you've got 300 bb, so it looks sufficient. The general rule though is if you lose 100 bb ($200) move down a level to .5/1 and build back up to $600 before continuing at 1/2. Do this and you should be fine.

oops it's already been answered...damn you guys are fastwell I guess you could figure it out like this...1 ace left out 48 unseen cards, so it would be 3/48 on the flop, 1/45 on the turn and 1/45 on the river in getting that ace so a 6.25% chance of hitting on the flop, 2.2% chance on turn and 2% chance on river -
Since there is only one Ace remaining in the deck, the chances are pretty slim:On the flop: 6.25%On the turn: 2.08%On the river: 2.08%So the total chance of the Ace falling somewhere on the board is 10.42%Hope this helps....I was just wondering if you guys could help me figure out what the percentages/chances of a hand like this happening. I've been playing limit .5/1 for a while now, averaging a little over 5 bb/100, and I'm planning on moving up to 1/2. As for the competion, is it noticeably tighter at 1/2? I'm wondering if it's just more profitable to keep three tabling at the .5/1 tables if the fish are much more prevalent there.As for which site, all of my play has been at Empire/Party.Thanks for any info.

Quick and probably simple poker tracker question...I've got a bunch of NL $25 hands, and a bunch of $.5/$1 limit hands, how can I filter them so that when I look at the profit/loss by starting hand data under the general info screen it gives me only the data for the $.5/$1 hands?I'd like to see my won/loss info by starting hand for limit, but they're skewed by the NL hands I've played. I assume there's a way this can be done, any info would be great.

Two hands after being big blind you were small blind? Hmm.....Two hands later...I get 9,2 offsuit again...Was in the small blind so I just called..flopped 2 pair 9's and 2's and won the hand again. -
But I don't think you factored in the fact that this is a 10 handed game. 1/270k would be the odds of AA vs AA if you were heads up.
I think the correct odds is like 1/270725. You need to take the fact that YOU drew AA in the first place.Thus, making the equation (4/52)x(3/51)x(2/50)/(1/49).

More like 1/60,000in a 10 handed game i came up with about 1 in 30,000. my math could be off a bit though...

Well, the odds of getting a pocket pair are lower than getting two non-paired cards, because one of the cards you are looking for is gone already. for exampe, if your first card is an A, you have a 3/51 chance of the second card being an A, whereas if you were looking for, say AK, and the first card was an A, you have a 4/51 chance of getting the King since they all still remain in the deck.So, the odds of getting any pocket pair are 3/51, or 1/17. And since there are 13 different numbered cards, the odds of getting AA are 1/17 * 1/13 = 221.Hope this helps...yes but are the chances of getting aces 1/225??? i thought there were 91 different starting hands in holdem NOT counting suits. so wouldnt that mean u have a 1/91 chance of getting dealt aces? or am i doing something stupid here.... btw, im talking only about one player getting aces at the moment, not 2 -

I think it was mentioned earlier, but the thing that makes 22 weak is the fact that you will face three over cards on all flops unless you trip up, making post flop play very difficult. Add to that the fact that you don't know you are up against AK; if your opponent has any pocket pair you are a huge dog. AK's strength lies in part due to the fac that it is only a huge underdog to two hands, AA and KK.

Yeah that would be helpful...thanks. I'm currently up $360 after 2,877 hands....figure this can't last but I'll post again when I reach 5-10,000 hands to see if it's fallen off.I've logged 60+ hours so far at the $25 NL tables on Party, and so far I have a rate of about $6.80/hr. If you estimate maybe 70 hands/hr, this is a little more than 4000 hands. I also started off really hot at these tables but a rate of $10+/hr is probably unsustainable. If you want, I can post my status after 10,000 hands. -

I recenty got poker tracker and after about 2900 hands of $25 NL I'm showing a profit of 25.23 BB/100...this seems inordinately high compared to what I've heard, but perhaps with small stake NL this is sustainable. I know 2,900 hands isn't enough but does anyone have an opinion on what the highest sustainable bb/100 is?

In addition steer clear of playing NL and Limit at the same time...it's tough to stay in the correct mindset and adjust for the difference between the two at the same time.That said, 2-tabling is often a good way to avoid tilting and pushing, since seeing more cards allows me to play a more patient game.
