  1. Another example of why live poker is usually rigged.beat me to it, damn.
  2. I'm playing in a tournament tonight with a group of people that I know real well, but have only recently started playing poker with. 18 players, $20 buy-in. I usually do pretty well in tournaments I play with better players... but with this group, I can't seem to even come CLOSE to the money. It's a group with very few pre-flop raises, alot of callers to my pre-flop and post-flop bets, and calling all the way down with mediocre hands. How should I play this? Loosen up my starting hand requirements, bluff less, and make larger bets when I'm pretty sure I have the best hand since they're go
  3. since nobody else has, I'll make the required dickhead post... you want to ENSURE he keeps playing that way by ASSURING him... you can't "ensure him that he's..." unless you're speaking of that stuff for old people... but that, I don't know enough about.Class dismissed.
  4. Fantastic post, Bender. I've recently managed to step away from a bad run myself... with the exception of the occasional free-roll, of course (my BR on pokerchamps is up to almost 3 bucks after taking 20th in a $35 freeroll and then tripling up at .02/.04 NL!) but I realized that when seeing AK lose to AQ more often than Rip Hamilton travels and seeing AA lose to more underdogs than Mike Tyson starts to affect my attitude and my daily life, it's time to step back, get everything else straightened back up, and then jump back in when I remember why I started playing poker in the first place.
  5. you didn't have to explain yourself, I was making a joke.. I figured it was obvious enough, but I guess not... no wonder the (sw) is so omnipresent.
  6. so with this being said... if you limp, play your AA all the way to the end, or fold on the flop, every single time... pick one or the other, and be consistent. That way, you'll only EITHER fold the best hand or pay off a better hand, rather than do both.
  7. http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...ht=limp+reraise I didnt say I agreed with it necessarily... just bringing up the fact that the thread exists.
  8. wasn't there just an entire thread where the majority believed that if you limp re-raise, you might as well scream out "I have Aces!"?
  9. pushing all in (for another ~1400) against the small stack's all in and the big stack's over-the-top raise may be a somewhat loose play, sure... but a bad play? Not if you're trying to make a move. Just my opinion, and since my post count is >20, probably a meaningless one.
  10. I don't know how you all missed the humor in that statement... I nearly choked on my wheat thins.Wasn't a "brief love fest" how this discussion got started in the first place?
  11. Talk of Krablar has gone the way of Crystal Pepsi... cute at first, but enough to make one cringe after a few tastes. It's time to lay the Krablar to rest... cure it, kill it, eat it, select your own cliche... but how about we make this the last mention of it?
  12. And to think... he didn't even raise with it. 13. playing .50/1.00 at Party, get 22 in the small blind. 2 raises, so it's 1.25 back to me. I should fold this, right? I just got a little upset when the flop came 423, and a 2 came on the turn. Someone tell me that folding is more profitable in the long run before i break something.
  14. the 30 seconds I spent reading the first few hands before I realized I care more about who's gonna win American Idol is 30 seconds of my life I'll never get back.
  15. Waffle House is far from being a "Southern" thing anymore... but have no fear, the North hasn't stolen your ideas of drowning your own children in the bathtub or chaining people to the bumper of a truck.
  16. "The" came out in the late 90's... the real question is, what happened to "da"?
  17. yes, because if you watch the real WSOP, they always show meaningless hands like a mid-pair against a busted straight... could Tilt POSSIBLY be more unrealistic by only showing the exciting hands that people would want to watch?
  18. A9 suited... looks pretty, but unless 2 9's come on the flop, I lose every time.
  19. if you use a Partypoker code that hasn't been applied to your account beforehand, you won't get the bonus... I tried it with the Real$100, 50%. When I sent them an e-mail asking why it wasn't showing on my bonus account, they told me it hadn't been applied to my account, and therefore I couldn't use it.
