The Official Jamie Gold Is A Better Player Than I Am Thread
chrisuk_sw replied to Socrates's topic in General Poker Forum
He should have got 10 minutes for the card flash, I agree. The fact that he didn't was a fault of the TD and the other players.I'll check on the top-top comment. I'll make a thread about it either way, _Great_Dane_Gold ran well - all champions do. Fossilman laid a couple of bad beats on people at the FT. Hachem got lucky with his all-in with Q8. But as for running better than anyone ever has before? Pfft, step forward, Robert Varkonyi.... -
The Official "i Hate Jamie Gold" Wsop Final Table Thread
chrisuk_sw replied to scottyno's topic in General Poker Forum
I only watched the live webcast. I don't know if I will change any of these opinions when I see the ESPN coverage, but what I took from the Main Event Final Table was that:- I can't remember Gold getting big money in as a dog and sucking out- I do remember Gold getting big money in as a favourite and getting sucked out on- AC played well for a while and then tailed off- If I was Gold and had the chips and a chance to take the best player out, I probably would have taken it- Gold played the best at the final table. I may have disliked him personally, but he deserved to winYou people are whining -
The Official Jamie Gold Is A Better Player Than I Am Thread

I'll have to re-download the torrent to check, but I'm fairly sure that in the hand in question, the other player pushed all-in and Gold called, and as he was calling he said "top-top". If I'm wrong, and Gold pushed and announced his hand, then yes, that's wrong, but that's not how I remember the hand going down. I didn't think he did anything wrong at the time. -

Didn't the "top top" comment come only after the guy had pushed and Gold said something like "I have top top, I have to call"? I didn't think he announced his hand before the guy pushedand there's nothing wrong with him saying "don't worry I'll show" ? -
It will be televised in the UK (can't remember if it'll be Challenge TV, Channel Five or Sky Sports) - you might have to torrent it in the US

The Official Jamie Gold Is A Better Player Than I Am Thread

Quick question- watching the ME coverage, Gold is getting a lot of flack for collusion, but I haven't seen or heard anything that I consider unethical. Anyone got a direct quote that is? -

The Allen Cunningham Appreciation Thread...
chrisuk_sw replied to alf13's topic in General Poker Forum
HiI would have liked to hear him speak after he busted. I'm sure Matusow felt like it was the end of the world last year but he still gave interviews afterwards. I am guessing that he didn't give an exit interview because he felt that he *didn't* play his grade A+ game.At points, Cunningham was devastating, mixing it up beautifully, getting in there when no-one else was challenging Gold, and that call with A9 was just incredible....but I wonder what would you all be saying if Gold had made the call with QJ, that's all -
thanks stan- I figured as much. Did you get the info from a website? I trawled through cardplayer and pokerwire to no avail...

Me and two buddies are in the Luxor playing roulette, raucously drunk. We're sucking down Midori sours, when my friend, who is wearing this hat and is killing the table despite being barely able to stand, knocks his drink with his elbow. Luminous green booze pours all over the place. Everyone freezes. My mate said "No problem", leant forward and proceeded sucking all the alcohol out of the felt. Job done, he leant back with a **** eating grin and sticky green fuzz all over his face. The croupier's jaw dropped, her face a picture of aghast horror.I've never been so proud.

Hello. Me and a friend did something similar, except we each took 20 players. I've found out about most of them, but was wandering if anyone knew what had happened to:Mickey Appleman ($36000 after day one... day 2 ?)John Hennigan ($12400 after day one... day 2 ?)Chau Giang ($8500 after day one... day 2 ?)Chris BjorinTony GKirill GerasimovMuch appreciated!

I did see it bud, but to be honest it was not that memorable !Did you see episode 9, you would have had a chance to see a legend in the making.I probably did, but it does not stick in the memory ! Was it you by any chance ?Yeah i was on it, i had the really long hair and black shirt and tie on. The announcer kept making fun of me the whole broadcast. I was actually leading the table for most of the show and then the blinds cut into me pretty badly. It was me George Geary, Lawerence Gosney, Jason Jung and Xanthos Chalabambos and some other dude.vaglvr - you're on Challenge TV right now! -

Depends - if you have A2s and there is a board with 345s, you are only guaranteed to split the low with any other player with a wheel. -
No backup plan, but I can't make myself belief something I feel to be false. Also, given that the world is full of meaningless and unjust suffering, I sincerely hope that Christianity, Islam and Judaeism are wrong - if there is an intelligent creator, he clearly doesn't like us.

I've got a soft spot for 69.... good ole big lick -
The only times I limp/smooth call with AA/KK is when I'm playing heads up, or in this specific situation:- its late on in a NL tournament and the blinds are so high there's usually only 2 players to the flop- someone in EP/MP has put in a significant raise preflop and I have position

Good stuff vaglvr, I'm pretty sure I saw your episode as I followed the Pacific Poker Open but I only have a vague recollection of that episode. I hope they'll repeat it again so I can check out your moves -

anyone else found the poker channel?
chrisuk_sw replied to walktheplank69's topic in General Poker Forum
Boo, I've got NTL not Sky, so no Poker Channel for me... what I want to know is why British Eurosport never show what they say they're going to show? Whenever there's any poker listed I've tuned in to find they're showing boxing. Or curling. Or the international heads-up crocheting finals. grrrrrr -
I wouldn't mail her at all. If she asks why you haven't mailed her so much as normal just say something cryptic like "I've been busy with some things" or maybe "some new people"

are there live updates for this on the net anywhere? -
Hi Rising, good to see another West Country boy on here (the sw in my name is for South West, just living and working in Leeds...)ANYHOOIf you want her to want you, you must make yourself less available. Everyone who's posted that you should move on is dead right. Don't start being an a$$hole or anything to her, just hang out with different people, don't mail her much, have other stuff going on, definitely see other women. Don't have time to listen to her problems. Let her find girlfriends for that. Most of the women I know like a lot of emotional stimulus - they love to feel, to empathise with

You are just making stuff up here. The ancient Babylonians and Greeks who formalised the scientific methods discerned that the Earth was round, some even came up with heliocentric models of the solar system. They also calculated the circumference of the Earth with astounding accuracy given their technology. The only people who believed the Earth was flat were people making statements out of their own ignorance. Saying that you KNOW stuff is not science, it is blind faith. Making a hypothesis that has testable predictions that can be verified or falsified independently is science.
