No such luck. I had the whole afternoon ahead of me.

I'm not arguing. The main reason I posted this was because I thought it was interesting how my 'feelings' and my mind were contradicting each other and affecting my play.I literally said 'this guy has Aces,' out loud when he min raised UTG. I've been running real cold, so this is probably what put this in my head (I have no other reason to think he has Aces -- I even checked my PTracker DB, and I've never sat at a table with this player before.) So it comes around to me in the SB, and I agree 100% the right play is to re-raise. I had Aces in the gut though (contradicting the logical part o

He had AK - and my flush never came.

He's been pretty tight. He's the short stack, and my impression is that he's been waiting for around for a good hand.
-
99.9% of the time I agree -- I'm gonna re-raise to see where I'm at, but for whatever reason I had a sick feeling about this one, and I went with my gut and just called.I'll give the outcome tonight or early tomorrow morning

1 - Anyone, no cost. If you want to watch a final table on the bleachers, you need to show up early and wait in line (line started about 2-3 hours early when I was there.)2 - Rio Convention Center -- don't go through the casino if you can help it (saves 5-10 minutes of walking.)3 - Past 2 a.m. depending on the event, #s, etc...

I had mentioned in an earlier post that I had seen someone snaggin a Doyle autograph during the Limit event:http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...6261&highlight=Anyways, I'm still surprised they allow spectators to get autographs at all 'during' the action. Should be limited to breaks only IMHO. And even then the fans should not expect them.

sklansky vs jesus limping/raising strategy
Comatose_Soul replied to dna4ever's topic in General Poker Forum
I raise 60-75% of the hands I play. I don't play 60-75% of the hands I'm dealt ;)Playing hold'em I'll see anywhere between 15-30% of the flops depending on how I'm running, and if the table remains full. 30% is generally my peak on a full table. -
sklansky vs jesus limping/raising strategy

Two quick thoughts -- I've really not pondered this very much.First, I probably raise about 60-75% of the hands I play (Ring Games.) I normally notice two things happen when I'm raising everytime I'm in a hand: stealing on the flop is easier (or works more often,) and generally someone at the table will get frustrated and either push-in on me, or start re-raising more often (normally someone starts playing a lot looser when I'm in the pot.)Second, while I generally like what Chris Ferguson is saying here, there seems to be more and more players that like to just call. Regardless of what the -
Hopefully people are not sick of these already, but here is a small report from my Vegas trip back on the 2nd I plan on updating my blog in a few days with more detail about my trip and all the poker I played. But for now, here are my thoughts on the WSOP.WSOP – Trip ReportMy buddies and I arrived in Vegas around 5 p.m. I had wanted to go directly to the Rio to sign up for event # 2, but apparently my buddies did not have the same urgency. We got checked-in to our hotel and headed to the Plaza to play their 7 p.m. tournament. One of my buddies busted out early and went over to Binion’s f

I'm sure just about everyone has made a bad call or bluff before; however, have you ever played a single hand so badly that after all your money or T-chips are scooped away you just kind of stare off into the distance, wondering who the hell that idiot was that played so poorly? Just one hand where you break down and show absolutely no patience, or discipline. Anyone?!

good things about the rio and wsop
Comatose_Soul replied to HarryDemetriou's topic in General Poker Forum
Just wanted to drop a thank you in this thread for all the great info Harry drops on us from time to time. Thank you!You might have answered this already, but are you registered for Event #2 (I assume you are.) Just curious - I'll be there on Thursday (the 2nd,) no idea if I'll be playing or not though. -
I've got company this weekend, and I'm in Vegas next, but I could probably put some php/mysql stuff together on my website (Mammoth Works,) using any formula people agree to by mid-June.
-
yea that seems like the most logical thing to do, keep it simple and go with this. :shock:You can almost plug the formula into excel with no modifications. Or use it with a php/mysql setup (which seems like the easiest way to setup a leaderboard site - takes a bit of work up front, but then you can parse tourney results for quick updates.)Here is example data from a spreadsheet I created just now in like 5 minutes:Buy-In: 10Entries: 75 Finish---Points1---96.72---66.13---52.94---45.15---39.96---36.17---33.28---30.8etc...But your absolutely right, it does not follow the KISS principle.

I generally try to not to win and leave -- the only instances I can think of where I have left a table after winning (or a few hands after,) are when I was already past the amount of time I set aside to play - or if a tourney is starting and I want to focus on it.I'm normally shutting down tables (last to leave.) The last two days, I've made all my money when it got down to heads-up. Opponent went broke, and my session was done for the night

Just use the formula that RGP used for their leaderboard:Tournament Rankings Formula B = buy-inN = # of playersR = rank points = round(10*sqrt((N/2)/(pow(intval®,1.1))*(1+log(intval(pow(B,1.5))+0.25))),1)
