I'm sure I won't get the vaccine right away. If it's required for international travel I will, but if it's not, then I won't get it. I love vaccines, but this particular disease isn't worth hassling with for me; much like I never get flu shots, but have always gotten a Tetanus shot. Of the 2.7 million Americans that have died this year, only 260 thousand have been involving COVID, with like 92% of those being over 70 years old. Those don't feel like odds I need to be overly concerned about.

However, the interesting thing is that last night I lost my taste. I feel fine otherwise, but I can't taste anything. It's exactly what happened to me when I got COVID the first time. Here's the thing, I just had COVID like 3 weeks ago. I can't get it again so soon, can I? Please tell me I can't get it again so soon!
(I'm getting tested this afternoon)
Nothing to be overly concerned about.

Hey uncle Hankey I see you lurking. As prep for this new role I’ve been doing manager tools stuff. The main guy can be a little too rightwing for me sometimes but for the most part it’s been really helpful.
Yeah with a West Point background and a lot of c-level experience he definitely skews right on matters but even when he does his guidance on managing people and your career doesn't seem to be too heavily painted with that view point. Their remote managing guidance was really great as I've transitioned to a remote employee. I don't follow it exactly but that's the beauty of their system, they give you actionable guidance as well as the theory to show how they align. Then you can more readily adapt it to your style/needs.
Glad you're finding it useful.
My supervisor, the CIO, says he wants to make me a director by the end of the year. We're meeting soon to discuss the plan.

It's more like Lou's >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Everyone else
I havent seen Nice Guys, but I love anything Gosling is in.
Yeah, Lou's is pretty freakin strong on the Chicago style front.

I’ve seen it at least a dozen times and it never fails to make me laugh. I’m surprised you haven’t seen it, tbh. It gets compared to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang a lot, but I think TNG is loads better. It’s on Hulu, at least with a sub anyways.
ive never seen Inherent Vice but might have to now.
KKBB is a good one too. I rewatched Lucky Number Slevin the other night with the wife, her first time seeing it. I had kinda forgotten how much I enjoyed it the first time I saw it. She got a kick out of it and, since I knew the twist, I was happy just watching Lucy Liu in her prime (yes I realize she was in her upper 30s during that movie but damn if she doesn't prove the stereo type about asian women and aging).
I encourage you to check out both of these titles. IV has Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, with a cameo from pornstar Belladonna (in a non-nude role but there is some decent nudity in it if that helps sell you on viewing it). LNS has the aforementioned Lucy Liu, Ben Kingsley, Morgan Freeman, and Bruce Willis.

Man, The Nice Guys is such a good movie.
Agreed. The other movie that strikes a similar chord in tone or feel for me is Inherent Vice. If I'm flipping around and that one is on I always stop on it.
Went to Vegas for a few days to chill. Pretty much just hung out at the pool. Stayed at Aria and felt it was over rated, over priced (lowest table min was $25) and the overall experience is better at Bellagio. Had a blast at Catch restaurant sitting at the bar. The bartender was awesome and the 2 locals sitting next to us were a blast to hang out with as well. Tried a few ounces of the A5 Wagyu which was a cool experience. Was back for a day then we took the kids to Chicago. After having both I have to say Lou Malnatti's > Giordano's.

Did I finally kill the thread by being mean to Strat?
At first I thought you were taking braveheart to task and got really confused as I continued to read.
I think strat is a bit like I was in that he is looking for his "perfect mate" which he takes to mean as "the person who will check all the pro boxes and none of the con boxes" but which I have come to learn actually means "the person with con boxes but not bad enough you continually fantasize about swerving your car into a guardrail every time you're on a highway."

I think her teeth are actually fine. I did a call with her tonight and it appears the lighting in her photos was tricky.
We started talking about her neighborhood, the baller one I want to live in, come to find out she lives next door to my former boss. So that’s something.

Broke quarantine yesterday to do T-day shopping. I've been less than impressed with grocery delivery services. I swear they leave stuff off just because it's heavier than a box of cereal or something. Now desperately trying to rush thaw a whole bird since they were out of just turkey breast options. I'll likely be hitting the scotch for breakfast so by the time we're supposed to eat I should be well lubricated.
Happy no good deed goes unpunished day everybody.

bang buddy.
People are so desperate to feel...not unhappy(?) that the radios stations here have already been playing Christmas music for the last week or so. We're not even through November and I've already lost Whamageddon.

I'm just down the road in Manhattan a tad over an hour away. If you do visit let me know and I'll come that way then we can road trip to KC casinos so we can meet SA at the casino. Then when you both bail last minute I can still go gambooooool.

I ended up voting libertarian for president and senate. Was thinking straight dem until I saw the polls for those races. Godspeed, libertarians.
[randy's head asplodes]
From the results I've seen Jo can't hold Perot's jock strap and isn't even going to get the 5% national needed to get national funding next election. Seems to be holding around 1-1.5% so: way to waste your vote?
I flipped between a couple stations and followed a couple of online poll tracking sites last night for a few hours. The blue lead slipping away was no surprise to me but what was surprising was the AP calling Virginia before 8 PM CDT for Biden when Trump was leading the vote by over 300k. When I saw that I felt echoes of 2016 and strongly suspected pollsters and pundits shit the bed again. Granted, this morning it looks like the AP were correct about Virginia but I just don't see how an organization can, in good faith, call a race for one candidate when the other is leading by a fair amount of the tallied vote.

I know that historically the "small business is the back bone of America" speeches are mostly just pandering with no real intent of doing much of anything for actual small businesses behind them but I fear that without some lifelines for actual small to medium size businesses all we'll have left after things normalize is big box retailers and chain restaurants.

I was in Vegas for a few days before Thanksgiving and the wife and I decided to hit the VGK home game against the Senators. I was able score some really good seats without breaking the bank. Turns out I was in the section next to where Daniel sits and I got a chance to meet our benefactor here lo these many decades. He was sitting in the concession area between periods, and true to form he was super nice and welcoming even though I was kinda fanboying.
I think that is the perfect capstone to my adventures here at FCP. Thanks all, it's been fun. Suited, hope I get a chance to stack you at Harrah's sometime.
