  1. I played 5 last week, and cashed in 4, does that count. ]kidding of course but noone can seem to have a sense of humor on these boards
  2. Yeah I mean after losing a lot of my profits I decided that I just need to stick to Stud, and NL tournaments. I cannot play the NL cash games, I just suck at them. My LHE game is ok, but I just think for now Stud is my best, or the other players just really suck, I dont know which.
  3. the censored word is C o c k y, that's not profanity, you think computers would be smarter.
  4. This week started out well enough, I won a NLHE $5 tourney, and came in 3rd in another one. Then on monday and tuesday I sat down for some 1-2 stud and ended up being up 50 BB for about 7 hours. Then as always I started playing like crap, and lost all but $100 that I won this week. I mean, $100 profit is good for the limits I play, but I feel like all these other posters on here that alway say, "I turned $50 into $5000", and you know the are either lying, or lost it all. Any tricks people do to keep their game sharp, without getting cocky when you are on a good winning streak?
  5. When they fail to improve. I usually begin to Check on 5th street. If it is only one bet to me, I will usually call down, if it is two bets two me I usually give them up. Suggestions?
  6. Full Tilt is running tournaments where you win a share of their pro spokespeoles winnings in the WSOP. Anyone going to enter one of these. For me this is a much better way to make money than to enter a WSOP sattelite.
  7. Yes you fold, the 6 is not scared of the king, meaning he has Kings or Aces himself, possibly trips but he would probably want to conceal the power of trips if he is a good player. you are left with 1 out to get trips.
  8. After months of searching I have found the great site for stud. Pacific poker is the best. Party is good, but its high ante structure is annoying. Pacific has the WORST stud players I have ever seen. I mean people betting 7th street with their hand showing. People drawing to my trips showing, I mean I never knew a site could be so easy, but it is.
  9. Thanks, I figured I should push then, but you know when I lose a hand, I always think if there was a way I could play it better. I mean I'm an ok tournament player, just not so good on a short stack.
  10. Well yeah, sorta, I know Ive only got a few hands left to push with, but at the same time I still have about 6 rounds left. I know I need to pick a spot, but should I try to wait to maybe see a flop? I mean this was still early on in the tournament, so I wasn't close to the money yet. Oh yeah I was UTG so I did not get to see anyone else act first. Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm never good at pushing before the flop so that's why I was asking.
  11. What are good hands to go all in pre-flop when you are shortstacked in a tournament. Yesterday I had about 8 Big Blinds left and looked down on AQ o. I know its not a good hand in a no-limit tournament but I pushed anyway. Was this the right move?
  12. Ubs bonuses are easy to clear becuase the realease the money by the dime. You can play the low-limits and get a little bit released at a time.
  13. Hey I beat you with that hand, You didnt push till after the flop. I won the tournament with a crappy hand too, Q 4. other guy had A 2. Flop came 2 4 Q, he pushed. It was a good game though you played great.
  14. First of all, don't listen to Devos greatest hits. Listen to Q: are we not men? A: We are Devo. Second, I don't really play pokerroom too much, but all their tables give a jackpot for a royal flush. I won it once. It's better than partys because there is no need for a showdown.
  15. back before I had any notions of "serious" card playing, a thing of mad dog was essential to our poker game, anyone ever played Acey Duecy drunk, Its a bad idea, fortunately I lived close enough to an ATM that I didn't have to drive when I ended up losing $200 in one night. Ahhhh, to be underage again.
  16. I think Raymer showed good play even on TV. I mean Late on in a tournament, when you have a good size chip stack, is when you would be willing to take the "coin flips". He did win an astounding number of them, but they were the right plays. I mean maybe next year the WSOP will have enough money for cameras on all the tables so we can see how each player plays all the way through the tournament, but that seems unlikely. It would be really awesome though. Raymer is much better than I am. He is probably better than at least 90% of people that play poker, so if I could have his skills, I wou
  17. One move I commonly use in stud is if I believe that my opponent is on a straight or flush draw and I have a pair/ 2 pair I just check and call. I win probably about 70% of these hands which makes it worth it in my mind. Is this a correct stategy, People get really pissed sometimes at me because I am checking Aces up and say it is a bad move.
  18. Thanks, I use the check/raise strategy all the time in Omaha Hi/lo, and it works really well. I guess my problem with stud is I have a hard time recognizing when my low will hold up and end up losing a lot.
  19. Yeah all my money comes mainly from stud. I just am able to win almost every pot I win about 80% of my showdowns, and in the lower limits the pots are always huge because people just draw and draw and draw. Somedays I take a big loss when they keep drawing with one spade left in the deck and end up making it, but average the pots you can win at stud are amazing on-line. My hi/lo game is really weak, I just don't get it for some reason. I never know when I should be calling, raising etc. Todd Brunsons SS2 chapter didn't help me at all either. Any good books that cover Stud and Hi/lo tha
  20. Oh before anyone asks, yes I am a pretty winning player, up $300 for the month, and yes I enjoy party most of the time with all the fish.
  21. Alright, I love playing the limit HE games at party and do pretty well at the Stud tables too. But I've been losing a lot today just because everyone is staying till 7th street on every hand, I mean every hand. No one wants to ever fold. Are their any sites that have a good stud game, or do I just need to keep grinding my way up till I can play bigger limits. I'm still not down for the month, just really frustrated right now. Yes
  22. So this one time I had pocket aces. I pushed everything in and I lost to pocket queens and they got a set. Yeah it's rigged. That stuff never happens in live poker, cause, well bad beats don't happen to anyone but Phil Hellmuth, not me. When I get a bad beat it's because the website doesn't want me to win. ...........sarcasm
  23. Party is where I play all my cash games, UB is where I play all my tournaments. I like UB tournaments because most people are pretty good, unlike party where the mentality is "I have to go all-in on the first hand to get a chip lead" give me a break, but still if you want to sit down for 30 minutes and make some easy cash, party is the best. I worked 40 hours this week and still found time to collect $250 playing at party. It's great
  24. Yeah party is increadibly easy. Won one sattelited to the 200+15 saturday tourn., but got knocked out 20 before the money  But I'm still only able to play .50-1. or 1-2 HE and Stud but average about $100 a day, I can finnaly get those damn student loan officers off my back.
  25. One I always get is when I have TPTK and then the river is something scary, I will check/call to see if mt opponenent hit their trips, flush, whatever. Player proceeds to bet into me and shows pocket 7s or something(with no seven on the board) and then when my A Q wins, they say "I thought it was the best hand". when the board has like three overs. OK fine let me have your money.
