  1. Very tough spot after you miss on the turn. I think a lot of this depends on your read of the villain. Is his range wide enough that he could have hit this flop hard? When you lead out for 1k your essentially asking for a call from an aggressive player. To me that screams continuation bet. I don't like to put my tournament on the line often, but that was a monster flop for you. If you shove you have a >60% chance of hitting one of your 16 outs. I think this is one of the few times I go ahead and move all in. Use your stack to put the villain to the test after the flop, and if he cal
  2. I respectfully disagree. On that board, with all of those potential draws, I don't think a bet on the turn is going to do you much good. If he has the Ace of spades, a K, or a J, he probably calls. Of course he will call or reraise if he has the flush already. In two of those three scenarios the implied odds are pretty big if he can hit a boat or the nut flush so it will take a big bet to make him go away. If you make a big bet and get called then what. Now you go to the river and if the board doesnt pair and no spade comes, you probably bet again right? In my opinion you end up using a
  3. Are you being serious rrumsey, you know the exact hand that the bb had? I have seen two of your posts and you are cracking me up. You are just so confident and just making silly comments. You know nothing about the context of this hand or the players, but because he called a preflop bet and a post flop bet you know the exact two cards that he has. LOL!
  4. I'm curious too. What has he done to indicate a particular hand. Could have two overs, a pocket pair, or AJ but he raises w/most of these hands to get info. Basically you have to keep the bets small. Maybe even go lower with your bet on the turn so he will think you are weak. It would be obvious but online players seem to fall for that stuff. My guess he has nothing and you just have to hope that he is going to keep calling you.
  5. Yeah, seems pretty simple to me to. You're almost certain to isolate the short stack if you shove, and you're almost certainly ahead of him w/AQ.
  6. Really? First off once you miss the flop and have only a gut shot, why go crazy. An average size continuation bet seems prudent to me. If he has nothing and no potential he goes away. If he does have something, in particular the draw that he was on, you're going to have to bet a lot more on the flop to make him go away. He is only going to call you if he hit the board or has a nice draw. He called and now you have to think that a strong possibility was that he is on a flush draw and the 3rd spade may be the card he wanted. His check is suspicious. If you lead out w/a bet, you will only
  7. Wow, what site do you play on? I would love to play with you as often as possible. You bet way too much on every street and had no concern that you were being smooth called. Just because you won the hand does not matter. You're supposed reads and position should be thrown out the window when you are smooth called on two consecutive streets. You know what my read was, you overcommitted yourself and your opponent has an absolute monster and you're just diving right in. I mean really, what did you think he was calling you with. Just because you had a fish at the table and won the hand does

  9. Completely disagree. While you don't want to go broke here, you can't give the away free cards and get no information when you have top pair w/a decent kicker. 1/3 to 1/2 the pot to let him know I have something. As you say he's a small baller. If he's calling just to see a flop, you need to start applying pressure after the 3 cards hit the board. A lot would depend on his reaction to the post flop bet. If he thinks I am continuation betting and wants to reraise with a steal attempt I may even repop him once. Either way I want him to fold w/my initial bet or reraise me so that I can fin
  10. I would bet 1/3 of the pot. While we are probably ahead, no need in tangling w/the other big stack at the table. Who wants to go broke w/a pair of kings and a decent kicker. Based on his position I would say that he is simply sticking around for the ride but why get the pot bigger than it needs to be. If you have just led out on consecutive streets he probably knows that we have something. If we bet bigger on the turn he might be more inclined to come over the top w/a steal attempt and then what? How many of us have busted out of tournaments when we first started out by not letting go of
