  1. The result isnt posted, its in white (so unless you are a nosy gus, you don't know the results), as you have to manually do hand histories from FCP and I don't want to forget what my opponents had in a few days when someone undoutably asks what the results were.
  2. One new player to table that I have no info on, and one calling station involved in teh following hand with Hero. Everyone at the table with the exception of the newbie has seen the Calling Station check/call on every street of almost every hand he has played. Hands like Ace queen offsuit that he limped with from MP, Q 9 suited when a 9 high flops, etc. I look like a calling station myself in the hand...ANTES/BLINDSHero posts blind ($0.25), BB posts blind ($0.50)PRE-FLOPHero has 7s 7dUTG folds, UTG +1 folds, New To Table bets $1, MP folds, MP+1 folds, Calling Station Extraordinaire calls $1
  3. Who's debating? You and I agree for once, so this should be s fairly small thread.
  4. Why would anyone pick on Corky's parents?
  5. Surprisingly, I got all of the SNG bubble questions wrong, as I was playing way too loose...go figure.
  6. Lol. Its not a competition (thank goodness), as Actuary has my number on at least 49% of the topics discussed...
  7. I agree that you must win some races to go far/win, however, there is a huge difference between calling when it is a race at best, and pushing where someone calls you and it is a race. I KNOW you know the difference here, but you seem to be ignoring it...
  8. Your pre-flop raise made no sense if you weren't going to call an all-in bet behind you here. You have committed more than 25% of your stack (I haven't checked the math) pre-flop, only to fold to a raise behind you? This is a near perfect example of a push or fold UTG spot IMO, leaning very heavily towards pushing with your M of less than 3. If someone wakes up with a hand behind you, so be it.
  9. SB doubling up doesn't put him anywhere near a first palce finish with those stack sizes. It will however give him a far greater chance of making the money.
  10. Your BEST case scenario is that you are in a race IMO. You may very well be dominated here, whereas it is highly unlikely you wil have him dominated with your holdings.
  11. I think its an easy fold on the flop. What were you hoping to catch with your hand? You have little chance of getting the low (should it come), and your high prospects suck due to your kickers. I'm not convinced YOU were the hero in this hand...
  12. The pre-flop raise screams of pocket aces, or ace-2 (hopefully without a 3). If your opponent has A A 2 3, that's a nice hand for that flop!I would push, then post the hand on FCP looking for justification.
  13. As everyone knows, I dislike racing near the end of these things. You have played well for hours to get to this spot, and now we want to start flipping coins for a big payday? I hate that mentality. IMO - if you are a good enough player to get to this spot, you should be a good enough player to use the 13 000 chips you have left to find a better spot to acumulate chips than to be in a coin flip situation AT BEST.
  14. I agree with the other that you needed to push pre or post flop, however, I think the laydown was correct in that spot if you ignore everything else that happened in the hand.
  15. I have read it, and that is NOT what he is advocating, but you know that, so I won't go into details about how you have slightly modified what he has written to suit your slam of this book. I will say this though, that Volume III, when talking about SNG's, almost completely flip-flops from a lot of the advice he gave in Volume II about the bubble (IMO). Volume II advocated a lot of aggression when M's are low, but Volume III (sorta followiing what iggy is saying) is much tighter at the bubble when there are short stacks.
  16. I can't tell you that, as he didnt really play any hands so to speak. Any that he did play he only saw the flop and then folded. All we know is that he is tight, no idea if he is tight-passive, tight-aggressive, weak-tight, etc. due to the limited exposure.
  17. Im not convinced his advice is terrible in Vol. III. Perhaps it is the differences in buy-ins that is where the discrepancy is coming from?
  18. title of post is misleading, as it seems to indicate you have already layed it down. If that wasn't the type of flop you wanted to see with your holdings (barring a set), then why did you call the pre-flop raise? Baffling...
  19. $10 SNG, blinds are 100/200. Action so far is Button is a very agressive player post flop, but likes to see a lot of flops. SB has not been active.Seat 1: UTG + 1 ($2,175 in chips) Seat 2: MP ($290 in chips) Seat 3: CO ($3,230 in chips) Seat 4: Button ($3,625 in chips) Seat 5: SB ($1,410 in chips) Seat 6: Hero ($1,788 in chips) Seat 7: UTG ($2,482 in chips) ANTES/BLINDSSB posts blind ($100), Hero posts blind ($200).PRE-FLOPUTG folds, UTG + 1 folds, MP folds, CO folds, Button calls $200, SB calls $100, Hero checks 7D, 9CFLOP [board cards 8D,9D,6D]SB checks, Hero checks, Button bets $200, SB r
  20. I missed this post when it first came out. Facing a re-raise and a push, your 8's aren't worth beans. In fact, I'm not sure that jacks would be either...
  21. Re-steal/Steal against the medium-sized stacks (I am assuming we are doing it with any two cards). Small stacks are more likely to call than medium stacks, as are large stacks.
  22. If that was hero's intention, he needs to call here. Not sure why he thought a check-raise was good if he isn't going to go through with it.
  23. Against an opponent like that, I'm not sure I would have folded (which probably means it was spot on)...
  24. Booyah! I can't believe villain didnt cap the river...
  25. I think the river fold was the only thing I did right this hand. With two opponents, my A-3 low isn't worth diddly for the low. My chances at the high with just a pair of aces against two opponents, IMO is worth even less.
