  2. I don't know about poker-pal, but Poker Tracker reads the hand histories that are stored on the hard drive. That's no biggie.Poker Tracker doesn't work with sites that don't support storing of hands.
  3. With the risk of getting flamed...I have done something similar when I've stepped up a limit. We all know how we should think in terms of BBs instead of $ and that we should play hours and not results. We also know that we shouldn't leave a good table if we're playing well. However, personally, I've had some trouble being objective when moving up a limit. I know to think about big bets, but when a big bet suddenly is larger it seems that my bankroll leaps up or down in giant steps when I'm winning/losing at the new level. I know this is all in my head, but I'm still affected psychologically.I a
  4. I read an article where this was mentioned. I don't remember where and it was some time ago, so take this with a few tons of salt. It could have been in cardplayer, but I'm not sure. From what I recall of it, it said that pretty much that the winnings from aces through queens would be about the same as the amount you have won and that all the other hands just barely keeps you ahead of blinds and rake. Now that I think about it, it could have been just the author's observations of his own stats and not a general "fact".
  5. Agree about the dealer button. I've also had trouble locating it.I think a good idea would be to offer a number of different looks or themes. You could have at least one very minimalistic and clear for the multiplayers and those who prefer that. Then you could have a flashy one to attract all the players that are drawn by cool graphics and stuff.
  6. I'm not sure exactly what you're meaning with leaving the table, because that's not necessary. It's enough to press "sit out" and then cashier, then sit back in again. You don't have to actually leave the table.Just clarifying.
  7. Wrong. Don't assume I'm being results oriented. This time I called, missed the flop and folded to BB's bet, but that makes no difference whatsoever why I posted this.I've played A-rag differently in similar situations and I'm not comfortable with any way. When I push it always seems like I end up with the blinds (which I'm not saying is bad) or this happens: It's just that when I've got a stack of about 10BB, I still have quite a bit of leverage and only get called when I'm dominated (unless I'm playing against DrZebra  ). That's why I don't like pushing with it.
  8. If your raise drives out MP1, your equity will normally increase by about 10% if he has a king (or if he has a hand like Ax that would have outdrawn you on the river). The pot is a bit over 10sb when it gets back to you, so your raise in effect buys you 10% of that pot (1sb) if it drives MP1 out. In this sense, your 3-bet will earn you more than if you just called (0.35 x 12sb). Also, if you had just called (occassionally MP might fold for 1 bet anyway). But, if MP calls the 3-bet a small fraction of the time, you make a lot more than if you simply called when he has a hand like JJ.Excelle
  9. My main question in this hand was whether to bet/call, bet/raise or check/raise this flop. What should my main goal be here? I bet/call because I didn't want to drive out MP1 by making it 2 cold to him. I figured my equity is bigger with him still in (even though he possibly makes two king outs dirty). Is this wrong?I think check-raise is a good option too, but if MP1 checks and MP3 bets, then the above question is still valid.I also considered check-raising the river, but I really don't want it checked through, plus by betting I could get another BB from MP1. The flop is more interesting, I th

  11. This is my gut play, but I don't know if I like it.The problem with it as I see it is that the risk/reward ration isn't very good. Either I take down the blinds or I get called and is likely dominated by Ax or a pocket pair. But,I don't like folding.I don't like calling.I don't like raising 3x bb.I don't like pushing.
  12. A2s is lot better than a random hand. Don't take that as I want to play it, I'm just saying.

  14. Initial raise was to 190, he raised to 380... is he allowed to raise any less than that? If so, then I retract my original "beware of the min-raise" comment. I'm not saying I couldn't be wrong--I only tend to notice these things when I see the chips lined up on the virtual felt. You're missing that he's going all-in.Edit: And what DrZebra said.
  15. Excellent point. It's been mentioned that you might be up against Aces or Kings and of course that would be bad, but I don't think anyone has talked about another AK and how bad it would be to be playing for a split pot.Since this got brought up, and I think the discussion is about to end, I'll post the results and reveal how apt the title of the post really is :-)MP3 called with AKoCO called with AKsButton had 22I guess button was very happy the split second it took for the flop to bring the remaining king. And that I, CO and button were kinda happy after that until the turn and river brough
  16. I'm gonna give it a final shot. The best possible situation BB can expect is to be up against Ax without a heart. (That's stretching it, especially if we look at this situation generally)Then he's got 4 outs with one card to come, which means he's got 10.5:1 in odds to hit it.If we include flushes, boats and flush draws this number will in effect be a lot worse. So let me ask you this: When should you *fold* a hand if you won't fold this one?I freely admit that I'm far from a world class player, but this whole hand looks very fishy to me.
  17. I like this analysis. Not sure what I think the best play is yet though.
  18. When in doubt, agree with gobears and pretend that you came to the same conclusions independently. That was exactly what I was going to do.Actually, he sums up my thinking very well in this hand. I admit that I didn't think about some of my outs being gone, which is likely. My original question about stack sizes affecting this play is still interesting to me. Of course stack sizes should affect your decision, but let's make it a bit more specific. I made it vague on purpose so as not to give away too much.If we assume that pushing is the best play here, which doesn't seem too controversial, w
  19. This is the most ridiculous analogy I've seen. It's a horrible play and it lost him money as it should have *that* time. Period.Would you care to say *why* it's a horrible play?To DrZebra: I think it's funny that you say this is a bad play, but like the play in your other thread, as I advocate this play from a tournament equity standpoint.Suggestion to OP: Don't post results in the future, it may affect the answers you get.
  20. I agree completely. 3-flush paired board. Not exactly ideal to put it mildly. The flop and turn bets also look really weird to me.
  21. First of all, it's kind of confusing when you talk about immediate implied odds. Immediate odds is the pot to call ratio. Implied odds is what you can expect to win in this hand if you hit your draw. It's very clear that you don't have implied odds in this sense here. I can do the math, but I don't think this is what you're after. What I think you mean is tournament equity. If that's the case, then you absolutely have to include the number of players left and the payout structure. I guess this could be the final table, but without all the information there's no way to answer your question.
  22. I 3rd about Gigabet.Would it be ok with you to ask about the 3k bets on the flop and turn into the 15.5k and 21.5k pots respectively without being familiar with it...?
  23. I think I like this move now. I would aim for at least top 3 if I was in that spot and we really need to double up to get a somewhat comfortable stack.Even though SB is chip leader, he should be getting desperate as well, so his range here is quite large. As for folding here and go for steals, I think it's hard to say without being there playing, but it should be quite hard as everyone is short stacked and getting desperate (and as Scott said, may have to call blind). In short, I'd move in here with KQ.
  24. I did not consider this that ontop of possibly being dominated here, if we aren't dominated probably 2 out of our outs might be taken.Neither did I. Good point.
