Us Online Poker Regulation Since Black Friday Thread
DiamondDixie replied to FCP Bob's topic in General Poker Forum
@UncleHoot VERY WELL SAID! And my feelings exactly. I believe somewhere ITT there is an article that even says there was a joint letter to the DOJ from Harry Reid and Jon Kyl (strange bedfellows huh?) urging the DOJ to crack down on the online poker sites to "prove" they meant business in enforcing the UIGEA. It was also extremely suspicious that this happened right after Wynn Resorts announce their pending partnership with PokerStars. Casears shits a brick and gets Reid on the phone and what do you know, here comes Black Friday! Then several months back after the Barton bill HR2366 comes out -

Unfortunately yes! It's all about who contributes the most money to the corrupt politician's "campaign fund", also known as their pockets. Therefore I believe whatever bill comes out of Fair Play USA will be the one to pass but it won't necessarily be the best one for the interest of the online poker players. Fair Play USA is being backed by the big money casinos and they have to money to make big contributions, so that whatever bill is passed benefits them the most. -

Welcome! Who knows at the moment! I'd say we have 1.7:1 odds at the moment, so less than 50/50 IMO, but I'm in a Debbie Downer mood about legislation right now. I don't like this Fair Play USA popping up right now supporting the B&M casino interest and diluting the water for the Barton bill HR2366, but we'll see. I'm very leery of anything the B&Ms and Harry Reid support. -
I think you can't watch part 2 and not worry that I was dangerously close to being as bad as Rose after BF! I think I've recovered now, but I WILL NOT PLAY FCKN ZANGA POKER! :-)Kind of funny Twitter conversation: DiamondDixie Lisa N. If this reminds me way too much of myself, should I be worried #poker @TheMicros -- youtu.be/T4fvDHqiCvApokercar Riley @ @DiamondDixie That @TheMicros video is a bit cringeworthyThe Micros @ @pokercar I hope because it was a familiar situation, and not because it sucked?pokercar Riley @ @TheMicros The situation, definitely. Senator Reid mentioned legislation of online poker in his town hall meeting today and it was reported in the Las Vegas Sun http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2011/sep/1...d-ld-writethru/As for the 2p2 thread above, it would be great if Daniel would tweet the 2p2 action plan a few times. So far several Deuces Cracked pros and LuckyChewy and aejones from Leggo Poker, as well as Dennis Phillips, Durrrr, Andrew Robl and several others have stepped up to help get the word out. Even The Micros have tweeted the action plan more than once. I've been involved with this thread for quite awhile and I'm als -

DiamondDixie replied to DiamondDixie's topic in General Poker Forum
Yes so if you have a sportsbook account then you're already on Merge. -
Per 2p2 link Pokerview will be moving to Merge tomorrow so if you're a US player and you don't have a Merge account you can sign up now for Pokerview and get grandfathered in.... Get it now while quantities last!http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28/inter...t-13-a-1097836/

Us Online Poker Regulation Since Black Friday Thread

I doubt they can as well but the 2+2 reps for all the skins have all said that all player funds are segregated which is more than we can say for FTP and AP/UB. They've had seizures since BF, the MyWallet/QuickTender seizure for one, and from all I heard all the players accounts were reimbursed but I might be wrong - things are kind of weird with e-wallets. Carbon does withdrawals in batches and they don't keep money between batches in processor accounts like Stars and FTP did, at least as I understand it and I believe this is true for all Merge skins since most share the cashier. I've always k -
Us Online Poker Regulation Since Black Friday Thread
DiamondDixie replied to FCP Bob's topic in General Poker Forum
Notice that the article only says action against Merge processors and that knowledge of any actions or indictments against Merge or Merge skins is unknown. Processors have been having funds seized so imo this isn't much news and while subject poker is considered a trustworthy poker news source this article seems a bit of a stretch or a sensationalism. I'm no more nervous about Merge that I was before. -
Negreanu Open Wednesdays At Poker Stars
DiamondDixie replied to FCP Bob's topic in General Poker Forum
I'm up for it and I know Rose has an account on Hero/Merge. We can set up private sngs so as long as it less than 10 players we can do it that way. I know there are at least 10 of us playing on Merge. I've never been able to get an answer about private MTTs, I don't know that it's possible but you can do sngs and cash games. -

Good game, I barely missed railing you! Was busy trying to see how many super turbo HU sngs I could play and just break even, lol.[X] Super Turbo HU needs work

The Bodog brand is leaving the US market but the primary company or licensing company or something is supposed to continue under a new name. You can use your Sportsbook account to play on Merge and I was able to use my VISA debit card on Carbon to deposit and you can also do Western Union.
-
Did you ever open an account with Carbon, Lock of Players Only/Sportsbook? If you have any old account with any of the Merge skins you can deposit and play there, it's where most US people are playing. If you don't have an existing account they currently aren't taking new US players. There is also Bodog which probably the 2nd biggest US facing site. Cake is pretty much a desert waste land still.

Welcome back shag! Thanks I agree with his stack he could well afford to take the gamble and getting 2:1:1 on a call with an OESD and BD FD he had a lot of outs. I was running about 22/18 - my standard stats pretty much, I do open up more in LP and I had over 100 hands with him. He said he put me on a tight range here but I have no idea why he would. He got his stack by getting super lucky, like he did here.

Here is another hand I'd like some opinions on - I'd post in strategy but no one seems to go there :-)This was a PokerVT home game for play money but prizes from PVT for top spots and HH review for top players for the month. Villains blind defense is kind of wide imo? Also pot odds were 2.1:1 after my shove and if he put me on TPTK or TP 2nd kicker mb or a set or overpair, which is all that made sense since I'm pretty much a nit, he had 33.5% equity against that range after my shove, he snap called me. If you add bluffs with AK or AQ then it's more like him 41% me 58%. My 4 bet shove is aggres

The only thing I'd do differently is 3 bet shove instead of just 3 bet raising, with my stack I think that seems better. It wouldn't of made any difference in the outcome but I'm not worried about the results just how I played it.

2011 World Championships Of Online Poker At Poker Stars
DiamondDixie replied to FCP Bob's topic in General Poker Forum
I had hoped this year would be my WCOOP debut too, oh well Merge it is! Good luck to everyone lucky enough to get to play this. -
Is this the twilight zone? Did I miss page one? What's this about Rose and her start date, I feel so confused....Well I played the 100K on Merge (satted in) and a few other games, all the Sunday gtds are up so some nice games now - hit the bad side of variance in most everything (didn't play much so no surprise there) but ended up $10 thanks to a $5.50 45 turbo 3rd place. My bankroll on Merge still sucks - 4 months of running consistently below EV will do that. :(Would anyone have played this any differently - he was pretty tight but raised bvb and btn v blinds a reasonable enough amount. PokerStars, Full Tilt (were) and Bodog are independent sites. Cake, Merge, Everleaf (Minted is the only skin on that I can think of) and Yattahay(sp to lazy to look it up) (Doyle's Room and True Poker are the only Yattahay skins that I know of and Doyle is no longer affiliated and the Network got indicted a couple of months ago) are Networks. There are also numerous networks and other independent sites like Party Poker who don't allow US players. AP and UB were also Cereus network skins.
-
Merge is the network and Sportsbook is a "skin" on that network. The software and games are all shared by several different "skins", in most cases the banking/cashier is also shared, however cash outs and customer service are managed, in most cases, by the individual skin. When you play on Sportsbook you are playing against players from all the skins. I think there are 10 or 12 different skins. The biggest being Carbon, then Lock as they are the oldest. Sportsbook and Players Only are, I think, under the same management and they both used to be on the Cake Network but moved to Merge around a
