  1. One other thing to consider is that is that when the hero holds hand 1, there are only 3 aces left in the deck. The chances of the villain having AAxx (and thus the risk of a 4-bet) go way down.
  2. I agree with Royal Tour; preflop limp is a mistake (but not a large one, imho, and certainly not worthy of drama).
  3. Just for the record, I would never assign this tight a range to any villains I know. I would most definitely get my money in the middle here. Your play is only a small mistake against a set, and I think very profitable against the whole range of almost any villain.
  4. You have more than the size of the pot left. You're getting worse than 2 : 1 odds from the pot. 1.7 or so.You have 7 outs against a flush. (The usual 9 minus the two in the villain's hand.) That's 2.6 : 1.You have 9 outs against a straight. That's 1.8 : 1 or so.You have 11 outs against a set, but subject to redraws, so again about 2 : 1.The math you're doing at the table is that there's more than more than the size of the pot left to play (so the pot is laying you less than 2:1) and you're about a 2 : 1 dog. Therefore, fold against the super tight range.
  5. I don't feel the need to 3-bet this preflop, personally. You're almost always going to be putting yourself into one of these reverse implied odds situations. Whatever equity edge we have preflop is dwarfed by the positional disadvantage, imho.
  6. It depends. :-/At full ring, I fold AQo in early position. I don't flat call with unsuited aces out of position. I consider the range of the raiser and reraise or fold accordingly.Always consider the stack sizes. Are you willing to back one pair with your stack? Have a plan before the flop. Adjust the plan if necessary. C-bet less often against multiple callers. See the FAQ.
  7. What happens if the second guy mucks, too?
  8. I argue limping exactly AA UTG is FPS against unobservant opponents and transparent against observant ones.

  10. The definition is easy enough, but the application is tricky. Suppose the hero is in position with a medium strength hand -- say two pair on a coordinated board -- on the river. A villain bets. If the villain has a high aggression, the hero reasons that he's betting with hands worse than his medium strength hand. So he should therefore raise. But because he has a high aggression, he's unlikely to call. So the hero should just call. :-/If the villain has a low aggression, the hero reasons that the villain would usually just bet hands that beat his medium strength hand. But he would call

  14. Look at your results by position, too. I was losing money UTG before I looked at my poker tracker stats.
  15. I don't think the odds tell us anything unless we have something to compare it to.
