    Instacall seemed like the easy choice to me at the time. However, one of the players I thought was a decent PLO player mouthed off about the play, so I figured I would post here (not like I am a PLO jedi-master or anything.)Question about pot'n it preflop - are you pot'n to push people out of the hand? Generally speaking (at least in this tournament,) a pre-flop pot got everyone out of the hand. I liked my hand enough to want action, so I kept my raise lower. Was trying to induce action wrong here?

    Somewhere in the second half hour of NBC's HU championship, one of the announcer girls went to Doyle who was sitting in the audience. She asked him why he wasn't playing, and he replied that "For the first time in 50-something years I've lost my passion for poker." At that moment the phone rang and I couldn't hear the rest clearly, but it sounded like he was said something about the "recent security events" having a lot to do with it. I think I heard that right. I wasn't sure if he was talking about some incident at a tournament, or if he was referring to all the online nonsense, which caused his site particular difficulty (I know because I was a regular there). Does anyone know anything more definitive about what he said and where he's at? It should go without saying that I was astounded to hear the great man say those words. :club:
    He was basically disapointed by all the recent Federal BS related to online poker.

    My guess is his range is AJ, 66-KK.I call.That flop is so dry, so he's not semibluffing anything, which is bad for us in terms of us being ahead. However, the only hands that he does this with that we are losing to are JJ and 66, and even 66 should be discounted as it isn't raised from EP very often.
    Call hoping he checks the turn? How do you proceed if another blank comes and he bets out again? Pushes? Checks?
    #1. I raise more preflop. Yeah, you got aces, and you want action. But why not raise more to get them to dedicate more of their stack to play against you? Aces are the nuts preflop, and hardly ever the nuts postflop... get as much money in preflop as you can while you hold the best hand.I think this is an easy push, but your decision would be easier if you raised more preflop.... anywhere from 1200-1800 (I preflop 1500 or so.)
    With an UTG limp, UTG+1 raise, and MP1 call - thats probably a pretty good suggestion (raising more.) What range do you put UTG+1 / MP1 on?

    2. No, he couldn't be ahead. You have a 9, and the best he could have is a T.
    Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, but running the numbers for the hands I listed in the post immediately above yours shows me as a slight dog to some hands. Chris Fargis actually just wrote about this situation today:http://twentyoneoutstwice.blogspot.com/EDIT: After going through the odds, posting, and responding I'm fine with the bet on 5th. Even if seat 1 has a solid hand we are pretty damn close to 50/50. Chris uses a much more extreme example in his blog post above.

    4th and 5th street are played out fine except I have a serious problem with your analaysis on 5th street. You say you could have check called here he could easily be ahead, wrong. He has a 10 showing, which means no matter what his hole cards are there is no way you are beat here. Always bet this, make him pay to draw out, don't let him get there for free.
    Actually he's a small favorite if he has Ax3x, Ax4x, Ax5x, 3x4x, 3x5x, or 3x7x (think thats all of'em.) He raised on 3rd, so I'm giving him a little credit for a hand, although he could have paired his 6 or had a much worse starting hand. If your playing with a strong player though, you will often get raised here if they have any of the previously mentioned hands.Ran #s using http://twodimes.net, apologize if my numbers are off any.
