  1. It was just on ESPN2 again today....The coolest thing about that.... which I agree with anyway, is that Ellix used this to make a point.McManus was super pissed off at him, but when Ellix got up for a smoke after the "Jack High" incident..... Johnny "World" was actually praising him... saying that he's good for the game. The thing I agree with, is that Ellix was upset that people who had made at least $40 grand sitting at the tourney, could be so mad. I don't know if I believe that he was homeless and had like $90 to his name up to that point, but I know that if I had at least made $40,000 I
  2. PWetz00 - that's two zeroes..... and I have it everywhere I playPStarsFTPPacificUBet... soon
  3. From the original post.... I love it how he calls you down, then claims on the end that the game is all about aggression....I mean.. what's more aggressive than calling big bets with K high?Lol.... Where else but at this game, do you run into these goofballs?
  4. No Offense here man....Lol... but that is the funniest thing to watch..... while not playing.Although its that garbage that makes those people keep playing that crap.... and then once in a while being able to "brag about how good they are."I ran into the exact same situation a few days ago on PStars... only thing was the the guy who pulled a miracle runner runner on me was serious when saying he was chasing down the "3 card flush draw" from the flop.No pairs, no nothing.... guy had J high on the flop... with a 7-3 suited... (board came like J 9 2 .... J of hearts) and caught runner runner hea
  5. My Bad.... it is a super-satellite... and there are only 9 players left... which emphasizes this lay down even more..... only one more to get knocked out before the prizes.... and the prize is the same no matter where you finish in the top 8.
  6. THIS IS A VERY CONTROVERSIAL PLAY....... But... if you look at what he says in regard to the percentage of chips on the table.... There are at the very least... 61% of the chips shared between two people, one of which is you.... with at least 7 others sitting in on the game...I'd have to say that I would agree with this laydown in the situation he portrays. In that setting... you are not trying to take first place.... you are playing to make the top 8.... because #1 - #8 all get the same prize in this case.... a seat at the bigger game. This sounds stupid, I know.... but think of the situation.
  7. Wait.... he's not from Canada... my bad for not noticing this before I posted.I referenced what Jakoye said....... Not in response to Daniel's comments, that was the point of my first line there. My fault for not making it any clearer, I think? But I thought I had referenced that earlier.Seattle, WA wouldn't be Canada. Just want to make sure I got that one out there too.Jakoye made some pretty knowledgeable comments..... IMHO.... and again, I haven't been anywhere south of St. Louis, MO.... still a midwestern atmosphere.
  8. Blinkers.... I think after reading my post... that was your cue to chime in on the subject if you were going to reply.I have never been there.... so obviously, someone who's at least been down there.... would most likely have a better understanding of the situation....That's where I left it at.... I don't know anything besides what I read / watch on TV..... you, being from Nashville would be better suited to talk about it... which I was hoping for. And yes... common sense..... I will accept a Canadian's opinion because he's at least been to the South. Does it make sense now?
  9. I'll second that one jakoye. I suppose you could say I'm an open-minded, accepting 22 year old college student.Living in the upper midwest, and away from the Milwaukee/Chicago area.... the older population seems to shy away from anything dealing with the slowly growing minority population.I have never been to the South, so I can only believe what you had to say about relations in the southern states. Our county board (with an average age well in the 50's), nearly passed a resolution last year that would have enforced the english language as the "official language" of the county. One board m
  10. I had wondered about this as well.... as I have most years of the WSOP on DVD collection.... there were a few instances of this happening.... a player would be all-in..... another was pondering the call and would flip one card over at a time to get a sense of the other person's strength.... Only reason I have still wondered about this, is because in each case... the player who exposed their cards.... ended up folding anyway.I think the most recent case of this was in 1993 or 1994.... player flipped over K.... paired top card on board... but then showed weak kicker a few moments later...... the
  11. I would say its basically up to you... and using common sense..... you are basically playing 2 - one table games..... I think the odds are better going with one table... only because of that fact that just first place gets the seat
  12. I'll put in a second on "the grinder" from PStars.Only because the other players I've seen... have been mentioned a few times...I had heard he's planning a run on some WPT events this year, very good, very aggressive tournament player. No clue how he does in cash games... but very good in tournaments
  13. I want to say pokerstars... just because of the sick number of entrants they have had the past 2 years.I think it was nearing 20-25% of the total entries for the main event last year.... main reason i play there
  14. Very deep thoughts Ice...I agree with some things you said....but...You claim to not be religious, but why then would you study religious ideas? Or was this before you became non-religious?And I think people telling you that you are wrong... may be just contradicting beliefs... nobody is right, nobody wrong.... Religion is based on belief.... not fact..... from my own "amateur religious studies understanding."
  15. And you don't need to throw the perfect ball everytime to get a 300 in bowling..... heck .. you don't even need to throw the perfect ball once..... And throwing terrible balls.. and getting strikes... has nothing to do with great skill.... nobody practices to throw bad balls
  16. (This is off the main topic...there is absolutely no luck in golf. ) I can see where you're going here.... and that's an honest opinion. My mistake for giving very bad examples on this topic in regard to golf and bowling. It is not one player's skill... that can willfully relate to another person's "choking" on the 18th green of a golf tournament, or in the 10th frame of a championship match.I'll agree it's a lack of skill in these games that results in poorer performance... but I believe that bowling and golf are two of the most frustrating games to play.... because you cannot act as a defens
  17. Ah.. Gamblinleaf..... you made me realize that I was looking too deep into this. Thanks for that post... In my eyes... a christian is one who believes in Jesus Christ.... son of God.... Am I wrong to believe what I have been told all of my life? That God sent his only Son to die for us.... so that all of our sins may be forgiven if we believe in Him?This is the underlying message of the Christian faith.... Does it really matter to what extent we sin? Besides how the public views us? It is written in stone... he who believes, is saved. From this alone.... I can only conclude that if Gambling i
  18. I guess I can comment on the Gambling thing too...As I said, I am a fence sitter in most cases. I will also agree with the "life is gambling" to some extent. Why is it that "Joe Blow" who wins $100 million in the lotto.... who gives a portion to the church..... is looked upon as a hero? How is this any different than a poker player donating some of the winnings to the church?Maybe there is more luck involved with poker than other events.... but by definition.... aren't Pro Golf or Pro Bowling on the same level?Money is put up to enter.... some win, some lose money. If there was absolutely no
  19. I kinda stumbled along this topic without the intent of responding here...I'm interested in a response from some of you that have written some pretty insightful messages previous to my post. I am, by nature... a fence sitter with respect to controversial ideas. I'm a 22 year old college student studying Accounting and Finance... My family has always been very involved with our church. It is very appealing to me that someone had brought up this topic, because I'd like to put out a real life example from my church, that may or may not turn the tables on the situation.I am not saying that my c
  20. I was only in Vegas once... last summer. Funny you mention the early morning Bellagio trips....I did that after arriving in town after midnight and getting settled in at my hotel. You could almost see the alcohol on their breath while they were breathing..... But my take on that game after 2 hours was nearing $600.... After that night... I stuck to playing that game and arriving around 3-4 am the rest of the week I was there, mixed in with some of the tournaments on the strip.Played the smaller limits while waiting to get on NL tables.... and found myself getting sucked into "everybody sees
  21. Absolutely crazy game..... got the entire floor of my dorm building hooked on it in like 2 hours.... With doors open... all you hear is people yelling out their high scores, which aren't nearly as high as 60 seconds because of the high speed connections here at school.....I got up to 37.9.... but I'm worried about the flashing blue shapes triggering off health problems.....
  22. I played a few $60 buy in tourneys in some guy's detached heated "Garage/poker room" a few weeks ago. I think I played 3-4 times and there were like 15 people there. The guy who owned the place kinda let me in on his own rule... which was that every time someone was all in.... the all players at each table had to drink a shot... or a full can of beer.... celebrating the "all-in" moment by taking their beverages "all-in."I quickly learned that a select few who loved to drink anyway... would go all in on each other... and take down the pot with no action... just to have an excuse to drink the h
  23. What's the site for that Aruba Challenge blog? I've seen it before, but forgot where it is.
