  1. If only I knew what whipsaw meant I'd be a better NL player. I too don't like just check/calling my combo draws but I really was a little lost here, I feel like waking up and leading on the turn gets seen as weakness quite a bit and if raised I committed myself with only one street to go here.
If person A bets, B calls, and C raises, B is said to be "whipsawed" between A and C.Accounting for the stacks, you're right about being committed. I think the flop check-raise would be best.
  2. I hate that you can't find a bet or a raise on the flop or turn. We should title this "ZOMG! Combo draws!"Flop I can maybe forgive, given your read... but I think we need to try to make our presence known here. Edit: No, I can't anymore. I think we need to raise now that we've whipsawed Ganador here. We have a ton of equity on the flop.Assuming the flop call, I REALLY wish you'd lead anywhere between $150 and $300 on the turn. You have a TON of outs on one pair, and it'll be scary that you've woken up.

  3. Never seen it
It's awesome. The Japanese are such a goofy people. And it's really cool at the same time. It's a 4-stage obstacle course and the events are REALLY twisted.Makoto Nagono the Fisherman and Bunpei Shiratori the Civil Servant are my main men.
  4. Haven't read replies...I'm not a big fan of it. Looking at the stack size differential, you're daring the button to move in over your check-raise. Your check-raise doesn't have much fold equity against a late position bettor......And if you miss on the turn you're sitting there out of position with no good play. You check, he moves in, you bet, he moves in.Save creativity for late position!

  5. Good Monday morning from sunny Raleigh, North Carolina.I'm going to a real estate conference in Virginia Beach from Tuesday to Friday, so I left to meet the parents at their apartment up here in NC last night.lol @ shaver

  6. Heads up against an aggro late position stealer...I really think we should bet/3-bet the flop. Show aggression on the cheap streets, slows them down on the expensive streets. If capped on the flop, I check/call down. If just called on the 3-bet, I'm leading any turn.Fold equity!

  7. Haven't read replies...I think raising is standard here. We've got a bettor and two callers, and somewhere around 30ish% pot equity... the raise is for value and a free card. I realize there may be flush draws out there, but our OESD + two overs helps make up for that.I think you're leaving money on the table if you just call here.

  8. I agree no worse hands call... but I contend we can make better hands fold.KQ, 99, or 22 would all consider bet/folding the river. The only problem is that it's highly unlikely villain has any of those hands based on the way he played. With that in mind, maybe flat-calling the river would have been better in this particular situation.

  9. I'm so proud of your wild aggressive self!I really like flop, turn, and river, especially your plan for the river.I see your reasons for popping him preflop... and I definitely DON'T want to discourage you from discovering your inner aggro...But I'd probably just call preflop. There are probably better situations to mess with this guy preflop.I really like the postflop line though.

  10. Can someone explain the raise-fold river play to me? It's something that I have never used or even considered as an option in limit.
There are generally two situations where you might consider a raise/fold line on the river. One is when the board is strong, 4 to a straight/flush, trips/two pair on board, that sort of thing... and you have a hand that connects in some way to beat many hands, but not the most obvious hand that the Villain is representing. In this situation, SB is representing the T for a straight. However, if he had two pair/set, or some hand that the board just shat on, he might be bet/folding into the river representing the goods. He'd want us to think he has the ten and we'd throw away our hand. So we raise to give him the opportunity to fold after he bets.If we're ahead, we're raising for value. If we're behind, we can get better non-T hands (KQ, 99, 22, etc) to fold and win the whole pot. And, if we're three-bet, we can be quite sure he had the T anyway. The other situation for a raise/fold line is more of a pure bluff, best used against aggro maniacs (which comes up a lot at short-handed). If you're a TAG or LAG/TAG playing against a psycho... when you play a pot heads up with a psycho sometimes all the betting and raising on the flop and turn is too predictable and won't give you any information. Eventually us and Villain are betting/raising on the flop and turn for no reason... almost like we're jockeying for fold equity. Then the pot's huge by the river and nobody knows where they're at.So instead of that, when we're heads up in position on a psycho... we call the flop, call the turn, and raise/fold the river when we're marginal and don't want to bloat the pot getting carried away with things along the way. Like, for example, say you have JT on an A-T-3 flop, he comes out bet/raising on the flop... No way in hell he's capable of that ace, so we'll just call down and then pop him on the river. The idea is you deliberately make 2 bet-sized mistakes in the hopes that your opponent will make a POT-sized mistake on the river.
  11. Haven't read replies...For Hand 1...The good news is they can't check-raise you all in! Even before I saw the river action I thought you needed to keep firing on the turn. Work with the fold equity. Interesting thought: is the pot juuuuuuuuust small enough that we could fold if check/raised on the turn? Against an unknown? I know that the creativity lends itself to aggression, especially at this level... so I think I'd call down if check/raised on the turn. I'd feel like I was lighting money on fire calling off another bet on that queen though.Hand 2...I don't play as high as 30/60... but I can't seem to talk myself out of value-betting the river. We've had the lead the whole way, probably playing defense with the best hand. Flushes missed, only straights are backdoor... I think you need to bet/call the river. If he wants to pay off a bad kicker, give him the opportunity.

  12. $10 NL...Yeah, just come over the top. You'll be stunned how many times they'll burn felt calling with A6o.Incidentally, next time, lead for more on the flop. You don't want to lead into a multiway pot with two of a suit and straight draws with a 2/3 pot bet when you're protecting TPTK.Considering the stakes I don't even mind a flop overbet to price draws badly... maybe something like $2.50.

  13. okay....standupcomedyvideos.net...Robin Williams...Video 9/12...3 minutes left in the video."Here's mae ideae fer a fookin' sport... Ah knock a boll in a gopher hole!""Oh ya mean like pool?""FAHCK OFF pool..."hilarity ensuesI'm done now I promise
