  2. hello all,I just read this book on the big game and I was wondering what your opinions are of it. I was impressed by the book; I thought it was a good read and I thought he did an excellent job researching the matter. I remember from past posts, that Daniel and many people on this site thought that he would be a significant favorite over Howard Lederer, even in limit hold 'em. After reading the book (and granted I've never played against or seen either of them play heads up limit hold em) I would have to believe that Lederer would be a significant favorite. 3. the raise preflop was correct. Why raise more than the size of the pot? You are only going to win the blinds, or get called by someone with a much better hand. If four people call you so be it...on the other hand, you should have bet the size of the pot on the flop, then slowed down if you got a caller.
  4. The reason why berating bad players is such a bad idea, aside from being tactless and obnoxious, is that you are encouragingthem to play better. if no one tells them what an awful play they just made, theyll keep on making the same mistake and eventually lose all their money. By yelling at them, not only will they realize what a terrible play they just made, they will also try to play better so they dont get screamed at again. So if you want to make money, dont clue the fishies in that they are in fact fish.
  5. i really think the only way you can play against the type of people you play against is really tight. bad beats happen and so do bad nights, but that doesnt mean you wont win in the long run. let the guy with the 3-4 call you til the end. i play in a 50 min pot limit omaha/hold em game. its the same way with me. i play really tight, and i get paid off especially in omaha. sometimes a really good player with a big stack can take advantage of my predictability, but i will still take the fish's money.
