  1. i like raising here. you can take the lead from the original bettor... we all know how important this is.. especially if you make your flush. you can continue betting into him with less suspicion. also it can help to get a free river... it is hard to have proper pot odds to draw past the turn.you will often take the pot right down there as well... the one major problem ive ever had in this spot is when the original bettor has a better flush draw... that can get ugly.
  2. The worst is norman chad.. man he sucks... but i like phil, so i guess im biased. The guys on late night poker from across the pond are bad too. one time i saw AA v AK heads up on there... now there was a time i wanted to hear norman chad going nuts... these guys acted like it was no big deal. these guys were in a raise war pre flop and they calmly called the action.... kinda killed the moment for me.... vince van patten also needs to stop calling KK "kokomos"
  3. i didnt like play poker like the pros, but bad beats and lucky draws is pretty good man. it isnt strategy really. its a large collection of really interesting hands that he has encountered throughout his carreer... and there are some amazing things.. one in particualr is about like the best read ever. AA raises in early pos... later position has KK.. .looks at the guy... mucks... FOR ONE BET. said he saw it in his eyes. alotta cool stuff like that. plus alotta pros have stories too. including daniel...dont hate on phil. ;-)
  4. one of these hands just came up the other night... K 4 in the BB. cash game about 8 handed i think. im respected as a solid player. like 4 limpers in the pot....flop K 10 xi bet 3x bb UTG. i know it was an overstated bet, but i figured that given the respect as a solid player i could take the pot right there, and that KJ or KQ would easily come over the top.i get cold called by one player. i now immediately feel that he is putting on a trap with top 2 or a set... but im not completely sold on the idea. i decide to study him a bit and he seems to be thinking hard... almost speculating as
  5. another spade dont matter... omaha has to use 2 cards
  6. i agree somewhat. i, however, raise 3 hands online.. AA, KK, QQ... and there is always a fish who calls with J 4, flops a 4 and thinks that since there are no high cards that it is safe to call any raise. He will pay my hand most of the time, and i understand that i am risking an outdraw. Now when i am at a table with the same people for a while, and start to sense that they have at least half a brain, i simple leave. I also take notes accordingly.
