  1. right... i understand this...the insurance is set.... its based on 24 cards... so its obviously favoring the house...or the player on the low end should they take it...which would mean always lay it, never take it...correct?would you ever bypass this if say there was a 12-13 outer with 2 cards to come against you? or if you had it at say 20:1 and could pull $120 out for every $10 you gave up....or just stick with EV and say run it...im just curious... also on when you would say forget insurance, lets run it twice...or three times... and i fully understand the importance of this.... trust me..
  2. yes... its a cardroom and the owner will be the insurance man if the player on the low enddoesnt want to take it...so other question.... on the low end, should you ALWAYS take it? since its actually +EV? if the player doesnt take it, the house does...last night i actually took the low end when we got the money in and my AA had been sucked out on on the turn by 2 pair....i had 8 outs (2 aces and 3 of each of the other cards on board that he hadnt hit for a higher 2 pair)i took it ($80 and i had invested about $200)... it missed...and all was well...
  3. thanksand yes... this guy is making a killing off insurance alone from the 1/2PL, 5/5PL, 5/5/10PL and 10/25PL games he spreads...
  4. nobody??????????brunson talks about it briefly in super system... helmuth took it against greenstein on hugh stakes poker.... somebody here has to know about it!i jut want a think outloud session with somebody on it....
  5. the house (the cardroom) is doing the insurance... it baed on 24 cards... so technically its a "bad deal".... just curious because i did take it at the end of the night when a guy had 5 outs twice... gave up a minimal amount of the pot and he ended up hitting... so the house paid me and he took the pot....somebody here has to have some background on it....
  6. what are your thoughts on it?a local club makes hand over fist picking up insurance on hands that the low end doesnt want... bunch of small timers and they almost always take it...my question is about when you are ahead.... what are your thoughts on taking versus not taking? 1/2PL game... i potted my KK the whole way and got it all in on the turn...we flip over and he has ATh for an over an flush draw with one card to come... i say **** no... river is a heart and he takes the pot.... ive turned it down just about every time else too....super system says dont take it, but lay it... i guess i am
  7. thats why i logged on here... cant log on to PP
  8. for somebody that mostly plays 1/2NLHE, what would you all suggest?what about rake? max buy ins? weird rules on rebuys (like hollywood park not letting you rebuy until youre down to a certain amount) etc...also, best days/times?
  9. played at hollywood park last night (only place ive played when visiting out here) and realized i dont like the structure all that much... was playing $100 NLHE which is 2/3 blinds, a $4 drop per flop and $1 bad beat, and you can reload until you are <$50 in chips....suggestions on the other rooms? whats spread and why do you like it?thanks in advanceweaver
  10. just in those games?im curious because at a couple cardrooms, dealers have actually counted saying "$X to call and there is $X in the pot"pissed me off....
  11. is there a rule as to whether the dealer should or should not count the pot in NLHE?thanks in advance
  12. what do you need to play these "torrents"? im searching but what i downloaded did not work... and the link on that site where the GSN stuff linked to nothing...thanks in advance

He lives with his g/f and her mom. I laugh everytime I see that because I think to myself that this is his punishment for being in a boy band.i saw the preview... now only does the kid get 15 minutes by being a in a boy band... they give him another 15 for "life after the boy band"??? wtf?
  14. dont think for a second that i think i a baller because of today... watching live at the bike, prahlad online, etc... i know what up... i was just happy with my bankroll padding low limit win and thought id see if yall could make me feel better by telling me what a small stakes chump i am Nah, man. I was just givin' ya shit. I actually find winning home games like that are more fun than cashing for 2k at the Casino. Hanging out with the guys, drinking some beer, makin' a little money, watching the game. Good times.i think youd be impressed or suprised at a lot of the home games im attending...

  19. best session of '06... live 16 person (4 no shows) $100 NLHE freezeout... 55 minue blind levels... 10,000 starting chips... blinds start at 100-100... 6.5hour tourney that i ended up winning... $700 profit... .50/1.00 NLHE cash game after which i ended up profiting $176 in...i will probably go broke in a week....but today... i ruled....my stack when we are to 5 handed:
  20. All the home games I play in are usually buyin of $X and a touney style where the top 3 or whatever pay.I am skeptical about the whole idea personally but wanted some other opinions from people who have maybe been around these kind of games.you can find a RAKE FREE - NONtourney style game (aka a cash game) in the houston area any night of the week...anything from .25/.50NLHE to 5-5NLHE and higher... other games as well of course but id say the ever popular NLHE is an easy find... RAKE FREE...charge your buddies if you want but why not instead make a local forum and recruit players... if youre
