  2. in the hand you asked about, it really depends on what the Xs are, if you have 4 to a 7 then its not marginal, if you have something like K9753 then it is a fairly marginal hand, because he could easily be drawing to an 8. You dont neccesarily have to fold on 5th street here, but you have to have the discipline to be able to fold if you make your 9 and it looks like he made an 8.
I meant a K-7 low vs an assumed 10-8 low. Thanks again for the replies!
  3. if you're playing full table 32% is way too high, you want to be somewhere around 20%. What is most likely happening is you are playing too many marginal hands and then not being able to get away from them when you both hit so you are playing a lot of big pots where you started with the worst hand. This would also explain your atrocious showdown percentage.
Two more questions if you've got the time :club:-What would you describe as a marginal starting hand?-Would you say a K-7-x-x-x is marginal against 10-8-x-x-x?Obviously other variables (dead cards, etc...) can change this, just curious what your thoughts were. I think I am loosening up after spending some time at the table, or maybe its after being out-drawn; I'll have to dig into that. Generally though I'm not playing any pairs, no paint, and very frew if any nines.
  4. During current Razz session you were dealt 250 hands and: - saw fourth street 81 times (32%) - saw fifth street 52 times (20%) - saw sixth street 32 times (12%) - reached showdown 15 times (6%) Pots won at showdown - 3 of 15 (20%) Pots won without showdown - 33Bleeding money on the RAZZ tables, and looking for general help as to why? I feel really unlucky, but I'm sure I'm playing bad as well :club: Am I coming in too often for fourth/fifth/etc? Showing down too often? Too infrequently?Biggest hands I lost tonight:A-2-3-4-6 cap'd 6th, opponent caught a 2 on 7th to make a wheel.A-2-4-5-6 on 6th (lead out on 5th and 6th,) opponent caught a 2 on 7th to win with A-2-3-5-6.Results have been very similar to the above at .50/1, 1/2 and 2/4. Been having HUGE swings, which may or may not be normal. Just reaching out for that FCP helping hand! Thanks in advance for any help...~cs aka bivy

  6. Ignoring the fact that you could make a strong argument for playing=studying, how much time to do you spend studying opposed to playing:Reading Poker BooksReviewing Hand HistoriesDiscussing Strategyetc...I'm probably in the 1-10% range (of the ~20 hours of poker I play a week.) I would like to read more, and spend some more time in my hand histories, I just get busy. Curious about everyone else...:: cs

  7. ...Once you played out the hand the way you did, I think you almost have to check 7th, too many hands can beat you, a 10 low against 1 drawing player is fine, but against 2 drawing players you arent the favorite to win the hand...
Really curious about this -- raised this question with KDawgCometh as well. Based on http://twodimes.net the odds are:Player-----%WinVillian2--- 8%Hero-------- 76%Villian5--- 7%Villian6--- 7% This looks like I'm actually a huge favorite. I'm assuming twodimes calculates the odds correctly? Assuming they do, what kind of edge are you looking for on 6th? 76% seems pretty good to me..: Comatose :.
  8. I'm folding 4th here. you don't have the best hand to be continuing with aggression and your steal attempt failed. the ten is a real bad card, becasue we are paired in the hole. being paired in the hole is akin to being involved in a PLO pot with a dangler, you're just limiting how good your final hand can be. 6th is bad too, all you have is a ten low. I want to be betting into this field with an 8 here, and to be honest, I want the 8 to be as smooth as possible, or at least have a smooth draw that can improve to a 7 or a 6
I can understand getting out on 4th, but I'm a little confused by your advice on 6th. The odds break out like this:Player-----%WinVillian2--- 8%Hero-------- 76%Villian5--- 7%Villian6--- 7%Exact Odds: http://twodimes.net/h/?z=1258100Are you saying you don't want action with this kind of edge? Or are you saying this isn't that big of an edge in Razz? Even if Villian2 has the perfect hole cards, I'm still a 55% favorite:Assuming Villian2 has a 2 and 4 in the hole:Player-----%WinVillian2--- 34%Hero-------- 55%Villian5--- 5%Villian6--- 4%Exact Odds: http://twodimes.net/h/?z=1258809Yes I only have a T high, but lets look at it in more detail:At best my opponents have:Villian2--- T-8 lowVillian5--- J4 lowVillian6--- T-8 lowHero-------- T-6 lowVillian5 is the only opponent that might have a better draw. So I'm sitting on the best hand and possibly the best draw.

This is probably a spot I struggle with (having a good hand on sixth, but not improving on seventh.)(I'll post results of the hand later if there is any interest.).: Comatose :.

  10. How do you handle 7th heads up when you don't improve a hand you've lead the whole way?Example:Your holding:A2:485KOpponent holding:xx:A7810You've got an 8-5 low, and your opponent has 8-7 at best. Assuming your 7th card is garbage, and your still sitting on an 8-5 low, how often and what factors do you use for deciding to value bet or not? From my limited experience, almost the only time your bet is called (assuming your not check-raised,) is when your beat.Anyone else have thoughts?

  11. Sitting on a 9 high you've got ~36% chance of improving your hand on 7th. Assuming max and KQG don't have any of your outs. However, I would give at least one of them a 4, possibly even both of them - taking you down to ~27% chance of improving on 7th.More than likely I bet on 6th and check down 7th assuming no further action. I call 1 raise, and probably drop if both players raise. But this is highly dependant on the players and how often they will chase with poor hands, bluff, etc...I wouldn't be surprised at all if max already had his 8 low and was simply scared by KQG and your boards. Either way, your the big favorite to win the hand on 6th:http://twodimes.net/h/?z=122357668.58% - you14.70% - max16.62% - KQG
