</lurk>This is a sincere question from a NLHE player/PLO8 noob:Why are so many people talking about wanting to isolate with this hand? The hand is so marginal that it seems like our best chance is to hit a bunch of hearts (if we're going to play it at all). Wouldn't we want more people and a bigger pot if that happens? Thanks for any help on this.(I also don't understand trying to isolate on a $2 table, but I'll leave that one alone for now.)

I need help playing tournaments in this league (www.inhousepokerleague.com) at local bars in my area. Play is pretty poor for the most part (loose passive). I've been playing pretty tight and depending on my post flop play to win chips. I've made the final table several times but I'm usually pretty short stacked. After the break, the blinds take a big jump (in an already fast structure). I usually find myself getting blinded away while waiting for something good to push with.So lately I've been trying to play more aggresively to accumulate more chips and I'm failing miserably. I can't te

Asia, does your rakeback stack with the VFP program?

I'm not trying to pass myself off as an expert. But as someone who predominantly plays NL, my observation is that the focus in cash games and tournaments is different. In cash games, the idea is to win the most money. It doesn't end your day if you bust out because if it's a good game, you can rebuy and keep shooting. However, in tournaments the goal is to survive. Obviously there are similarities, but this difference affects the way I approach certain situations. For example, I agree with some posters about blind stealing. For me, in cash games blind stealing is about worthless. Sure, s

Yes, I agree it's painfully obvious that there's a horde of young meatheads on here.Using "gay" as an insult is pretty immature. Grow up.I wasn't "accusing" DN of being gay. Are you a censored homophobe? Go back to ogling Shana Hiatt. I was stating that DN "looks" bi-sexual, like John Juanda "looks" Asian. My comment might have been stupid, but you're the meathead here.LOL TFABOM, you misread my post. I wasn't labeling this thread as gay. I was referring to the people that did and voicing my disapproval. Re-read my post in that context and with the posts I quoted.BTW, I'm not sure how anyon -

Post Of The Day!Not to be mean to DN but that was damn funny. Although this is my favorite forum, it's sometimes painfully obvious that it's dominated by younger guys. They can't have a thread about female players with it devoloving into a discussion about their looks. Yet *this* thread is gay and needs to be hijacked. And the worst insult imaginable is to accuse a guy of being gay.Sometimes amusing, but mostly tiresome. -
Nah, you would have crushed him if it went to fisticuffs.BTW, my wife likes your 'do. She has a similar one and I think it looks great on both of you!

Thanks for the feedback guys. The blinds were indeed .10/.25 and a standard raise for premium hand was between $1 - $2. I can accept that I was unlucky. I just wanted some fresh eyes to look and see if I made an obvious mistake that was going to cost me in the future. Thanks again.

I don't get how this hyperaggressive thing works. If he hadn't hit the heart on the river he was out a lot of chips, wasn't he? Don't you have to hit on this kind of thing fairly often to make it work?

Bump....I know it might seem that I'm fishing. But I'm down on the night and wondering if there's any obvious problem from these stats. Thanks again.

Hey Guys,I don't have PokerTracker yet (still trying to figure out demo version). In the meantime, I was looking at my PartyPoker stats for the day and wondered if anyone had any feedback for me. I've been playing mostly $25 NL. The tables I've played tended to be loose passive.Hands played: 868Hands Won: 10%Showdowns Won: 73%Flops seen: 32%Win% if Flops Seen: 28%I know this isn't a lot of info. But can anyone see any obvious problems from these stats? For example, I like my showdowns won % but wonder if I'm seeing too many flops. Since I can usually limp, though, maybe this is OK.Any

Sorry to butt-in-ski...I downloaded PokerTracker and have been trying to use it. Is there a primer out there somewhere? Also, I'm trying to use Gametime+ but I already had 1k hands when I installed. So I can't get it to work live on tables to see what it looks like. Is there a way to clear out the database?I know there's a bunch of documentation and I'm willing to read through it. Just wondered if anyone could give me some help to speed up the learning curve. Thanks!

Ah, if only that were true. :)I only play NL and I've been called down with worse than that. Many times.
