Not sure for SNG but for ring games 10k hands is nowhere near enough. You might be able to see if your preflop play is good by 10k but you will need atleast 100k before you can be confident of an hourly rate.I have had 10k stretches where I have won 500+ BB and I have had 10k stretches where I have lost 180 BB with almost identical VP$IP and PFR% numbers.

The good news is that I beleive he still posted a profit for 2005. Many pro will post losses for an entire year at some point in their career.

Actually I think the first poker million (the one Duthie won) was the first to use camera's to show hole cards. It was done quite well and thats the format the espn and wpt adopted

i beleive...limit from 1-3 to 20-40 -- last time i was there I played 5-10 and it was pretty weak. (about what you would find at a 1-2 table online)No limit- $100 - $500 buy tables. and sometimes higher. These are very weak gamesAlso stud and stud high lo 1-5 and 2-10 i think

For Limit holdem...Along with high % of people seeing flop another thing I look for(and its funny because its the exact opposite of what I do when playing live) is tables that have a lot of players with small stacks. If 4 or 5 people have bought in for the min or close to it I will go to those tables. Generally I have found that players that buy in short are weak or are playing at a higher limit than they can afford. Either way its good news for me.

Bad month it happens, lots of pros post a loss for an entire year. The test to see if you can be a winning player long term will be over the next 4 or 5 months when you have to drop down and play within your bank roll to build back up.

Track your results, its the most important thing IMO. When you get to $300-$400 move to .5-1 if you are comfortable. Someone made mention of waiting until you hit 3bb/100, although I agree this would be a good number to strive for I don't think it should be an indicator of when you should move up. it takes 100's of thousands of hands before you get good reliable BB/100 data and if you are moving along at the nice clip you seem to be doing I don't think you need to wait until you hit 3bb/100. Use your BR size as more of an indicator.
