Just want to say congrats to pjkeybear for knocking me out 112th and cashing in 11th. I pushed early position and shortstacked with 77 and got called by middle pos. 88 and the bear found AA on the button I believe. Nice to see my chips went to good use. pjkeybear also found himself shortstacked to less than $500, I believe, during the first level and fought back hard. BTW the middle player holding 88 was knocked down to about $700 and managed to cash 48th, way to go dude. Now I'm officially sick to my stomach.

I seem to recall that DN was not to fond of playing his close friends in his Challenge matches. Now I'm not saying that he would back down by any means to any prop bet, much less for only 20K. I kinda have a feeling that it's more of a friendly wager than Gavin S. actually calling DN out. At such a high level of competition, I imagine that bragging rights provide a great incentive among the players.Since I have nothing better to do than read online poker blogs, I'll be watching the results carefully and keeping my own tally on both these players progress this year. Man....I really gotta ge

lost in webspace - charter member freeroll results
TINXDAD replied to TINXDAD's topic in FCP Poker Room
Thanks for the link. Very useful. -
I play a lot of internet poker on this site and Pokerroom.com, and have to agree that the 20 second time limit is just not enough. I also play live poker and time limits are not imposed unless time is called. They should at least add a Time button for an additional 20. Time is money and they know that.

do i have a shot at being daniel's protege ?

I kinda see it just like anything else. If you have the time and the energy to devote to this goal, then you or anyone for that matter can win this great opportunity. I'm not getting my hopes up, but if DN is giving the few of us a FREE chance at becoming something remarkable, I'll put my name in the hat. I call it the dirty job factor: Someones gotta do it. -
I ran into a similar problem the first day I signed up with real money. It turns out that because I changed my e-mail address after the new site was launched, it did not reconize me as a charter member. I called support and they had to match me with my old e-mail to verify my status. Since the problem was rectified, a (Charter Member) identifier can be seen by my username in My Account page.Good luck.

After several attempts, I seem to have run into a dead end while searching for any information regarding the first Charter Member Freeroll. I am planning to participate on the 31st and would like to see how many joined the first freeroll. Anyone have any idea where this info can be found. Support does not seem to have any answers.

My favorite game!I was just researching on google if anyone even knew how to play this game anymore. Glad to hear that some of you like the game. It involves tons of strategy thats why I like it. I would defenitely check out a site that had this game.I've showed the game to many of my poker pals and they can't get enough of it.Cool

When I'm on a losing streak AJ looks like gold. But exactly when are you supposed to make your comeback. AJ is not a bad starting hand, although you are out of position so I would not have 3 bet. Once you saw the flop, it would be hard not to call 1 SB and with the outs by the turn a call is the right play. You can still get away when your river missed.

Sounds like the same guy I once played at a room in Vegas. After buying in for a rack at this 1/2 NLHE, he says "welcome to the 1/12 game". I quickly learned what the inside joke was. He kept raising every single pot to 12bucks pre flop. He would pick up the blinds more often than not but that came to an end quickly as soon as the rest of us decided to take a stand. Whats scary about the whole thing is that he would manage at least a draw 85% of the time and would push in like your guy. Anyhow, in your case I would call him. Even if he made his str8 you could do the sucking out on the r

stealing blinds in micro limits.. is it worth it?
TINXDAD replied to GT123's topic in General Strategy
Hey sometimes the best defense is a stong offense so I agree to an extent. But I think too much stealing from blind stealers can lead to a negative table image. Lose little now, Win big later. -
Oh thats nasty!Sounds like you got caught in one of those perfect bluff scenarios. It happens.

K7s or not Yuck!!QJ I might even play w/ a late position raise.AX o/s not horrible. Situational.AX s come in for a raise to represent. One of the time early position will work for you. Call 2 bets. Never 3 bet.Position is very valuable.Home games are tough. Lots of Police.

stealing blinds in micro limits.. is it worth it?
TINXDAD replied to GT123's topic in General Strategy
I like steal attempts at any level. It's a huge part of the game dealing with both table image and use of the button advantage. SB and BB both risk playing marginal hands against the button, and I as the button have the edge in determining how hard to push after the flop. At the least you will gain much info from the players on your left which will become usefull in case you do wake up to a monster in the future. -
I think that 3betting this pre flop would have prompted you to play the hand the same way. You led out representing Top Pair and the 3bet would have them putting you on AQ or so. Either way you didnt give MP2 the chance to bet at the flop. Your extra bet would be better served check raising MP2 if he bet the flop. If MP2 or Button had a queen they are likely to call down the turn and river. 8 was a scare card for you, You would be justified to check the turn now allowing your opponents to try to steal but gaining valuable info. What was the showdown?
