  1. I'd like to hear this too. I wouldn't have liked a 3-bet. That's why I called.
  2. BB is very weak. He sees almost all flops. I have also seen him bet weak hands and bluff with nothing a couple of times.SB hasn't played many hands, no other read.Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is MP3 with [Jd], [Ks]. 5 folds, SB calls, BB calls.Flop: (6 SB) [Qh], [Jh], [3h] (3 players)SB checks, BB bets, BB calls, Hero calls. This looks like the kind of flop BB may bluff at so I raise, to isolate and for info. Didn't work. Getting good odds to call the 3-bet, but I'm not sure what my outs are, if any. Should I have folded?Turn: (7.50 BB) [Js] (3 players)SB bets,
  3. I got a Sony Vaio a while back and love it. The quality of the screen is important to me and the Vaio has the best screen I've seen. The one drawback I've noticed so far is that the battery life isn't that great. Also, as already mentioned, if you multitable more than 2 tables you'll have a lot of overlap.A lot of people will probably recommend Dell. I haven't used one so I can't compare them to Vaio.
  4. I know, that was stupid. Tilt after losing too many pots.Fine otherwise?
  5. I have just sit down so no reads.Pretty sure I'm behind after the flop check-raise, but I picked up an OESD on the turn. The river call is probably bad, but I closed the action and I didn't want to have to buy a new laptop in case I would fold the best hand. ;)Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is Button with [Js], [Jc]. 2 folds, BB calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls.Flop: (15.50 SB) [8h], [As], [Td] (5 players)BB checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, CO checks, Hero bets, CO calls, Hero calls, BB calls, MP1 calls.Turn: (12.75 BB) [9c] (5 players)BB checks, MP1 checks, M
  6. I thought so, I just wanted it confirmed. Calvin and Hobbes rule.
  7. I don't know, my read wasn't good enough. My gut feeling is that he would have slowed down, but I can see the benefit of that line against an aggressive player.
  8. I have been at the table for only one round so no strong read on CO, other than that he has played 4 hands during that round and seems somewhat aggressive. Is the following a good line? I call the flop raise with the intention of check-raising the turn. I think I get .5BB more this way instead of 3-betting the flop, but is it stupid to risk him checking the turn?Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is SB with [Ks], [As]. 4 folds, CO calls.Flop: (7 SB) [5s], [4s], [Ac] (2 players)Hero bets, Hero calls.Turn: (5.50 BB) [7d] (2 players)Hero checks, CO bets, CO calls.River: (
  9. Here's a link to the math behind the 300BB number:http://archiveserver.twoplustwo.com/showth...ost682045683150If you put in a risk of ruin of 1% and a somewhat normal win rate and standard deviation you'll get about 300BB. It is not guaranteed that you will go broke with a lower bankroll (or that you won't with 300BB), but the chance to do so increases the lower you go.

  12. I'm not very comfortable playing against LAGs yet, so could someone say why it's better to raise the flop?I agree that it would be for value, but the way I'm thinking is that if he has a worse hand than I, then a flop raise might slow him down and I won't get the big bets from the turn and the river. Also if he has hit the flop or has a pocket pair, then I'm paying him off instead.I don't have a good enough read to say how he would act if he got played back at.
  13. CO is loose aggressive and has been raising a lot.Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (7 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is Button with [Qc], [As]. 3 folds, Hero calls.Flop: (9.50 SB) [3h], [9d], [Ts] (2 players)CO bets, Hero calls.Turn: (5.75 BB) [6d] (2 players)CO bets, Hero calls.River: (7.75 BB) [2s] (2 players)CO bets, Hero calls.Final Pot: 9.75 BB
  14. I quite recently got pokertracker through pso at Party. It's easy to clear and I had no problem with pso, and I think a lot of other people will tell you the same thing. To do it, you just use the referral id from pso and play the required number of raked hands. Then you download the demo version of pokertracker. After you have cleared the requirements, you notify pso of this through their site and they'll send you a registration key for PT.
  15. Got it, good point. I agree with your line, just a comment on this. We are last to act on the turn. Also we are probably thrilled to have SB and/or BB call two cold on the flop, but we probably shouldn't count on that since the pot is so small.
  16. Is raising the flop really wrong? You may force out the SB and BB and that's the bad side, but if they are loose they may still call and that's great. However, my main point is that it may buy you a free card on the turn. And you don't really mind a re-raise from EP either, since you probably have the best hand here.Am I way off?
  17. Do you think Antonio's chip stack might be important in this situation??The cardplayer text could be read as if Antonio is sitting between Green and Juanda, so he first calls Green's all-in and then Juanda re-raises all-in and he calls that too.Makes it a bit more understandable. But it was stupid move because that busted Juanda in 17th place and I have him as my number 3 spot in the fantasy pool. :x Btw, I'm not totally trusting the reports from cardplayer. For example, it still says that Eli Elezra finishes in both 18th and 16th place.
  18. I guess you have point there. At least in a case like this. It's just that I'm a math junkie and like exact numbers. Point taken. No need to apologize. I really appreciate your advice. I just get annoyed when a good thread goes up in flames, which seems to happen around here quite a bit. I'll take your word for the necessity to be assertive though, you surely know that better than I.Now when we're all friendly and cudly let's get back to topic, shall we?How about this question: Bet 80-100% of the pot again and be prepared to fold in case of a big re-raise? I find it hard to lay down a set at t
  19. Damn, I should know better than to get into this. This is my last off-topic post, unless there's something constructive to say. I never said I was offended, but it's pretty simple to see the effect of the way you express yourself. I just offered a suggestion, I won't bother to try again. You're right that I don't know you, never claimed to either, but thanks for proving my point about jumping to conclusions. You know, if you would look at when I joined it says February and furthermore it actually IS possible to read the forum without being registered.
  20. I couldn't quite drop this hand yet. I've been doing some calculations and these are the results. (This will be a pain to type...)I changed history a bit and let SB totally miss the flop so he will fold to anything. I think that makes the hand just as interesting.I have calculated the following four cases. In all cases I have calculated both when UTG+1 calls off his whole stack and when he doesn't put in any more money. I won't type out the calculations of when he folds, but instead just type that value afterwards within parenthesis. As I said in a previous post UTG+1 was as fishy as they come
  21. To Absolute:I'm going to give you a suggestion. Please, don't take this as a flame. Why don't you tone it down some? In at least the 3 first of your posts in this thread you state your oppinion very strongly without backing it up with any arguments or arguments that don't apply. I even had to explicitly ask before you gave away your reasoning. I can take critiscism if it's well argumented but just throwing out things like they are facts when other people are disagreeing won't really win any arguments. You started by saying this: And ended up by saying this (After having flamed away in between)
  22. This is exactly my thinking.I said in another post that I normally bet this flop, but I want to mix up my play a bit and I don't think this is a bad play. Check-raising is not the same as slowplaying so the conditions don't apply. It would be a mistake on my part if he checks, but it's not because of the slowplaying conditions.Edit: I looked at my original post and the wording of my thoughts on the flop was unfortunate. I shouldn't have mentioned slowplay. Also, I should have said in the OP that UTG+1 is a total fish, he could have anything.
  23. Most of the time I do bet the flop here, but I like to change how I play now and then even though it's not really necessary at this level as you get paid off most of the time anyway.
  24. That's what I did except for the take-down-the-big-pot part as I was totally dominated by SB's pocket 7s and finally losing the pot to MP1 who called with the nut flush draw and hit it on the river...Btw, the final pot was $129.10, which is the largest I've seen so far.I wanted to post this because I started questioning myself afterwards. I was afraid SB had a set, but I guess that that would be too narrow a range of hands to put him on. No problem. Didn't remember who it was that posted it originally, but it's a good idea.
