  1. Very interesting Bob. I was wondering how the minor sites would fare with the "big 3" gone. I had heard of the loses that the three majors lost in the news articles, but was more interested in where all the hard core players would go. I guess we see now. I have been playing on Cake and have recognized alot of the $5/10 player from Stars grinding the .25/.50 tables that I like to play......or they just stole the screen names....lol.
  2. I would like to see a march on Washington. Not that it has ever done anything after Martin King Jr. did it in the early 60's. But I think if enough poker player got together, had a peaceful march. Didn't trash the place or clash with police maybe more of America would see that most of us are just small time grinders hoping to win a little, sometimes losing a little, but are not a problem to society in general. Most of us play for entertainment and are not losing the mortgage playing poker. I make very good money in my day job and lose more than I win at poker, but I look at that as the pr
  3. That makes sense why it's not up to par with what I have come to expect from a world class poker site. I have heard that the 2.0 version is not as good as the original.
  4. I have had success with Cake. I really like Lee Jones, the old card room manager at Stars and after he went to Cake I was curious to see how he would improve cake. Unfortunately I deposited $40 on my credit card and donked it away thinking that it would be no problem to deposit more. No such luck. I am sweating my bank account getting shut down over this. I use that account only for online poker and online transactions, but still, the situation is tenuous at best. I think the best we can all do is look over our games and play at the local card rooms. What worries me is this is legal situ

  6. I wish this site would be more active with actual content. I would love to make some poker player friends that have good results. I have friends that play, but they suck so they are not the best to talk to about hands. I don't like all the big blog site (2+2) but I get on here occasionally and wish there was more content and not 20 something kids talking trash about irrelevant subjects. Actually I take that back. You guys crack me up sometimes.....
  7. I am curious about this too. I'm in northern Indiana and thought about heading down south to play a few events in the tourny, just because it's so close and would be alot of fun. Alot of the good games have made way for hold'em in recent years and I really considered the H.O.R.S.E. event because I love the game and grew up with Stud and Ohmaha. I play online because I can play those games. Other that hold' em few are staked........I should be glad we have anything in indiana other than corn......lol.
  8. I think you played that hand pretty well given the known information you had. The sizable bet after the flop should have chased him out.....raise it a little more and maybe you could have taken it. But he was looking at about 9 outs, which you noted, and made the pot odds hard for him to call. But he wanted to gamble. The J gave 2 more out, and probably made him a little crazy at having anything hit with two face cards. AK can be hard to play, but I think you played it by the text, just got a bad break.....that's poker.
  9. He was betting on the second river card......lol. Sounds like he couldn't give up. Had a draw and wasn't priced too far out of the pot, but good players know when to call it quits.
  10. I would say that there are two great tactics that work great against an ultra-agressive opponent. Harrington had it right, I don't know if he came up with this or the mayfair club, but there are two great defenses1.Rope-a-dope2.The Hammer Ali is what I envision with the rope-a-dope. He would wait on the ropes and let his opponet take the best of him for a majority of the match then he would unleash the furry. Having wore out the oppenent while he had the best of it all the way he would eventually grind them out and end out on top because of their miscalculation of him. The hammer is where
