  1. A quick post for those of you anxiously awaiting the release of Stacked. The game will now be released at the end of February 2006 for the:PS2Xbox PSPPCThey are refining the online elements of the game. The game is published by Myelin Media but distributed by Atari.

  2. major, you know I'm fond of you, but enough is enough.  Lets move on.  I'll help.  I'll tell a story. The other night, I was at a bar and I was chatting up this real sweathog.  (the usual)  All I could think of when she was talking to me was how good my junk would look in her mouth.  I couldn't even hear the words coming out of her mouth.  A little later, after more beers and mindless chat, she had her hand down my pants and that is when it hit me,  I had no idea what her name was.  What do I do?  Obviously, I start calling her cute pet names.  She liked baby,  she wasn't to fond of "my little tubby sex machine"The moral,  fats girls are sensitive.  Go figure.I got her an ice cream sundae from McDonalds and it was all good.
Very funny.Well Ron hopefully one of these days I will have the pleasure and good fortune to sit down with you, Royal and a few select others who I really think it would be a blast to play poker and party with.As far as the rest of the bullshit goes, I say uncle and I just don't want to fuck with this forum any more.It is clearly -ev for me as no matter how hard I try to come across in a respectful and intelligent manner, I must be doing a really lousy job since it ends up twisted and ugly.Very few really want any true dialog and it is way too difficult to get above the noise, my time is much better spent in other ways.PM is a great tool, anyone needs to reach me that would be a good way.
  3. I am not looking for acceptance or agreement on my point of view, simply civility. Is this too much to ask for and expect?
Do you really think this is the best way to go about it?
Would would you suggest?Be a verbal doormat and when people call me Idiot, Stupid, Moron, Tard, simply let it go?Yes I could do that, but what do you realistically think the chances are that they will not continue to treat others like that?Sometimes you just have to stand up to a bully even if he is a verbal bully in cyberspace. If you have a better way to make this forum a place where people can discuss without being verbally abused, please let us know!
  4. Major...what's the big deal here?  Everyone didn't jump all over you because you said you didn't like Daniel, they did it because they completely disagreed with your comment that he was out of line at that table.  Let it go.You can stop playing the martyr now.  You made a comment, everyone and their mother disagreed with you (some vehemently)...the end.
Hmm?Do you really think that I am trying to be the martyr?I always expected that my original opinion would be in the minority. I have never had any issue with anyone disagreeing. The issue which only a handful have chimed in on was the fact that disagreeing quickly became a verbal lynching. That was the issue, and I have seen it many, many times with others, not just me.While you are correct that many/most disagreed, as the day wore on yesterday more and more people came out and said they agreed. Many people disagreed with my point of view but did not resort to nasty, vindicative, vitriolic and personal attacks.I applaud all of those people.I am not looking for acceptance or agreement on my point of view, simply civility. Is this too much to ask for and expect?
  5. Wow...you really take this too seriously dude.  Calm down...you made a point some people disagreed with. Happens to us all.
It was strictly in the manner that several people chose to disagree.I never expected nor would want people to agree just to agree. The issue was that many people chose to resort to personal attacks, and blindly defend Daniel.Daniel is a human being like everyone of us with feelings, failings, good days bad days, that does not make him perfect or infallible.I have not met him so I don't know him and cannot comment on his character.Conversely you do not know me personally and therefore are not in a position to criticize me either. It is not just me, as I have said in many other posts that while it may not seem like it at the moment I have a thick enough skin and can take it.Others though may never post because this place has gotten so nasty. The point of this silly thread wasn't contrary to Guin's point for me to get more attention.God I think I have had enough!!!It was to merely point out that I for one do not want a forum that is just about agreeing with every damn thing Daniel says and or does.If you agree because you agree, fine! However we all know that there are some folks who agree because it is popular to do so.How bland and boring would this world be if we all just agreed on everthing? If so we might as well all be robots devoid of any thoughts, feelings, or emotions.I for one will continue to voice my opinion.Do I expect to be liked or even well received?Hmmm probably not, but that's okay.
  6. Man...every single thing you say is wrong. Are you on drugs ?
Instead of your making a comment one way or the other about the post, you just comment that I posted.
I responded with a quote to a post.Want to see to refresh your memory ?
Ron_Mexico wrote:  WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.  This thread makes me want to make gay jokes again.  This horse is dead, no need to beat it.  Worse yet...he made a post at 4:30 this morning on that "8 page monster" to say how 8 pages is enough.  You were wrong...are wrong...let it go.
Ron asked you to stop beating a dead horse...I chimed in that you answered this morning and the first line of that post was " 8 pages is enough"...and yet here you are with the same BS.
Hey, you are right and I am wrong about everything so I started another thread that should be much more pleasing and to your liking! So what tourney and in the Cindy issue? Again I assure you that I am not being a wise guy when I ask, just genuinely interested in any one on this forums success regardless of whether I agree, disagree with, like or dislike them.
  7. So you tell me, you are good enough that when Daniel sits down at your table you will trap him and make money off of him?
Now its back to DN....I thought this was a different topic. Anyway....as I said yesterday, if I couldn't fade the swings ,I would leave.Save the "card Player" reference ...I said I am in the current issue not was in. Truth hurts don't it.
LOLTruth hurts?Unlike you who I am not negative towards my fellow posters.I am happy for you and not in the least bit jealous. The Cindy Violette issue? What tourney did you win?I am genuinely interested in the success of others here and not being a wise guy when I ask.
  8. Okay clearly this is what most, not all, but most of you want. So without any further adieu the post that you all want:Daniel is the best.Daniel is great.Daniel does everything right.Daniel does nothing wrong. Thanks Daniel for this website. Thanks Daniel for your blog, please, please don't let those free thinking jerks that speak their mind stop you from blogging.Daniel please tell us what you ate for breakfast today.Daniel what time did you first go the bathroom today when you woke up?Daniel please say hi to Barry Greenstein for me when you play him next.Daniel nice laydown that one time against insert name here.Daniel when are you going to invite us FCP'ers over to your house. Only us nice ones though, don't invite any of those mean people. Remember me Daniel I always say nice things about you.I love you Daniel. How is Mushu doing?I have some really great home made dog biscuits for Mushu, where can I send them?Good luck in the WPT, you are the man and I just know that you will take it down, nobody stands a chance.Daniel you are the man.Daniel I can't wait to play Stacked, man it's going to be so cool. I am sure I will get lots of great tips. Man I wish it wasn't delayed until December but I can't wait.Daniel are you going to play Stacked on Xbox Live? I can't wait to play you.Daniel you are the best, I wish you weren't married cause I am sure my sister would love you.Daniel I can't wait to play with you at The Wynn. You are the best man.Okay there is finally a post that I am sure you will all love and we can all agree on!!!!

  9. just the fact that people like you either call me and other posters names
Show me one spot in this thread where I called you any name. Just because I disagree with you ... don't take it personal.Does anyone believe this is not a rehashing of the 8 page monster but disguised ?I said it would be my final post on that topic...but you really need a wake up.
You conveniently only quoted part of what I said. I said either call names or make snide remarks like the one you did about me posting at 4:30am.The last post I made on the 8 page monster had nothing to do with the original discussion and was about the nasty way people come down on people.Instead of your making a comment one way or the other about the post, you just comment that I posted. Many people are enraged over an opinion that was posted in good taste and respectfully, but only a small handful are upset at the way "adults" behave in this forum?Seems to me there is something really wrong when an opinion that someone does not agree with pisses them off, but beating the verbal snot out of a poster is perfectly okay.
  10. You cannot compare having a pro sit down with that kind of stack, because he will only play like a donkey when he is pretty sure he won't be called meaning that you might very well have a better hand that you will be forced to laydown everytime because of the huge difference in chip stack.  Conversely you will NOT be paid off when you have a premium hand, because the pro is much too smart to pay you much or to call your huge raise or all in
Did you even read the "Nutbar" article DN mentioned ? Part of his reasoning is that from the moment he sits down ...he owns the table. The whole point is to NOT raise your premium hands...to limp them and TRAP...to let him bet your hands for you.I will no longer be posting on this topic....but please think about it.
I have thought about it.So you tell me, you are good enough that when Daniel sits down at your table you will trap him and make money off of him?Well I was not in Card Player so I can readily admit that I am not so naive as to think that I will be able to sit down with Daniel and trap him into paying me $5-10k with a premium hand. But hey then again you were in Card Player, as such you clearly will be able to beat Daniel and trap him.
  11. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.This thread makes me want to make gay jokes again. This horse is dead, no need to beat it.
Worse yet...he made a post at 4:30 this morning on that "8 page monster" to say how 8 pages is enough. You were wrong...are wrong...let it go.
Not sure what the deal is with the time stamp you refer to but I was asleep at 4:30am. I didn't make any posts until about 8:30 or 9:00am EST.
Fair enough...I live in Pacific time...could be that. Still doesn't negate the fact that you possted on that 8 page monster first thing this morning though, right ?
And your point is what?I did not rehash the original issue in that post, just the fact that people like you either call me and other posters names, worst case or in your case just make subtle negative comments like this one that are not germain to the issue.Did you comment about the negative reactions and bashing of posters on this forum? No.You just made a snide comment that I was posting at 4:30 am, which was incorrect.Again it just establishes my point. The nastiness is so damn pervasive on this site that it really is sickening.I can assure you that you will NEVER ever see me make a negative comment about anybody's post initially going forward.I will defend myself and if all else fails get nasty in return, but only in retaliation, not first.I have seen many of your comments that I did not agree with and in fact found to be rather silly, but I did not and will not make nasty comments just for the sake of doing so.
  12. A player who is a much more skilled player than you joins your table with 10 to 20 times your stack after you have been properly bankrolled and playing for say 6 hours, how is that going to benefit you financially?
Since you are jumping through hoops to try and make some point...allow me to shoot you right down.Duhhhhh.... if a "A player who is a much more skilled player than you joins your table" you are always in a -EV situation. Buy in has nothing to do with it.
Buy in has EVERYTHING to do with it!That was always the whole point, and really it is much more of an issue with the Wynn if they allow no maximum at a $5 10 table then with Daniel.I never, ever argued that it would be great to have a really lousy player buy in for 10 or 20 times what you have at the table. Every player who is decent or thinks they are decent would welcome this. You cannot compare having a pro sit down with that kind of stack, because he will only play like a donkey when he is pretty sure he won't be called meaning that you might very well have a better hand that you will be forced to laydown everytime because of the huge difference in chip stack.Conversely you will NOT be paid off when you have a premium hand, because the pro is much too smart to pay you much or to call your huge raise or all in.
  13. If im not mistaken, usually there is a table maximum you can buy-in for. Correct me if im wrong.  I have no idea. But you can play like a maniac at my table anyday.
In AC most or all the NL tables have a max buy in but at The Wynn, either there is none or it is very, very high.I agree I want a maniac at my table too, but how does having a player who is much better than you sitting down with 10 to 20 times your stack going to make you money? Are you going to be able to trap the pro, to make a big score?I don't think so, that's why they are pro's because they know when they are beat and when to laydown and they are NOT easily trapped.
  14. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.This thread makes me want to make gay jokes again. This horse is dead, no need to beat it.

  15. would have given their first born to be proplerly bankrolled to be at that table with dn.i
I agree 100%, if I or you were properly bankrolled. In the scenario I outlined you WERE properly bankrolled since you and the other 8 originally sat down with very similar stacks.Once John Smith joins the table with 125k you are no longer properly bankrolled. If John Smith is a rich donkey then yes I want him at my table with 1,000 times my stack as you are correct I will make money. This is NOT the scenario I outlined.A player who is a much more skilled player than you joins your table with 10 to 20 times your stack after you have been properly bankrolled and playing for say 6 hours, how is that going to benefit you financially?
  16. There is No getting away from that hand, Sammy is going to call your preflop raise with Any Ace, AT would be VERY Unlikely since you have the other 2 tens! Sammy Might (or might not) reraise you with AQ, If Sammy had queens hes going to reraise you before the flop, some with AA.There isnt a single pro or amateur that will lay that hand down, and anyone that says they would must be the most weak-tight player in the world.  Its just one of those cases of being colddecked and youre going to have to go broke here, first hand or not
I would love to play against you in any tournament then.I'm sure most pros wouldn't lay it down, but I bet that most pros don't go broke on this hand either. Look at the DN hand against Faraha when he rivered the flush and DN had the str8, according to you and almost everyone else on this thread, DN MUST be weak tight because Farha could have anything here.C'mon be real, just because you aren't good enough, don't say every pro would go broke here too.And someone was right, you don't have to go all in here, you can just call, especially when it's AAxx, you have to figure him for at least an A, so if he has AT or AQ you are beat, why go broke first hand, call the turn and see how much he bets on river. I believe the river was a J or a K, I doubt Farha goes all in on the river knowing you could easily have AJ(or AK), or AQ, which both beat him. If you can't lay this down on the first hand of the ME, don't ever play the main event. And if you can't lay this down in any NL cash game, especially when you have $1000 in front of you, stop playing NL NOW!!!
I am not sure that you can make the same comparison. While Daniel made a great laydown, the flush was staring him in the face and a straight is a good hand but vulnerable to quite a bit more than flopping a tens full of aces full house.I admit easily that I would have gone broke in that instance and I believe 98% of players pro or not would have too.
  17. Okay I want to put forth a scenario without talking about Daniel or any specific pro or person and get some genuine intelligent dialog and opinion. There really were two issues at hand when discussing the possibility of someone like Daniel joining your $5 10 table, entertainment value and money making potential.I guess I did not do a good enough job of explaining the way I interperted the situation so I will try once more fresh. If you are looking for entertainment value, then having Daniel or Phil Hellmuth or some other pro join your table and nutbar as it has so affectionately been called, yeah that's great and I would love it too!If you on the other hand want to make money then it would be seriously negative from a money making perspective based upon the following scenario:You join a table at the same time as 8 other people and while there is no maximum buy-in, this is a game you are familar with and play at regularly and do well in, and when you sit down the other 8 also sit down with very similar starting chip stacks within say $1-2K of each other. So using this example you all sit down with about $5k give or take $1 or 2k in either direction. Now you are playing well winning some pots, losing some pots but steadily increasing your chip stack. Then John Smith sits down at the table with $125k. He starts to bully the table and everyone folds to him. Now you assume that he is just a rich moron that can't play, but you get a premium hand say Aces and you raise to $100.00 he re-raises to $500 and you go all in for $4k.Now you do this because you have seen him show some goofy hands like queen, 3 off-suit to steal pots and he laughs, so you are pretty sure he doesn't care about money and doesn't know how to play so if you are patient enough you will trap him. You are almost certain he will call you with any two cards since you have seen him raise to $45k with nothing so you figure if you wait long enough he will certainly call your $4k all-in since he raises to $45k with nothing. This is certainly logical thinking based upon your experience at this table with this guy, isn't it?Well he folds so you take down the pot.Well you made some money, but as it turns out John Smith is a pro player who knows exactly how to play but you just never heard of him. You will never trap this guy, turns out he is just too good!!But if he had never joined your table with a stack that could put you all in each time you could trap a player with a lesser skill set with your Aces. My argument is that you would always make more money in that scenario then having a player of the caliber of a Daniel sit down with 10 to 20 times your stack. You will make much less money best case and go broke worst case having a pro player sit down with 10 to 20 times your stack.Again I am NOT asking you to comment on whether this is good or bad, right or wrong. Just whether or not you want to be in that situation when you have been at a table for hours and if you truly think that you would make more money. Yes you can move, again not the question. It was asked someplace in the 8 page monster thread what's the difference if he sat down with a similar stack?Does that really have to be explained? I would love it if he or someone else sat down at the table with skill and a similar chip stack, as you at least have a fighting chance to make some money. If anyone sits down with a similar stack and then builds it up to 10 or 20 times the average stack, then I say right on more power to them for playing skillfully and or lucky and they deserve the advantage. Why?Because they fought hard to earn the advantage, they didn't just walk in with it.Look none of us if we are ever fortunate enough to sit down at a table with Daniel or someone of his caliber are going to out play him and trap him to make a huge score. The rare circumstance where you might, and I say might would be in a case like the first hand of the main event with Farha and Hudson where they both flop FH's. Even then I would argue that a player of Daniel's skill would not go broke and would find a way to release the hand as painful and difficult as it would be.So I really believe that the people that say hey I would love it if he joined my table and I would make money because I would wait for a hand etc. etc. are either not analyzing this situation properly or are kidding themselves.Again I am saying all of this assuming that 8 people are at a table with very similar stacks and then a new player joins that table with 10 to 20 times the stack of any other player, who also happens to be an excellent poker player, would be in a very negative situation.I do not know what the stacks were when Daniel joined and I am NOT making any assumptions and this post is NOT about that scenario. This is a new scenario and if you respond just look at the new scenario especially what I put in bold and tell me that you would enjoy being in that position.

  18. You know what Ron you are right. The only posts worth making are the juvenile jokes, since those generally don't get any kind of nasty, vitriolic reactions.Attempting to have any kind of genuine, intelligent dialog on this site tends to be an excercise in futility.I am done with it.

  19. 8 pages is enough, so I am not going to comment on the original topic, everybody has their opinion and is entitled. What I find most interesting and at the same time frustrating and somewhat disturbing is the reaction that people have when either the topic is not flattering towards Daniel or they just plain don't agree.Daniel mentioned he was offended by my original comments.  Now I made them respectfully and with thought and without any malice, and yet he was offended. Why is Daniel not offended by the reaction of many, not all mind you, but many of  the posters on this forum towards me?It happened to be me this time, but this happens all the time to others as well.  Whether you agree or disagree, like me or dislike me does not excuse the kind of behavior exhibited towards me on this forum. Many people have taken the opportunity of my post to make a personal attack against me.  My words in many cases have been at the very least misconstrued and at the worst completely changed and twisted beyond all recognition. Why?Because I had the courage of my convictions and started a thread that was not popular with the majority knowing full well that I might/probably would be attacked?I have been accused in the past 8 pages of calling Daniel a cheater, I never did.  I have been called an idiot, stupid, moron, tard and probably other names that I have forgotten. It makes it very difficult to want to have any kind of dialog on this forum and quite frankly I am offended by it and you should be too.Agree to disagree, but is it too much to ask that you do it respectfully?
         :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:
Very nice and exactly my point. We don't agree so let's verbally beat the shit out of the poster.Play as many fucking violins as you want, if you read the above you will note that this isn't about me. I fully expected the reaction but I understand why people don't want to comment, it always becomes a personal attack and the dialog gets lost and muted.
  20. This applies to the end of the other post about Daniels blog, but numerous people have been flaming daniel and even saying that he is stupid for his posr about a buy-in.  Obviously, he knows more about poker than anybody on here and does run this website, so first off, I think it is a 110% disrespectful to flame him and two, he must have some reason for saying there isnt and advantage to buying in for a mountain of chips in a cash game.  I have my own thoughts about the whole buy-in thing, but i wont post it on here, because nothing productive will come from it, just a ton of flames.
For the record, I did NOT flame him.I opened up a can of worms that brought out quite a bit of emotion in people but I did not flame him, I voiced my opinion and if my comments are read in context you will see that I did it in as a respectful manner as I could.Could I have worded it better?Maybe.Did I flame him or try and bash him, was that my intent?NO
  21. 8 pages is enough, so I am not going to comment on the original topic, everybody has their opinion and is entitled. What I find most interesting and at the same time frustrating and somewhat disturbing is the reaction that people have when either the topic is not flattering towards Daniel or they just plain don't agree.Daniel mentioned he was offended by my original comments. 22. I just can't get over the No limit buy in rule... it's ridiculous! A lot of you state that this would be a great game, don't play over your bankroll, etc. That is only true if your more of a gambler than a player. And yes, a lot of crazy gamblers come into 1/2 games, etc. and lose a few G, thats not the same as a buy in 50x more than the average. (Ever seen someone pulling out 10 grand when everyone has $100? ...didn't think so)I play 2/5 usually, with a $500 max buy in. (Or the highest stack at the table.) Now, if someone would sit down with $50000 and puts us basically all in every hand, WHERE DOES THE PLAY GO? Yes, we all like to make money but I don't want to put my entire buy in on the line EVERY TIME. I basically would have to wait for a 3/2 shot or better and hope... then what? I will lose the 3rd coinflip or the 4th or the 5th and I'm broke. Not the way I like to play poker... Sounds more like craps to me... Lots of fun at the craps table, too and sure nothing wrong with it...I'm just not that much of a gambler, I guess...
Well said. That was always my point. It is not poker at that point it is strictly gambling which is fine if that is what you expect, but if you sit down to play poker and have any kind of game at all you don't want to gamble.
