apparently not....but then, "good" is a relative term.So long as you're finding games where other people's judgement is worse than your own, go for it.wow. you must just be combing this over and over again, looking to nitpick.it appears to have calm down, so unruffle your feathers. I don't think you can get into anymore cool internet fights here anymore. -

i've seen you start threads where you have done the same thing. taken a shot at a higher limit, knowingly, while not playing your optimum game.i'm not gonna get too involved in this... but.-I've watched dynon book a win on 80%+ of his sessions for the past few years.. some have taken him days of steady play to get up, but it happened. I wouldn't believe it either, but its true.-Dynon did say that he wasn't making a wise decision, and it was kind of a fit of passion. This is not his normal play. I have told him not to do this personally, but to each his own. He can afford to roll the dice -
Royal Flush, I probably only bet the minimum, hoping to get called or played back into, if you get played back into, you can make a larger raise.Straight Flush hand, you have the absolute worst flush you can have on the board, with one out to the straight flush. I either call or fold here. I don't raise all-in, unless I have a read on my opponents that tells me I may actually have the best of it, and then, maybe.don't fold 2 card flushes 4 handed.just don't

sacrificing profit to overcome specialization
jayistheman replied to CobaltBlue's topic in General Strategy
Back in the day, being well rounded was a way to maximize profit. you had to play whatever game you could find, and it wasnt always your favorite game.Unless you are in the highest available limits, there is not as much of a financial reason to avoid specialization. Due to online poker, you can almost always find a game going on in the variation of your choice. If you mix it up, it should be due to a will to learn, or some other personal (non financial) goal. This secision is all based on how badly you want it.... if you want to sacrifice profit, then go ahead. -
i just did dumbest thing in the world....
jayistheman replied to Dynon07's topic in General Poker Forum
tell him to just punch a nice sturdy wall next time, works much better.well, i don't think i can condone that either.A drunk friend punched a wall last year after the eagles lost the superbowl, and visibly fractured a few bones in his hand... he had some screws and stuff put in. He also had a cast well into the spring.i just go to sleep when stupid shit like that happens -

I was at dynon's place to watch this all go down.It wasnt as good as the hopkins fight, but it did the trick. -
resisting temptation of family pots
jayistheman replied to Scott3705's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
I've also stubbed my toe with KQs against Axs in raised pots.I've stubbed it pretty hard with JJ v QQ on a Q J x flop.It happens, but a (2 card) flush is a very strong hand, even in a multiway pot... even if it is 7 or 8 high. You may lose a big pot here or there, but it's still a profitable situation.I do understand your point, however.... the flush is never nearly as pretty as even, say the low end of the straight. -
resisting temptation of family pots
jayistheman replied to Scott3705's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
in these situations, you will often have odds to draw to a gutshot. people are often afraid to fire very hard at a semi coordinated board in these multiway pots.and it certainly does make for a good image when some donkey flips out when you draw to a gutshot to beat his limp pf and never fold TT on a raggedy board play.... i just did it with 85 suited on the button the other night. The entire table forgot about how I sat there and folded for hours. I was, all of the sudden, "that guy who drew to a gutshot" -

jayistheman replied to Scott3705's topic in No Limit Texas Hold'em Cash Games
If i can take a flop in lp in a large family pot with a suited connecting hand, im a happy man.I'd do it most every time... especially if the table is juicy. If I can get paid off by top pair, or two pair here, its usually worth the trip.multiway pots are fun -
AQ, AK, AJ are all possible here, i think. I might lead with them, hoping to get a call out of a worse hand... also, they are probably hoping you will slow down.but i'm really tired and don't have good judgement now.

the final 5 who is the best no limit tourney player?
jayistheman replied to Fluffdog87's topic in General Poker Forum
Thank You.I feel this is an insult to everyone on this site.tyvm:roll:well... first, the basics.when i use a word like "most" as opposed to "all", i cannot be insulting "everyone"If you would have said "I feel like this is an insult to MOST people on this site", you would be closer. The bottom line, however, is that WE DON"T KNOW!I'm not saying we aren't cool enough. We very well may be. What I'm saying, quite simply, is that most of us have no idea who wins, who loses, who is good, who is bad, who is lucky, who is hit by buses.... etc.I think its ignorant for you to assume that you do kno -

jayistheman replied to Fluffdog87's topic in General Poker Forum
I never really saw the point in debating this. Its really just asking "who has looked best on tv so far" and "who does mike sexton say i should respect most"I'm pretty sure the answer is as simple as looking at the results somewhere like thehendonmob.now for cash games, we could have a debate, as nobody really has all of the results compiled...... but once again, not many of us are qualified to actually have valid input -
the joke got hit by a bus.huck seed told me so.
